Orlando shooter’s father a prominent Afghan political figure & Taliban supporter

Seddique Mateen, the Orlando shooter’s father, has been revealed as an ardent supporter of the Taliban. The man is somewhat a celebrity in Afghan-American circles for his online presence and occasional TV appearances, where his hardline pro-Taliban beliefs come out. Meanwhile, he can be seen in pictures visiting the State Department, but the agency claims to have no documentation of the visit.
