Donald Trump outlines foreign-policy plans in first UK interview

Just days before he is to be sworn in as the next US president, Donald Trump has outlined some of his foreign-policy plans in his first UK interview, to the Times newspaper, Among them: A possible deal with the Kremlin to ease sanctions if Russia reduces the size of its nuclear arsenal. He described NATO as obsolete and reiterated his opposition to the Iran nuclear deal, saying it is one of the “dumbest” agreements ever made. But he did not say if he would tear it up. Speaking about Germany's leader, he said Angela Merkel had made a “catastrophic mistake” in allowing a million refugees and migrants into her country last year. Among other issues, he said Britain's exit from the EU would turn out to be a great thing but promised to strike a swift trade deal with the UK. Al Jazeera's James Bays reports from Washington DC.
