End time (also called end times, end of time, end of days, last days, final days, or eschaton) is a time period described in the eschatologies of the dominant world religions, both Abrahamic and non-Abrahamic.
The Abrahamic faiths maintain a linear cosmology, with end-time scenarios containing themes of transformation and redemption. In Judaism, the term "end of days" makes reference to the Messianic Age, and includes an in-gathering of the exiled diaspora, the coming of the mashiach, olam haba, and resurrection of the Tsadikim. In Buddhism, the Buddha predicted that his teachings would be forgotten after 5,000 years, followed by turmoil. A bodhisattva named Maitreya will appear and rediscover the teaching of dharma. The ultimate destruction of the world will then come through seven suns.
Since the discovery of deep time and the age of the Earth, scientific discourse about end time has centered on the ultimate fate of the universe. Theories have included the Big Rip, Big Crunch, Big Bounce, and Big Freeze.

Radioactive Water May Have Leaked at Fukuahimi Daiichi Plant

Workers at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant have found a small amount of liquid that may have leaked from a container of highly radioactive wastewater.
The plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company, says the workers detected the liquid on the lid of the container at around 1 PM on Thursday.
TEPCO says when the workers touched the container, a small volume of liquid leaked from a hole on the upper part. TEPCO surmised it is wastewater. The hole is to vent its gas.
The resin container measures 1.5 meters in diameter and 1.8 meters in height. The wastewater comes from a system to treat contaminated water. It includes substances such as magnesium and a high density of radioactive materials.
The utility says the liquid has not leaked out of a structure housing the container. The facility is made from concrete.
TEPCO says it will analyze the liquid's contents and determine why it has pooled on the lid. They add that depending on the results, they will also examine more than 670 containers in the same facility.

Public interest attorney Steven M. Druker, as executive director of the Alliance for Bio-Integrity, initiated a lawsuit that forced the FDA to divulge its files on genetically engineered foods. In the first half, he discussed what he considers to be the biggest scientific fraud of our age - how politically appointed administrators have covered up the warnings of their own scientists about the risks of GMO foods, and the lack of rigorous testing. When you look at all the evidence, from the FDA's own scientists, and many other scientists, it's clear that "genetically engineered foods entail a higher level of risk than conventional foods. That level of risk is unacceptable...No consumer should have ever have been subjected to that new amount of risk without very careful safety testing," he remarked, adding that "it's outrageous that a whole slew of these foods was allowed onto the marketplace in the United States in flagrant violation of federal food safety laws."
As far back as 2001, an expert panel of the Royal Society of Canada released a report that faulted the then current regulatory system, noting that it's scientifically unjustified to say that genetically engineered foods are safe, and the default presumption should be that unintended side effects can occur, and there has to be careful testing to rule out negative consequences. This report was ignored in the US, Druker pointed out, "and the mainstream scientific establishment tries to pretend...that every respected scientific organization has concluded these foods are safe." That's not true-- the Royal Society, the Public Health Association of Australia, the Academy for Environmental Medicine, and editors of the esteemed medical journal, The Lancet, have all questioned the safety of GMO foods, he cited.

In the latter half, Rosemary Ellen Guiley, a leading expert in the metaphysical and paranormal fields, talked about nightmares and dreams, and the messages they convey. We all have disturbing dreams from time to time, when we're in scary situations. The most common theme of nightmares have to do with being in danger, pursued or attacked, or having to flee for safety, she detailed. There is often an underlying cause to nightmares-- something that has upset our balance during waking hours,and we carry that anxiety into the dream state, she said.
Nightmares, she continued, can be generated by bad sleeping habits, certain medical conditions (such as sleep apnea), a large number of pharmaceutical medications, poor nutrition, or even inherited physiological conditions. Interestingly, the author Bram Stoker was said to conceive the idea for Dracula during a nightmare, after an earlier dinner of bad seafood. There are some beneficial uses for nightmares, such as when they are recognized as early warnings of health issues, or cues to get ourselves out of stressful situations, Guiley offered. She also spoke about the power of precognitive dreams, and how symbolism can be interpreted in dream content.

Early-rising observers all over the United States should be able to see at least the partial phases of the April 4 lunar eclipse just before the sun rises, if weather permits. People on the West Coast will have the chance to see the moon turn an eerie shade of red during totality, which should begin at about 7:58 a.m. EDT (1158 GMT, 4:58 a.m. PDT). NASA this week unveiled a video detailing the total lunar eclipse, and dubbed the event the shortest lunar eclipse of the century in an announcement on Monday (March 30) in detail.
Observers in other parts of the world will have an even better chance to see the lunar eclipse. Stargazers in Australia, Japan, China, and Southeast Asia will get the chance to see the eclipse on the night of April 4, according to Sky & Telescope. (Sky & Telescope predicts that the total phase of the eclipse will actually last about 9 to 12 minutes starting at 7:54 a.m. EDT.)
