When your homeland is in total ruin, with no hope and no way of getting
out, - with your enemy bent on invading you, by hook or by crook,
justifiable or otherwise, one might as well resign to passive
resistance. It is not a case of whether Assad is a great ruler or a
despot, it is for the love of one's homeland. How sad.
