What Does The First Amendment Really Protect?








Out of the 27 amendments to the U.S. constitution, none is more revered than the first. So what rights does the first amendment protect?
 "The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition."
 "The First Amendment's Establishment Clause prohibits the government from making any law "respecting an establishment of religion."
