 George Noory hosted a panel of experts on the Middle East and terrorism, for a discussion on the history of ISIS, and the threats they pose to the US and Western countries.. Columnist and author Jerome Corsi and adventurer and journalist Robert Young Pelton appeared together in hours 2 & 3. ISIS aims to establish a worldwide Sunni Caliphate, and is a natural enemy of Iran (Shiite) but also threatens Sunni states such as Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, Corsi detailed. ISIS, which has been characterized by brutal actions such as beheadings, has spread across the Middle East from its origins in Syria as an opposition group to Assad (the US helped finance and arm ISIS in early days), Corsi continued.

Pelton referred to ISIS as an "asymmetrical threat," as we know them through their graphic videos, rather than any kind of political representatives or ambassadors. Such Jihadi groups have a core management which hires paid fighters that go along with "hangers on"-- typically former military members that have joined up during vacuums of power, Pelton explained. We're going to see a very rapid rollback of ISIS into Syria, and then US policy will shift as to how we deal with the situation, he added. "Politically, I think President Obama is trying to sidestep the fallout that's about to happen. You're going to see massacres," but the US won't take the blame for it "because it's more politically expedient to let the locals fight it out," Pelton remarked.

Journalist Michael Weiss, joining the show in the last hour, pointed out that ISIS has actually been around for 11 years, but just changed their name in recent times. A lot of disbanded members of the Iraqi military "melted into the insurgency," and found their way into ISIS, which combines elements of a terrorist organization, a mafia, and a political party, and reflects the rebounding of the Baath party under the new banner of jihad, he argued. Weiss pondered what happens after "we win the war against ISIS," and suggested it could actually foment a political crisis leading to an Islamic revolution in Iraq.
Lost City in Honduras

First half-hour guest, engineer and investigator of Mayan technology, James O'Kon, talked about the discovery of a lost city in the Honduran jungle, which dates back centuries ago. In contrast to the Maya who were also in Honduras, nothing is known about the builders of this mysterious town, which is thought to possibly be the 'White City" or "City of the Monkey God" of legend. The location is in a very dense, remote part of the Rain Forest, and was first discovered in an aerial sweep, O'Kon noted.

Why and How the CIA Was Created: History, Secret Operations, Myths (2000)

 The CIA succeeded the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), formed during World War II to coordinate secret espionage activities against the Axis Powers for the branches of the United States Armed Forces. The National Security Act of 1947 established the CIA, affording it "no police or law enforcement functions, either at home or abroad".There has been considerable criticism of the CIA relating to security and counterintelligence failures, failures in intelligence analysis, human rights concerns, external investigations and document releases, influencing public opinion and law enforcement, drug trafficking, and lying to Congress. Others, such as Eastern bloc defector Ion Mihai Pacepa, have defended the CIA as "by far the world’s best intelligence organization," and argued that CIA activities are subjected to scrutiny unprecedented among the world's intelligence agencies.

According to its fiscal 2013 budget, the CIA has five priorities: Counterterrorism, the top priority, given the ongoing Global War on Terror. Nonproliferation of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction, with North Korea described as perhaps the most difficult target. Warning American leaders of important overseas events, with Pakistan described as an "intractable target". Counterintelligence, with China, Russia, Iran, Cuba, and Israel described as "priority" targets. Cyber intelligence.

In September 1947, the National Security Act of 1947 established both the National Security Council and the Central Intelligence Agency.[75] Rear Admiral Roscoe H. Hillenkoetter was appointed as the first Director of Central Intelligence, and one of the first secret operations under him was the successful support of the Christian Democrats in Italy.[76] Critics of the CIA point to the failure to predict the South Korean attack or the subsequent Chinese support in 1950.[77]

The National Security Council Directive on Office of Special Projects, June 18, 1948 (NSC 10/2) further gave the CIA the authority to carry out covert operations "against hostile foreign states or groups or in support of friendly foreign states or groups but which are so planned and conducted that any U.S. government responsibility for them is not evident to unauthorized persons and that if uncovered the US Government can plausibly disclaim any responsibility for them."[78]

In 1949, the Central Intelligence Agency Act (Public law 81-110) authorized the agency to use confidential fiscal and administrative procedures, and exempted it from most of the usual limitations on the use of Federal funds. It also exempted the CIA from having to disclose its "organization, functions, officials, titles, salaries, or numbers of personnel employed." It also created the program "PL-110", to handle defectors and other "essential aliens" who fall outside normal immigration procedures, as well as giving those persons cover stories and economic support.[79]

Then-DCI Walter Bedell Smith, who enjoyed a special degree of Presidential trust because he had been Dwight D. Eisenhower's primary Chief of Staff during World War II, insisted that the CIA – or at least only one department – had to direct the OPC and OSO. Those organizations, as well as some minor functions, formed the euphemistically named Directorate of Plans in 1952.

Also in 1952, United States Army Special Forces were created, with some missions overlapping those of the Department of Plans. In general, the pattern emerged that the CIA could borrow resources from Special Forces, although it had its own special operators.

Most Americans Are Slaves And They Don’t Even Know It -- Michael Snyder

The Powers That Be have set up a system in which there is no winning for the average person out there.
The only way to win is to be in business for yourself. And that path is pretty much closed down by the IRS. They go after small businesses more than any other group of people in the country. The number of people that survive in a small business past 5 years is very small.
Let us say you have a steady job until retirement. You might go from making a salary 52 weeks a year counting paid vacations in that year, life insurance, pensions(not really they copped out with 401Ks instead of pensions), and eventually Social Security.
Social Security and all pensions are set up on 12 monthly payments. 12 months equals 48 weeks, not 52. So you are absorbing a month’s worth of losses if you are on pensions and Social Security over a year’s time. Every 3 months there is an extra week. So 3 months is actually 13 weeks not 12. Medicare does not cover you completely if you get sick. Medicaid kindly picks your pocket to the tune of everything you ever saved before it kicks in with a communistic zeal.
The “working” person gets stuck with most of the taxes in this country. The “working” person is becoming extinct as more and more businesses subcontract the work to places like India.
The college education was promoted first by the U.S. Military by insisting that any officer after world war II had to get a college education or face demotion to the ranks.
The rules put in place by the country club we call the Congress was instituted mainly by people that were multimillionaires and most inherited that money from previous generations when the rules permitted one to own and thrive in a business.
So go figure where the current game rules of business and taxes and health care all came from.
We are not alone. Most places have similar rules to keep the peasants in place.
It gradually came to what it is today. It did not happen over night and it will not change over night by any way I know of.
It used to be that buying a home was a way to prosperity. The Congress has done an excellent job of ruining that for everyone.
Those Real Estate Taxes were designed to rob the rich, not the middle class. But inflation of house prices and wage increases to match have put an entirely different meaning to the word “rich” to include most everyone.
This is coming to an end. The housing market has crashed and those taxes do not cover school expenses or anything else right now. I have seen a 32,000 dollar reduction in the value of my property in 8 years.
The only people that can “own” a car today are people that are car techs willing to restore a vehicle that is down. The government has made sure that cars are not fixable in a barn any more.
The EPA has had a hand in that.
The “system” is to keep the common person broke their entire life. If they do happen to beat that system and get savings behind them, then they get caught in the health net and are eventually broken financially before they can die and children can inherit anything.
My advice would be to find a boss that is nice to you. One that treats his slaves good. Don’t work hard. It is not appreciated by the people over the top of you. Figure out how to work just hard enough to get by.
Work smart, not hard. And if by some stroke of luck you find something to sell to the world that everyone wants, get someone else to do all the work of making you the money.

White Slavery in the Mediterranean -- Robert Davis

 Robert Davis is a professor of Italian Renaissance and pre-modern Mediterranean history at Ohio State University. He has published six books and is best known for his research that culminated in Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters: White Slavery in the Mediterranean, the Barbary Coast and Italy. We begin our discussion with a look into the world of enslavement that is not commonly imparted in Western History. Robert tells about the Barbary Corsairs who ruled a slave industry during the same time of the Transatlantic slave trade. These pirates would capture ships from various European countries and enslave their predominately Christian crews. Robert explains the time frame of Columbus' voyage to the New World in 1492, and Barbarossa's systematic attack of the coast of Spain shortly thereafter, which supplied a vast amount of Spaniard slaves to the New World. We look at the small minority of slaves that actually made it to North America, and the millions of others that were captured and sold from Morocco to Libya and distributed throughout the New World, including the Caribbean and Brazil. Then, Robert describes the European industry of ransoming slaves, bringing about a huge wealth transfer from Europe to North Africa. He details the motives for capturing Christian slaves, the use of women as sex slaves, state owned ships powered by enslaved rowing galleys, and the conditions of slave life. Further, we discuss the US's involvement in the slave trade with the high stakes business of paying ransoms. Robert illustrates the stories of Christian slaves who were forced to convert to Islam by their captors, and vice versa. Robert also talks about the large number of slaves that were taken out of Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and other countries to the north of Africa. In conclusion, we discuss the changing nature of warfare in the Mediterranean and beyond, the decline of Christian slavery, and the lack of a definitive history of the slave trade beyond the US.
