US under Fire for Mass Spying Programs Worldwide

Whistleblower website WikiLeaks has revealed that the US National Security Agency has spied on the Japanese government and major companies.

The leaked documents show that the NSA has been snooping on a number of Japanese ministries and offices. WikiLeaks has published a list of at least 35 institutions and officials targeted by the US espionage program. According to the whistleblower website, internal Japanese discussions on international trade and climate change policy have also been wiretapped. The NSA has been under fire for its mass surveillance programs since its former contractor Edward Snowden began leaking documents in 2013.
