many Americans (and citizens of other Western countries) falsely believed they're countries were above propaganda. They were told they have more freedoms than "over there". Manipulation in a "democracy" or "republic" simply hid behind the curtain instead of flaunting out in front. Now it's too late, the damage is done, and too many citizens are gaslighted into believing the fifth estate could never manipulate/obfuscate/stage/outright lie to push agendas. There even doubting the existence of said agendas.
