ALERT -- Russia, Iran agree to build 8 New Nuclear Plants

Tehran and Moscow have struck a deal to build eight additional nuclear power plants in Iran. The contract was signed between Russia’s state nuclear energy Ros-atom and Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization in Moscow. Based on the deal, up to four of the stations are planned to be built in Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. The remaining four are expected to be constructed elsewhere in Iran but the exact location is not determined yet. Moscow and Tehran will also look into the possibility of producing components of nuclear fuel in Iran in the future. Iran’s nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi has hailed the deal as a turning point in relations between the two countries.
