Russia is 'biggest threat' to American national security - US air force chief
The nominee to be the next chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff says Russia poses the greatest national security threat to the United States. Marine General Joseph Dunford said it would be a reasonable military decision to supply lethal arms to Ukrainians fighting against pro-Russia forces. Relations between Russia and the West have hit the lowest levels since the Cold War era. This has been blamed on a range of issues, including what Russia considered NATO’s eastward expansion. Moscow believes the close relationship between Ukraine’s new government and the West is part of a plan to encircle Russia.
