Future of Robotic Warfare -- MIT developing DRONES THAT LAND ON POWER LINES to RECHARGE

Birds may have some unusual company on power lines in the near future. MIT PhD candidate Joseph Moore is developing a drone that can perch on power lines to recharge. Using a magnetometer, the drone will be able to seek out high-power sources such as power lines and automatically perch, eliminating the need for the drone to return to a charging station. Although still not fully completed, the drone is reportedly close to meeting its creator's goals. RT's Lindsay France takes a look at the newest innovation in drone technology.
