This is exactly my own thoughts on the issue as well. The fear mongering about the virus itself, the doomsday mutation scenario, is silly. The path to meaningful mutation is not likely. I rolled my eyes at the concern for mankind's inability to deal with it.

What I did find troubling was our ruler's inability to deal with it. The bureaucrats have poisoned the incentives to deal with this issue to the point where all the agencies helped spread infection more than they've prevented it.

The next obvious step will be a heavy handed outburst of fevered fumbling to look like they are in control, mobilizing for show as much as out of ignorance. They made the mistake of pushing the usual scare mongering that so often sends us rushing into their clutching hands. Normally, such things keep people enthralled. However, if there is an actual problem they are failing to address in a way they can't keep quiet, then they've only stirred up people to look at them while they fail to solve the problem.

Everything You Need To Know About Ebola - Separating Facts From Fiction

At present, about 8,000 people have been confirmed as diagnosed with Ebola, and of those 3,865 have, sadly, died. This is a fatality rate of 48% (though it could increase as some of those still ill die) – tragically high, but not nearly as bad as it could be.

U.S. TROOPS Going To West Africa to FIGHT EBOLA

Thousands of U.S. troops may be living in tent cities in Liberia and supporting the fight against Ebola for "about a year" or until the deadly outbreak appears to be under control, the top military commander in Africa said Tuesday.

"This is not a small effort and it's not a short period of time," Army Gen. David Rodriguez, the chief of U.S. Africa Command, told reporters at the Pentagon.

About 350 U.S. troops are now in West Africa and total deployments may reach 4,000 during the next several weeks. The size and scope of the mission has expanded from initial estimates in September, when officials said it would last about six months and require about 3,000 troops.

Pentagon officials emphasize that troops will not provide medical care or have direct contact with Ebola patients. The military mission is to support civilian health care efforts through construction of new facilities, providing logistics support and training locals in prevention methods.

Rodriguez said protocols for ensuring U.S. personnel do not contract the potentially deadly disease will include wearing gloves and masks but not complete full-body protective suits. They will wash their hands and feet multiple times a day. The FDA on Monday granted an emergency use application for an experimental treatment, brincidofovir, produced by North Carolina-based Chimerix, for use in patients with Ebola. The drug is being given reportedly to Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian man now fighting Ebola at a Dallas medical center.

Around 200 airport workers responsible for cleaning aircraft walked off the job today. The workers say airports are not keeping them safe from the possibility of infection. The commander of the U.S. Southern Command, Marine Corps Gen. John F. Kelly, told an audience at the National Defense University illegal immigrants may bring Ebola to the United States. The president of the World Bank, Jim Kim, admitted on Wednesday that the international community had “failed miserably” in its response to the Ebola virus that has killed more than 3,800 people in west Africa and warned that the crisis now affecting Spain and the US was going to get much worse.

The first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States died on Wednesday, underscoring questions about the quality of care he received, and the government ordered five airports to start screening passengers from West Africa for fever.

Liberian national Thomas Eric Duncan died in an isolation ward of a Dallas hospital, 11 days after being admitted on Sept. 28.

The case has stirred attention and concern that someone with Ebola had been able to fly into the United States from Liberia, raising the specter more passengers could arrive and spread the disease outside of West Africa, where nearly 4,000 people have died in three impoverished countries.

William Binney : NSA Big Brother is Watching You

William Edward Binney is a former highly placed intelligence official with the United States National Security Agency (NSA) turned whistleblower who resigned on October 31, 2001, after more than 30 years with the agency. He was a high-profile critic of his former employers during the George W. Bush administration.

Binney continues to speak out during Barack Obama's presidency about the NSA's data collection policies, and continues interviews in the media regarding his experiences and his views on communication intercepts by governmental agencies of American citizens. In a legal case, Binney has testified in an affidavit that the NSA is in deliberate violation of the U.S. Constitution.

In September 2002, he, along with J. ALERT -- Second Ebola Case in Texas

Crews transported a patient exhibiting "signs and symptoms of Ebola" from a Frisco CareNow to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. "Right now, there are more questions than answers about this case," said Wendell Watson, a spokesman with the hospital. The patient was identified as Sgt. Michael Monnig, a deputy who accompanied county health officials Zachary Thompson and Christopher Perkins into the apartment where Thomas Eric Duncan stayed in Dallas. The deputy was ordered to go inside the unit with officials to get a quarantine order signed. No one who went inside the unit that day wore protective gear. According to Christopher Dyer, with the Dallas County Sheriff's Association, Monnig said he was feeling sick to his stomach before his visit to the clinic. Dyer expressed concern for Monnig and his family. The CareNow is located in the 300 block of Main Street. Patients are currently being held inside the clinic as crews at the scene examine staff and others inside the building. "The patient claims to have had contact with the Dallas 'patient zero,'" according to a statement from Dana Baird-Hanks, a spokeswoman with the city of Frisco. Health officials said the transportation of the patient was done out of an abundance of caution. "We are being very cautious and are in contact with the health department to ensure we follow proper protocol," said Vicki Johns, with CareNow. "Our concern is for the safety and well being of everyone in our clinic." News 8's Jason Whitely spoke to Chuck Moreno, who had gone into the CareNow facility with his 15-year-old son to get a flu shot Wednesday. Moreno said he saw a patient, whose skin was flushed and who was hunched over but walking, enter the clinic with his wife. Within minutes, police and fire units surrounded the facility, taped off a gray SUV, and isolated other patients at the facility. Moreno asked a CareNow employee if it was related to Ebola, and he said the employee nodded her head "yes." Moreno said he and his son quarantined themselves into an examination room, put on surgical masks they found in the room and sprayed disinfectant on themselves. Moreno said staff told them he and his son couldn't leave the clinic and would be transferred to a major medical center, but he was unsure which one at the time.
