France: Le Pen promises 'Frexit,'
Leader of the National Front Marine Le Pen expressed her support for the 'Brexit' referendum and vowed to hold a similar vote in France if she win the next presidential election, during a press conference in the National Assembly in Paris, Thursday.
SOT, Marine le Pen, President of the Front National (French): "On June 23, a public referendum will be held in the United Kingdom on their membership of the European Union. I'm supporting the 'Brexit' with all my strength and with all my heart as a free French person, as a lover of free nations and due to liberty and diversity in the world. This referendum is the first in a series, of that I am convinced. If I am elected the head of the Republic in the next election, I will organise one for France. It's for our country all the same, for its core identity, for its schools, for its economic and social prosperity, for justice and security that should, for all generations, be carried out through liberty."
SOT, Marine le Pen, President of the Front National (French): "I rejoiced at this victory for my friend Geert Wilders, and it was at the centre of the campaign for the name of the referendum, it is initially about deciding on the European agreement with Ukraine. But, the reality is that this referendum became a referendum on defiance in the face of the European Union. This defiance is shown in countries in general."
SOT, Marine le Pen, President of the Front National (French): "I seriously hope that the referendum - proposed by Marine le Pen after her election to the head of the French Republic - the 'Frexit', will be proposed to the French people. But it is because I would have been elected, with me and my interests, an opinion that shows the majority of French people would like to organise a referendum on their exit from the European Union."
