BREAKING: SHOOTER IDENTIFIED IN GAY ORLANDO NIGHTCLUB AS OMAR MATEEN - 50 DEAD AND 53 WOUNDED

50 people are now dead after a suspected Islamic extremist opened fire overnight in the prominent gay Orlando night club, Pulse. Law enforcement identified the shooter, who used an assault rifle and a handgun, as US citizen, Omar Mateen, who was a resident of Port Saint Lucie, Florida. The gunman, born to Afghan parents, was carrying a suspicious device, possibly a suicide vest. Orlando Police have not determined the exact number of people killed, but confirmed 'approximately 50' have died, and another 52 people were taken to hospital. An FBI spokesman said, the mass shooting is being investigated as an act of terrorism. Police said the gunman, who was shot dead by officers, was believed to be in his 20s, while the FBI believe he may have 'leanings to radical Islamic terrorism'.
