As a federal litigator in the late 1980s, Black played a central role in prosecuting the corruption responsible for the savings and loan crisis of the late 1980s. Since then he’s become one of America's top experts on financial fraud, which he see as endemic to the modern financial system.
In this interview, Black expresses his lament that the U.S. has descended into a type of crony capitalism that makes continued fraud a virtual certainty while increasingly neutering the safeguards intended to prevent and punish such abuse. The Prime Minister said that further sanctions would be slapped on Moscow if it continued to “bully” former Soviet bloc state Ukraine David Cameron issued a fresh warning to Russia over Ukraine as he prepared for a showdown with Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit on Saturday.

We should learn the lessons of history and make sure it doesn’t happen again,” he said on a visit to the Australian capital Canberra.
The Prime Minister claimed the Western sanctions already in place were starting to hurt the Russian economy. But he added: “If Russia continues to make matters worse we could see sanctions increase. It’s as simple as that.”

Radioactive water may still be entering tunnels

The operator of the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant faces another challenge in its effort to address radioactive water at the complex.
It says highly contaminated water may still be flowing from reactor buildings into adjacent underground tunnels even after a work to stem the flow ended.
The water in the tunnels is believed to be leaking into the sea. Tokyo Electric Power Company plans to pump the tainted water out of the tunnels and fill them with cement.
To prepare for the process, the firm began work in April to stem the flow of radioactive water between the reactor buildings and the tunnels. It involved freezing some of the water as well as plugging the gaps with filler materials.
TEPCO finished the work on November 6th. But workers found that water levels in the reactor buildings and the tunnels are still linked. They note this suggests that the flow of radioactive water between them may not have been stopped.
TEPCO officials say that if the situation doesn't improve, they may start filling the tunnels with cement even before they finish removing contaminated water.
New Fukushima Governor Inspects Plant

The new governor of Fukushima has called for all nuclear reactors in the prefecture to be permanently closed.
Three days after taking office, Masao Uchibori visited Fukushima Dai-ichi power plant on Friday to inspect the process for decommissioning reactors. They were damaged by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
Uchibori observed ongoing work to dismantle a reactor building cover. A project began last month to clear debris and to eventually remove the nuclear fuel.
The governor also inspected equipment used to decontaminate radioactive water.
Relatives of man who killed himself to sue TEPCO

Relatives of a man who killed himself after the 2011 nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant plan to sue its operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company.
On April 11th, 2011, one month after the accident, the central government showed a plan to designate Iitate Village in Fukushima Prefecture as an evacuation zone.
The following day, Fumio Okubo committed suicide at his home at the age of 102. He was the oldest person in the village at the time. He had said he could not evacuate from where he'd lived for a century.
The 3 relatives plan to file a suit with the Tokyo District Court as soon as next month. They say they'll seek damages of at least 30 million yen, or about 260,000 dollars.

More than 2,800 evacuees from a village near the damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant are seeking state arbitration for a rise in compensation from Tokyo Electric Power Company, the plant's operator.
Iitate Village is still an evacuation zone three years and eight months after the nuclear accident at the power plant. But decontamination work is proceeding across the village, which is located about 40 kilometers from the plant.
About half the village's population, or 2,837 evacuees, filed for arbitration with the Center for Settlement of Fukushima Nuclear Damage Claims on Friday.

Guccifer – the Romanian hacker who accessed private email accounts of numerous top government & military officials as well as the Bush & Rockefeller family – is quoted in the New York Times as predicting a nuclear attack on Chicago sometime in 2015.
A portion of his statement is raising some eyebrows, and is also discussed in the Prison Planet video below, where he talks about conspiracies, including the 1997 death of Princess Diana and plans for a nuclear attack in Chicago Illinois in 2015, to which he states “This world is run by a group of conspirators called the Council of Illuminati, very rich people, noble families, bankers and industrialists from the 19th and 20th century.”
He smashed his hard drive and cellphone with an ax. That spasm of precautionary destruction, at his home in Romania’s Transylvania region, did not help him much — especially as he left pieces of what would later become evidence scattered in the mud.
Two weeks later, on Jan. 22, a global hunt for the celebrated and mysterious hacker who first revealed self-portraits painted by George W. Bush and plundered a trove of personal emails from politicians, military officers and celebrities finally ended in an early morning raid of his home.
“I was expecting them, but the shock was still very big for me,” the hacker, now serving a seven-year sentence, said. He spoke in an interview, his first, at the Arad Penitentiary here. “It is hard to be a hacker, but even harder to erase your tracks.”
To cover his tracks, he launched most of his raids through a proxy server in Russia. He figured that would hide any fingerprints leading back to Romania, where he already had a police record. That followed a 2011 conviction for hacking into the email accounts of Romanian starlets and other celebrities under the name Micul Fum, or Little Smoke. Mr. Lazar denied any interest in celebrities, asserting that he had only stumbled on most of the people he hacked as Guccifer, a long list that included the actress Mariel Hemingway, the “Sex and the City” author Candace Bushnell, the editor Tina Brown, the comedian Steve Martin, the author Kitty Kelley and many others.
