Economic Collapse 2014 -- Hungry Americans line up outside soup kitchens and food pantries

In New York City, long lines outside soup kitchens and food pantries have been around for so long that they have become part of the urban landscape.

Those lines, shameful enough for one of the world's richest cities, far from getting shorter, keep growing at a frightening pace.

New research from the Food Bank for New York City reveals that a majority of food pantries and soup kitchens experienced a tremendous increase in the number of people seeking assistance following the $5-billion national cut to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, also known as food stamps) that took effect on November 1, 2013.

Meanwhile, Food banks around the country, on which desperate families rely, say that they're struggling to meet unprecedented demands.

Experts believe that the main reasons for the increased hunger in US cities are unemployment, low salaries, poverty, and a high cost of housing.

  1. normandy:::::: don't forget president putin you are now on animal farm: how would you relate to those animals will be how the outcome of this moment shall be. europe is somehow ashame of the behaviour of the nations state that have regress, as from, 1776 to today, evolution indeed has taken place unfortunately exclusively on military and communication technology, the mind has not evolve much; as i said it has regress. reason why one adversary that represents men, and a bunch which are the animals of the farm. this configuration should open the minds of some; however is not certain that it will. but we hope it does. history often painted kings as ruthless and adversaries as noble, in fact it is the contrary of the truth, the reason is to keep the configuration alive from propaganda distortions! however not all figure heads are kings, neither not all nobles are valiant outsiders of the 1800.
