US Senator John McCain dies aged 81

United States Senator John McCain has died at the age of 81. The announcement of his death came less than 48 hours after his family said McCain was ending medical efforts to treat his brain cancer. McCain was the 2008 Republican party presidential nominee, and a distinguished military veteran.
