NSA Head Caught In Open Mic Moment: 'Tell Your Boss I Owe Him Another Friggin' Beer'
Yesterday's NSA hearing in Congress was a bit of a national security lovefest, just based on the hearing's title alone: "How Disclosed NSA Programs Protect Americans, and Why Disclosure Aids Our Adversaries." Hardly a forum for fair discussion. So the hearing was a bit of a cakewalk for NSA head General Keith Alexander and FBI deputy director Sean Joyce. Following their testimony, Alexander was caught in an open mic moment telling Joyce, "Tell your boss I owe him another friggin' beer."
The exchange was flagged by Ben Doernberg and picked up by The Atlantic Wire. And for people concerned about the broad surveillance of NSA snooping, the image of the heads of the NSA and FBI sitting by the fire, enjoying a cold one and grumbling about the program going public, won't exactly put anyone at ease.
Here's the full transcript of the open mic moment, from The Atlantic Wire:
Alexander: Thank you, Sean.
Joyce: Good to see you.
Alexander: Tell your boss ... tell your boss I owe him another friggin' beer.
Joyce: Him?
Alexander: Yeah.
Joyce: Tell him to give it to me.
Alexander: (laughs) You want him to give it to you?
Joyce: Alright?
the thing is "beer" probably means cocaine and hookers. they can have it, why can't we?
ReplyDeleteIsn't it ironic they were being monitored by a microphone without their knowledge. Wonder how they like it?
