Hugo Chavez's death is going to radically shift the balance of power in
Latin America and the Caribbean but not for the reasons that you are
being told on the mainstream media.Venezuela is part of OPEC, a protectionist organization meant to oligopolize the international trade of oil by focus it on the member countries. As for Chavez himself, Venezuela may not have had the resources to engage in imperialism, but he sure as hell practiced economic tyranny at home. Expropriating firms, devaluing currency and unsustainable spending. Sure, Venezuela has the "fairest" income distribution as people get more equal slices of pie, but socialism stagnates the growth of the pie.
it is good that you post different sides of the spectrum as it gives people at least the opportunity to think for themselves! is the only way anyhow. but you as well show how the media does operate and newspaper people do behave! hopefully folks after reflecting a bit will understand what oppresses them how, and why! how to think for yourself is however another issue.. most folks do not have a mind of their own they are programmed, regardless of wealth or position.
ReplyDeleteThank God for the countervailing forces opposing the "democratic" US way of life, otherwise we would be toast by now, it is refreshing to see and read alternative media away from the prostituted mainstream media or mouthpiece of the powers that be.
