Wayne Madsen : CIA Director secretly supports ISIS

American author Wayne Madsen says CIA Director John O. Brennan is a Saudophile and secretly supports the ISIL terrorist group, which is operating in Iraq and Syria.

The director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) “is an absolute Saudophile and he loves Saudi Arabia, and I believe covertly he supports ISIL,” Madsen told Press TV in an interview on Tuesday.

“But the Obama administration has a huge problem because this is a Frankenstein monster,” said Madsen, an investigative journalist, author and columnist specializing in intelligence and international affairs.

He made the remarks when asked about a report that the US offered the Kurds in northern Iraq air support to fight the ISIL.

According to Kurdish newspaper Rudaw, an anonymous high-ranking US official said Washington has “offered the Kurds air support in their fight against” the terrorist group.

Madsen said the US offer of support shows Washington lacks a consistent policy with regard to the Middle East.

“This shows the inconsistency in US policy in the Middle East, after all it was the United States that helped arm and train some of the same individuals who are now seizing control of dams on the Euphrates River that are killing Yazidis and Christians and bombing shrines, very old shrines, biblical shrines in Iraq, Islamic shrines in northern Iraq,” he said.

He went on to say that the other reason why the US offered to support the Kurds is that they have a strong lobby in Washington.

“The Kurdish regional government does have a substantial lobby in Washington certainly not as powerful as Israelis but it is influential to some extent and the Kurdish lobby is probably putting a lot of pressure on the Obama administration right now to do something because the [Kurdish] Peshmerga forces have lost a few towns in northern Iraq to ISIL forces, and now the loss of a dam and maybe another one is ready to fall,” he stated.

According the Kurdish newspaper, the US also offered other types of support to Kurds, including arms and military expertise.
