Ebola Outbreak in Europe Unavoidable

The WHO director said that an Ebola outbreak in Europe is almost unavoidable. She added that more cases will likely be confirmed in the future, due to many people extensively traveling from Europe to Africa. The statement was made after Europe's first case of Ebola was confirmed in Spain. In addition to the nurse who contracted the disease, four other suspected cases have now been placed under quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus. The current epidemic, which has killed almost 35-hundred people, is the worst outbreak of the disease in history.

There’s an update on the patient who got sick after flying from West Africa to Texas. The hospital says he is now in critical condition, and doctors are trying something new. As Thomas Eric Duncan fights for his life, doctors are now administering an experimental Ebola-fighting drug. Officials first said this drug would make him even sicker. News of Duncan walking around in public, potentially exposing up to 100 other residents to Ebola is making for a much busier day for receptionists at CDC headquarters. Since Duncan became the first Ebola patient ever diagnosed in the US, 800 calls per day began pouring into the CDC. That number is a huge increase over the typical 50 or so calls per day.

The Fight Against Ebola

In Part 3 of The Fight Against Ebola, we return to Redemption Hospital in Monrovia and speak with Mohammed Sankoh, the director of the facility, which started as a holding center for patients but has since turned into a de facto treatment center. We also visit a nearby Doctors Without Borders (MSF) facility and learn about the challenges foreign healthcare workers face as they help manage the crisis. The current Ebola outbreak in West Africa began in Guinea in December 2013. From there, it quickly spread to Liberia and Sierra Leone. Today, Liberia is at the center of the epidemic, with more than 3,000 cases of infection. About half of them have been fatal. As President Barack Obama announced that he would be sending American military personnel to West Africa to help combat the epidemic, VICE News traveled to the Liberian capital of Monrovia to spend time with those on the front lines of the outbreak.

Train Derailment In Canada Sparks Massive Explosion, Sends Large Toxic Plume Into Atmosphere!

WADENA, SACKATCHEWAN-A major train derailment took place at 10:40am CST near Wadena in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan.

Reports indicate that as many as 26 railway cars have derailed, and the train was hauling a total of 100 cars. Large explosions and massive plumes of smoke have been reported by witnesses near the scene.

Officials say the smoke pouring from the accident is toxic, and due to that concern are keeping residents several miles away from the scene for their own safety.

CBC News reports that many of the trains cars contained hazardous materials that could cause environmental damage as well as become a health issue to those exposed.

Among the list of hazardous materials were several that included either hydrochloric acid or caustic soda and the other contained petroleum distillates.

Consumer confidence, housing, and retail sales figures are down, and though the job market reported growth, Hunter suggested that these were just part time and minimum wage jobs. He also expressed concern that the dollar will no longer be the world reserve currency in the near future. Regarding ISIS-- they started out as an offshoot of the Syrian rebels, who were being armed by the CIA, ostensibly to do America's dirty work, Hunter said. But when they began carrying out their own agendas such as taking over Mosul, Iraq, Pres. Obama didn't react in a timely manner, he commented.

In the second half, publisher at Tarcher/Penguin, Joel Fotinos, discussed his work researching the power of the mind to uncover one's life purpose. An expert in the life and work of Napoleon Hill, author of the bestselling book on personal prosperity-- Think and Grow Rich, Fotinos revealed some of the practical tools that inspire and motivate a person to take productive action. One of Hill's messages was that if you become a different person, you will get different results in your life. Rather than focusing on the goal of becoming rich, Hill advised people to discover their passion and burning desire, and in the process of doing that, they often ended up becoming wealthy or wealthier, Fotinos recounted.

Another of Hill's concepts was "sex transmutation," the harnessing or sublimating of physical desire into creative outlets. In Fotinos' book, My Life Contract, he suggests that people begin with a 90-day plan of moving toward their goal or passion. One of his exercises is that every morning you take five minutes to say your goal, and what actions you're going to take to move toward it. Then at the end of the day, you take another five minutes to review how you did. This helps to permeate your life with your desired outcome, he explained.

There’s a new movement in Europe that could potentially lead to a country splitting apart. Catalonia is one of the wealthiest regions in Spain, and their local government leaders say they don’t want to deal with the many layers of national bureaucracy. Instead, they want to build a better government on their own. The northeast region will vote next week to go ahead and force the issue with Madrid, who has said they won’t recognize any push for independence.

It’s very similar to a recent vote for independence in Scotland. Ultimately, the Scots voted to stay within the United Kingdom, but the move to split away from the nation is not singular to Europe. In fact, the independence movement may be closer to home than you realized.

A new Reuters poll reveals 1 in 4 Americans are open to the idea of their state pulling out of the Union and forming their own nation. Just barely over half of the poll participants said they opposed the idea. While it may be a popular move across the pond, but here in the US, no state has been so bold to try and secede from the Union in the last 150 years.

When you break it down by key issues, the unhappy voters were most upset by the failing Obama administration in several areas. Obamacare, the unraveling conflicts in the middle east, growing tensions with Russia and China and a deteriorating relationship with Israel are all reasons why Americans might consider voting to secede.

Until last year, the idea might have seemed far-fetched. But one of the strongest catalysts to the secession movement in the US stems from a recent story in Nevada. The southwest region was most likely to vote for pulling out, posting a 34 percent approval rating of the idea. The new wave of independence support is directly linked to the Bundy Ranch Standoff.  The Ebola world tour has just hit Spain. Thats right, after Spain repatiated an ebola sufferer last month, one of the nurses caring for him has taken sick with ebola, and that has led to four people, including her husband being quarantined as more tests are carried out.

The nurse was part of a medical team at the city's La Paz-Carlos III hospital that treated two Spanish missionaries who died shortly after returning from Africa with the disease.

A second nurse who also helped treat an infected priest is among the four being monitored by health workers, as is a man who arrived on a flight from Nigeria displaying symptoms.

Spain's health authorities said a total of 22 people are thought to have been in contact with the 40-year-old nurse, whose name has not been released.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Tom Frieden vowed to “stop Ebola in its tracks” in the United States while acknowledging that the Dallas outbreak could become larger than one case. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials were called to Newark Liberty International Airport Saturday after a passenger believed to be from Liberia showed signs of possible Ebola symptoms. A CDC Hazmat crew, fully dressed in protective gear, removed the passenger and his daughter from United Airlines flight 998 arriving from Brussels, ABC reported. The remaining passengers were quarantined, but have since been allowed to leave after the passenger in question was reportedly determined noncontagious.

A travel ban to the countries facing an Ebola outbreak could paradoxically make the problem worse, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Tom Frieden said during a Saturday press conference.
Western governments are now issuing alerts to doctors to be on the lookout for symptoms of the disease after an infected Liberian man was found to have traveled through a major transport hub in Nigeria. The World Health Organization has called the outbreak the worst on record, while Doctors Without Borders says the situation is “out of control.” Back in April, the Department of Defense announced that it had deployed biological diagnostic systems to National Guard support teams across the U.S. in readiness for any potential Ebola outbreak.

An American patient treated for Ebola in Nebraska then released is now in isolation in a hospital in Massachusetts. And an Ebola patient in Dallas has slipped into critical condition.

Dr. Richard Sacra, who had been previously treated for Ebola, went to an emergency room early Saturday in Boston with a cough and fever, said missionary organization Serving in Mission. He was afraid he might have pneumonia. KCTV in Kansas City reports this morning that an apartment building in the city was sealed off after a person who lives there was suspected of coming down with Ebola. Authorities said they wanted to take every precaution they could and treated the situation seriously. The patient is being treated at Research Medical Center Brookside Campus for treatment, and all or part of the medical facility was quarantined as well, a source close to the situation said. Thomas Eric Duncan, the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States, is now in critical condition, a Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital spokeswoman said Saturday.

The gist of it is that he went through a long Kafkaesque nightmare because he took his job too seriously and actually traced the source of terrorist financing to his erstwhile employers Booz Allen Hamilton, as well as the Union Bank of Switzerland and Saudi Arabia. Such a move would also enormously strengthen the West financially vis a vis the rising Asian powers.
The Russians and Chinese would accept such a move as long as it led to a cut off of terrorists attacks they experience and as long as it did not threaten their own energy interests.

The Israelis would be able to live in complete security as a Jewish autonomous zone within the expanded Turkish republic. They would also have to choose between either accepting a two-state solution with the Palestinians or, paying vast sums of reparation money to buy them out of their remaining pockets of land within Israel.

In any case, if the white hats of the West do not make such a bold move, it is game over. A recent analysis by a group known as the Geneva Report provides convincing numerical evidence that world debt is increasing far faster than world economic growth can pay for it and so, a global default looms.

EBOLA FEAR IN AMERICA - The CDC Wants People To Be Fearful & Scared of Ebola Outbreak

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Tom Frieden vowed to “stop Ebola in its tracks” in the United States while acknowledging that the Dallas outbreak could become larger than one case.

“I’m not going to promise that we can stop this at just one case, but I can tell you we have the advantage because the right steps are being taken,” Frieden wrote late Thursday in an op-ed “Even if we tried to close the border, it wouldn’t work,” Frieden said Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “People have a right to return, people transiting through could come in, and it would backfire because by isolating these countries will make it harder to help them.” Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials were called to Newark Liberty International Airport Saturday after a passenger believed to be from Liberia showed signs of possible Ebola symptoms.

The passenger was reportedly vomiting as the flight landed in New Jersey and was immediately taken to University Hospital in Newark for further evaluation, according to ABC News.

A CDC Hazmat crew, fully dressed in protective gear, removed the passenger and his daughter from United Airlines flight 998 arriving from Brussels, ABC reported.

The remaining passengers were quarantined, but have since been allowed to leave after the passenger in question was reportedly determined noncontagious.

A senior federal official told ABC News that the man exhibited “flu-like” symptoms.

“He’s now being treated with protocols as if he has it, but no clear indication at this point that he does,” the official said.

The airline’s immediate statement:

“Upon arrival at Newark Airport from Brussels, medical professionals instructed that customers and crew of United flight 998 remain on board until they could assist an ill customer,” the statement said. “We are working with authorities and will accommodate our customers as quickly as we can.”

“I’m not going to put a floor or ceiling on this,” Kirby said. President Obama initially ordered 3,000 troops to West Africa to help build hospitals, labs and treatment centers and provide logistics help. They are not going to treat Ebola victims.

A travel ban to the countries facing an Ebola outbreak could paradoxically make the problem worse, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Tom Frieden said during a Saturday press conference.

Frieden said the CDC would consider any and all precautions, but warned that a travel ban could make it harder to get medical care and aid workers to regions dealing with the outbreak.

He cited the recent delay African Union aid workers experienced trying to get to Liberia. “Their ability to get there was delayed by about a week because their flight was canceled and they were stuck in a neighboring country,” he said.

An American patient treated for Ebola in Nebraska then released is now in isolation in a hospital in Massachusetts. And an Ebola patient in Dallas has slipped into critical condition.

Dr. Richard Sacra, who had been previously treated for Ebola, went to an emergency room early Saturday in Boston with a cough and fever, said missionary organization Serving in Mission. He was afraid he might have pneumonia. KCTV in Kansas City reports this morning that an apartment building in the city was sealed off after a person who lives there was suspected of coming down with Ebola. Authorities said they wanted to take every precaution they could and treated the situation seriously. It is unknown at this time what the patient is suffering from or if anyone else is sick. The patient is being treated at Research Medical Center Brookside Campus for treatment, and all or part of the medical facility was quarantined as well, a source close to the situation said. Thomas Eric Duncan, the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States, is now in critical condition, a Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital spokeswoman said Saturday.

Officials said on Saturday that a sick passenger and his daughter that were taken off a flight from Brussels to Newark over fears he might have Ebola, does not have the disease, ABC News reported. The pair, who are believed to be from Liberia, had been escorted off the plane by officials in HAZMAT gear from the Centers for Disease Control.

US Vice President Joseph Biden has — for reasons still being clarified — just dished up a large portion of truth about recent events in Syria. Biden’s revelation came during an October 3 speech to Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Biden was responding to a question about US policy regarding Syria.

“Our allies in the region were our biggest problem in Syria,” Biden said. “The Turks are great friends and I have a great relationship with Erdogan. The Saudis, the Emiratis,etc. But what were they doing? They were so determined to take down [Syrian President Bashar al-]Assad and essentially have a proxy Sunni-Shia war that they poured hundreds of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of tons of weapons into anyone who would fight against Assad. Except the people being supplied were Al-Nusra and Al-Qaeda and extremist elements of jihadis coming from other parts of the world. We couldn’t convince our colleagues to stop supplying them.”

Biden added that these countries had “awakened” to the threat from IS and other militants: “It took a while for Turkey, a Sunni nation, to figure out that ISIL was a direct and immediate threat to their well-being,” Biden commented.

While not the whole story by any means, these observations are more accurate than any description of the Syrian crisis coming thus far from the US government.
