Humans naturally gravitate towards what is comfortable. Once they are happy they don't want to leave that comfort zone. Ignorance is bliss.
So true. When the news reporter says something is bad it is automatically programmed in the minds of mainstream Americans that it is. When they say something is good it is assumed it must be so.
