The Arab Spring: Three years on

Three years ago today, on 14 January 2011, Tunisia's former president and dictator Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali stepped down after 23 years in power following an unprecedented wave of mass protests. This shock turn of events kicked into motion a snowball effect throughout the region and soon anti-government protests had spread to Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. But three years, four deposed leaders and hundreds of thousands of deaths later, where are the so-called "Arab Spring" countries now?
