Earthquake Off the West Coast Of Oregon- Be Ready For a Big One
The New Madrid Fault lies on either side of the Mississippi, and experienced major earthquakes in 1811 and 1895. The quakes affected the eastern half of the US: Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana, with damage to Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Iowa. At the time, those states were not heavily populated but when it occurs--again--it will do inestimable damage to some or all of those states and economically to the entire country. Something to keep in mind!
