Mayor of Toronto Rob Ford: Robert Bruce "Rob" Ford (born May 28, 1969) is a Canadian
politician and businessman. He is the sixty-fourth and current Mayor of Toronto,
Ontario, Canada. Ford was elected mayor in the 2010 mayoral election, and took office on
December first of that year.
Prior to being mayor, Ford was city councillor for a ward in the Toronto district of
Etobicoke. He was first elected to city council in the 2000 Toronto municipal election,
and was reelected to his council seat in 2003 and again in 2006. His brother Doug Ford,
Jr. is currently a Toronto city councillor. Ford's father Doug Ford, Sr. was also a
politician and served as MPP. The Ford family owns Deco Labels, a multi-national
labelling and printing firm based in Etobicoke.

after news reports surfaced that he was caught on video purportedly smoking from a crack
pipe.
Whether Ford had used the illegal drug was a key question in the video scandal
surrounding the mayor of Canada's largest city. But numerous other questions remain
unanswered, including:
Why does Ford appear in a photo alongside suspected gang members, outside a building
that police believe is a crack house?
On May 16, U.S. gossip website Gawker.com and the Toronto Star published stories about a
video allegedly showing the mayor smoking from a crack pipe. Both media outlets said the
video was being shopped around by an unnamed source.
