French trade unionists have released two managers who had been held
hostage by disgruntled workers at the country's Goodyear tire factory in
Amiens. The factory is facing a shutdown after workers rejected a
restructuring deal. Some 1200 jobs will be cut after years of dispute,
whereby unions refused new pay and conditions. The recent unrest at
Goodyear is a sign for some of the urgent need for France to change the
way it does business.Al Jazeera's Simon McGregor-Wood reports.
