BALTIMORE RIOTS - Governor Will Bring FULL MIGHT of the MILITARY / POLICE to BRING IN LAW & ORDER

 
The governor of Maryland promised Tuesday to put the appropriate assets in place to prevent further looting that was seen in Baltimore in the past 24 hours in reaction to the funeral of Freddie Gray, a young black man who died while in police custody.

Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican, said officials in his cabinet have been meeting with city leaders to better prepare for any new unrest. Hogan said he would not point fingers about the city's response under Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.

Rawlings-Blake was under intense pressure to defend her response to the violence that has ripped apart her city following Gray's funeral, particularly her remarks in which she suggested those who "wished to destroy" need their space.

With more than a dozen officers injured in clashes with rioters and looters, some -- including Hogan-- are questioning whether Rawlings-Blake should have acted sooner and taken a tougher tone to prevent the demonstrations from getting out of control.

"When the mayor called me, which quite frankly we were glad that she finally did, instantly we signed the executive order," Hogan said earlier. "We [had] our entire team prepared. ... We were trying to get in touch with the mayor for quite some time. She finally made that call and we immediately took action."

This is a glimpse of what a martial law scenario would look like with militarized police and national guard being deployed to quell the riots in Baltimore. “No, it’s not the right word to call our children ‘thugs,’” Stokes said, when Burnett brought up the point.. “These are children who have been set aside, marginalized, who have not been engaged by us.”

“But how does that justify what they did?” Burnett argued. “That’s a sense of right and wrong. They know it’s wrong to steal and burn down a CVS and an old persons’ home. I mean, come on.”

To read and hear about the word "whistleblower" brings to mind the unimaginable and daunting task it must be to be in the constant line of fire. To be called, dishonest, a disinformation agent, crazy or a conspiracy nut, are only a few of the names carried on the shoulders of such brave men and women. The stigma never goes away and the weight of its meaning can debilitate the heart and soul of any individual who should voluntarily, carry its burden. One such whistleblower, Clark McClelland has walked the walk of a truthseeker, enduring hardships and ill health and yet, fearlessly carrying on with his message, a message that has not changed through the course of time.

Looking into Clark's eyes, it was easy to see his convictions glimmering through his eyes, they never faltered not even with his bouts with intense physical pain that he endured throughout our visit. Images, stories and friendships all merged together becoming clear and comprehensible, as Clark explained each account of his life and those close to him. I sat across from Clark wishing things were different for him and thinking that if a man like him can be taken down to poverty, are there no limits to what "these" people can do.

It's different when you see, intelligence and passion slowly ebbing away from a weakened body. It's different when you see a whistleblower face to face and you know there isn't much you can do to help them. I realized I could only give Clark my support and admiration but in the scheme of things, this feels like so little. Maybe friendship becomes more important to a whistleblower because the road they walk can become very lonely.

Interestingly enough, Clark gave me a gift without me even realizing it at first, one day thinking back about our wonderful dinner, I finally understood what makes history happen. Its men and women like Clark McClelland, who are willing to take on the modern Goliaths of our time, just like the unassuming David did. Perhaps if we are lucky, whistleblowers like Clark will be victorious in not just seeking the truth but in getting it out to the masses. Its truth that changes history but the real question is, can society handle the truth.

Now this is Mike speaking , I have read that he is a liar , a hoax and a con man , Rainbow and I sat with him, he is none of the above.  Chicago Police Plan To Listen After Officer Acquitted In Death Of Unarmed Woman

Hoping to mend the tattered relationship between the police department and Chicago's minority communities, the city's top cop announced plans Tuesday for a "neighborhood outreach" tour.

The police department will hold a series of meetings across the city to hear from residents, ministers and community leaders, Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said in a statement. The dates and locations of those meetings were not announced.

"Our officers are the backbone of our public safety efforts, but we all have a role to play in the safety of our city and these sessions will be an important vehicle for us to partner with residents, ministers and community leaders,” McCarthy said. "This initiative will help strengthen the relationship between the Department and residents we serve as well as build trust, which is crucial to our efforts in lowering crime and ensuring everyone enjoys the same level of safety."

Hubble & Space Exploration -- Coast To Coast AM - April 27, 2015

In the first half, political commentator and economist John Lott reacted to the breaking news on the riots in Baltimore, which arose in the aftermath of the death of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old African American whose spine was "80% severed" after being taken into police custody. "Even if it turns out to be correct that the police behaved improperly, what does that have to do with destroying all these little businesses that are around there-- what do those individuals have to to do with this?", he pondered. In response to the rioting, which has included arson and looting, police have been restrained, perhaps too restrained, he commented, yet this may be in relation to credible threats made by gangs such as the Crips and Bloods to "take out" law enforcement officers.

People complain about the militarization of the police, but much of what they are using is of a practical nature-- protective gear and vehicles that can shield them from attacks, such as rocks and broken bottles being thrown at them, Lott explained. There's been a building up of animosity and anger since the Trayvon Martin case, and incidents that followed such as what happened in Ferguson, Missouri with the police shooting of Michael Brown that has "really created a tinderbox," he remarked. In Baltimore, the rioters are destroying their own community, and will be bearing the long term costs-- instead they should be focusing on bringing to justice those who may have done something wrong in the Freddie Gray case, he argued.

In the latter half, space historian Robert Zimmerman reflected on the 25th anniversary of the Hubble Space telescope which has reinvigorated and reshaped our perception of the cosmos, and he also offered commentary on current and future space exploration and research ventures. Before Hubble was launched, astronomers' vision of the cosmos was fuzzy. But after the space telescope began to orbit beyond Earth's atmosphere, it offered the first sharp look at the universe, he detailed. Even the naysayers to the project were won over by the edifying results that came back, he added.

Hubble is "the telescope that would not die," successfully being repaired in the 1990s when it initially launched with an out-of-focus mirror, as well as receiving new instrumentation in the 2000s to extend its lifespan, he continued.
