Just the other day I told you about MasterCard and Wells Fargo Bank wanting to add biometrics to EMV technology worldwide (BEAST SYSTEM UPDATE: Biometrics Being Added To Credit Cards For Security), but it appears Visa has already begun testing the new technology in Africa. Apparently they began testing September 15, 2015 exactly one month before the EMV credit card changeover here in the U.S. Now might be a good time to start looking into living off of the grid if you haven’t already done so.

The Mark of The Beast -- FBI Ramps Up Biometrics Catalogue to Track EVERYONE In America

 In the last few years, FBI has been dramatically expanding its biometrics programs, whether by adding face recognition to its vast Next Generation Identification (NGI) database or pushing out mobile biometrics capabilities for “time-critical situations” through its Repository for Individuals of Special Concern (RISC). But two new developments—both introduced with next to no media attention—will impact far more every-day Americans than anything the FBI has done on biometrics in the past.

FBI Combines Civil and Criminal Fingerprints into One Fully Searchable Database

Being a job seeker isn’t a crime. But the FBI has made a big change in how it deals with fingerprints that might make it seem that way. For the first time, fingerprints and biographical information sent to the FBI for a background check will be stored and searched right along with fingerprints taken for criminal purposes.

The change, which the FBI revealed quietly in a February 2015 Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), means that if you ever have your fingerprints taken for licensing or for a background check, they will most likely end up living indefinitely in the FBI’s NGI database. They’ll be searched thousands of times a day by law enforcement agencies across the country—even if your prints didn’t match any criminal records when they were first submitted to the system.

And to keep tabs on all the welfare queens, in order to keep tax dollars accountable.

There will be other rationales, too.

But, really, governments just want to do all the spying they can within their power – and right now, technology offers more power than ever before to carry out universal surveillance, track and trace every person and every thing and put civil rights in the backseat where they belong.

The latest proposal from a politician in the Finnish government seems like a near-future dystopic film, but may not be far reality.

A politician from Finland’s conservative Finns Party suggested implanting welfare recipients with satellite-tracking chips following news that some recipients continued receiving payments after leaving the country to join ISIL.

A member of Finland’s right-wing Finns Party, Pasi Maenranta, has suggested implanting all recipients of government assistance with satellite-tracked chips if they choose to leave the country.

Maenranta made the proposal after Finnish media revealed that some recipients of government assistance continued to receive payments after leaving the country to join ISIL in Syria and Iraq.

“The law should be changed: To receive payments from Kela [the Social Insurance Institution], one has to tell exact data about your location using your personal code, read by a satellite. It is also possible to implant electronic chips to all going abroad, who for example receive medical welfare from Kela,” Maenranta wrote on his Facebook page.

The Mark of The Beast - PayPal Developing Smart Tattoos and Ingestible ID Technology & Brain Implants

 Online money service Paypal wants to kill all passwords, replacing them with vein recognition, ingestible technology and computer chips tattooed to our skin.

In a presentation called Kill All Passwords, Paypal's global head of developer advocacy Jonathan LeBlanc outlined solutions which would replace the traditional written password, and go much further than the fingerprint scanners smartphone consumers are beginning to get used to. LeBlanc's aim is to use unique biometric data to eradicate false negatives - stopping valid users logging in - and false positives - allowing invalid users access to whatever is being protected.

LeBlanc sees technology taking a leap forward to "true integration with the human body," and says identifying people with external body parts such as their fingers and eyes is "antiquated." he suggests devices like brain implants and attachable computers which "put users in charge of their own security." Ingestible devices could be powered by stomach acid, which would run their batteries, LeBlanc "If there's a weak password you need to harden that with something physical behind it," LeBlanc said, suggesting an alternative could be a thin silicon chip embedded under the skin and which contains ECG sensors to monitor the heart's unique electrical activity. This data would be communicated via a wireless antenna to "wearable computer tattoos." Last year, Motorola announced temporary tattoos which could unlock its Moto X when the phone came into contact with them.

That is no longer true. Public and private entities are scanning license plates, snapping photos of our cars, and storing the times and locations where they appear. Close correlation between license plate numbers and particular drivers means that databases of mundane information about auto movements also reveal quite sensitive information about doctor and psychologist visits, business meetings, trysts, gatherings of legal advice and participation in political advocacy. License plates and cameras are, as I testified to Congress more than a dozen years ago, “Big Brother infrastructure.” RFID microchips implanted under the skin and wearable technology (Smart Tattoos) will soon be mandatory.

Meanwhile the European Union and U.S. Cybercom develop plans for a worldwide standardized Internet ID system. Will you accept the mark of the beast? Apple is considering storing customers' biometric data in the cloud to enable next-generation payment methods, according to new patent application found by Apple Insider.

The application relates to "finger biometric sensor data synchronisation via a cloud computing device and related methods," with one potential implementation being to authorise a "financial transaction."

Simply put, this means Apple is considering using its cloud hosting service iCloud to store customers' fingerprints, so they can be synced to other devices when required — such as to pay for a purchase.

Touch ID is the name of Apple's biometric verification tool. It was introduced with the iPhone 5S as a security device. Users can press their fingerprint on the home button on their iPhone to unlock it, verify their identity, or make purchases via Apple Pay. Apple has previously emphasised the security measures used for securing Touch ID biometric data, including encrypting and storing it in a "Secure Enclave" on the A7 chip. "Other apps never access your fingerprint data," their website says. "It's never stored on Apple servers, and it's never backed up to iCloud or anywhere else."

 Google’s next version of Google Glass could enable wearers to access websites by scanning their fingerprints or eyes instead of entering a password, as hinted by a patent application that Google submitted last month, according to a report by Quartz.

In an application to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Google proposes ways of replacing website passwords by using biometric data for a wearable device.

The filing references “head-mounted displays” (HMD) google glass , which are designed to scan the wearer’s fingerprints, eyeballs, veins, or voice pattern, and then uses the biometric data to access a website on a computer or mobile device.

Though the filing does not specify that the technology would be used for Google Glass or Android Wear, it makes several mentions of “wearables” and the diagrams included with the filing resemble that of Google Glass.

It would certainly make sense that Google is looking for new ways to secure web browsing on its devices, considering top rival Apple already introduced Touch ID fingerprint scanning in iOS 7 on the iPhone 5S.

Previously reported, Intel will supply the processor for the next version of Google Glass, which previously featured a chip made by Texas Instruments, as part of Intel’s push into the wearable technology market. The FIDO Alliance, whose members include everyone from Google to Samsung, just announced new password-free standards for regular and two-step authentication.
