What about safety from gov't tyranny? That was the whole point of the
constitution. The "patriotic" NSA's trampling of the constitution causes
some citizens to jump to the opposite extreme, claiming that there
never was a terrorist threat and that the Western
powers-that-should-not-be have a monopoly on evil.
Judge William H Pauley III ruled in favor of the NSA's invasive spying
on American's communications in the interest of counter-terrorism. This
is a complete polar opposite of Judge Richard Leon's ruling on 12/16
that called NSA's data collecting an "indiscriminate and arbitrary
invasion."
