Why Whistleblowers are important in a Democracy




Whistleblowers "terrific defence" of democracy - Protecting those who tell the truth Professor Gavin MacFadyen, of the Centre for Investigative Journalism, and Eileen Chubb, founder of Compassion in Care, talk to Going Underground host Afshin Rattansi about helping whistleblowers. They explain why the founded The Whistler to protect the integrity and independence of whistleblowers, and to provide practical help and assistance to them. They say whistleblowers are important in a democratic society, but changes in the law are needed to provide adequate protection and confidence to those who wish to expose the truth.
