Transhumanism: Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid
The mere thought of merging with a machine is just frightening to me since it seems every machine has problems. The computers I've used over the years constantly have upgrade issues, incessant bugs, spyware encoded, and are generally riddled with issues. To think that there would be some way to really live with your entire brain's content downloaded to a machine that that would be also (inevitably) bug-riddled, full of malware, spied on, and ultimately downloadable, pirate-able, and worst of all, It's you that will suffer the consequences of being a first-generation guinea-pig, not the scientists and researchers.
