2/24/2015 -- Large CME (coronal mass ejection) -- Unnamed comet SURVIVES solar flyby

A very large Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) occurred off the Eastern Limb of the Sun.

Captured in multiple views from the SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory), and rendered in multiple color composites to reveal the different layers of this large ejection of plasma energy , particles flowing along the magnetic fields of the active regions below.

At the end of this video, in the full shot , which includes frames from the SOHO LASCO C2 + C3, reveals a large comet flyby, in which this as yet unnamed comet survives its near pass of the Sun.
