The IGC, however, believes threats against the games may arise elsewhere in the region from Muslims more difficult to distinguish among non-Muslim natives. "Radicals can come from any region of Russia," Sokiryanskaya said.
Although Russian officials have introduced what is described as unprecedented security following a terrorist attack in the southern city of Volgograd in December, The Boston Globe reported on Tuesday security is lax in Sochi. Despite questions about Russian security, Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee, said at a briefing that "we have confidence with the Russian authorities."

Terror threat: The Pegasus Airlines flight was forced to land in Istanbul
A flight from Ukraine was forced to make an emergency landing in Turkey this evening after a hijacking attempt, officials have confirmed.
The Boeing 737-800 carrying 110 passengers had departed from Kharkiv airport when a passenger reportedly yelled "Bomb!", according to CNN Turkey.
The man, a 45-year-old Ukrainian national, is then believed to have attempted to hijack the aircraft and divert it to Sochi, where the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics was underway at the time.
The crew on board the Pegasus Airlines flight reportedly sent an emergency signal to Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul warning officials the hijack attempt, before an F-16 Turkish military fighter jet was scrambled and forced the aircraft to land in Istanbul at 6.02pm local time.
After landing, the plane was towed away to a safe distance.
An official from the Turkish Transport Ministry said security forces then seized the highjacker, who had a small bag with electronic goods but no bomb.
A photograph displayed on Turkish TV channel NTV showed a man wearing a red, white and blue sports top, believed to be the suspect, standing up from his seat near the front of the plane as a steward looked on, while video footage also showed passengers sitting calmly on the aircraft before he was detained.
Istanbul Governor Huseyin Avni Mutlu said a a crisis centre was set up at the airport to handle the incident, and ambulances and fire engines were sent to the scene but there were no casualties.

The passenger is believed to have drunk alcohol and tried, unsuccessfully, to gain access to the cockpit, but the governor did not confirm these reports.
Ukraine's ministry of foreign affairs told Russian language wire service Interfax: "A scheduled flight from Kharkiv to Istanbul today completed an emergency landing at Istanbul airport due to an incident which took place on board.
"According to early information from the Turkish authorities a Ukrainian citizen was attempting to force the crew to direct the plane to Sochi."

Ive seen some of these videos posted, and Im going to offer a scientific explanation. The ice cube has no voids. The ice cube is solid ice, so when you melt it, the water has to run off of it. It has nowhere to go but out/off. The snow has voids. Its is not solid. So when you melt it, the water is soaked up by those voids. This is how you are able make a snowball. Even when you compact it into a snowball, it still has voids. Snow is fluffy. You get about 10x the amount of snow as you would rain out of the exact same amount of moisture. So when you have a fist sized ball of snow, its actually far less water. Its about the size of a marble in reality. Im not saying that there arent chemtrails and all that stuff - just that that there may very well be an actual scientific explanation for this phenomenon. If you REALLY want to do this test in a scientific manner, you need to let the snow melt in a clean glass, then re-freeze it into an ice cube after its completely melted. This is called 'control' in a controlled experiment. It reduced variables and allows for accurate results as both specimens are in the same state.Also, the black is soot from the gas thats burning out of the lighter. It will also turn just about anything black when held on it - but that doesnt mean its burning. Its just soot from the gas. It is also very likely that it is immediately going to its gaseous state, which is vapor, because of the extreme heat being out to it. Just like if you threw a cup of water onto am extremely hot furnace; it would immediately vaporize. It works this was in reverse as well - have you seen the videos where people throw boiling water up in -40 degree temps? Its immediately freezes into crystals.

We understand that Doomsday predictions are aplenty these days, but given what's going on around the world right now it may be time to revisit the eerily prescient forecast of an elite insider.
Grady Means is a former advisor to Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, a former economist at the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, and has managed multi-billion dollar firms over his career. Back in October of 2012 Means penned a commentary and analysis for the Washington Times in which he noted that "America's fall will take global economies with it."
But he didn't stop there. Means gave us a target date. There is a very large probability that the real end of the world will occur around March 4, 2014. The doomsday clock will ring then because the U.S. economy may fully crash around that date, which will, in turn, bring down all world economies and all hope of any recovery for the foreseeable future — certainly over the course of most of our lifetimes. Interest rates will skyrocket, businesses will fail, unemployment will go to record levels, material and food shortages will be rampant, and there could be major social unrest. Any wishful thinking that America is in a "recovery" and that "things are getting better" is an illusion. The central issue is confidence in America, and the world is losing confidence quickly. At a certain point, soon, the United States will reach a level of deficit spending and debt at which the countries of the world will lose faith in America and begin to withdraw their investments. Many leading economists and bankers think another trillion dollars or so may do it. A run on the bank will start suddenly, build quickly and snowball. At that point, we will need to finance our own deficit, and we will not be able to do so. We will raise bond rates to re-attract foreign investment, interest rates will go up, and businesses will fail. Unemployment will skyrocket.
The rest of the world will fully crash along with us.
But that's not all. Even the largest retailer in the world is having problems and seeing negative growth. Walmart announced that last November's cuts to food stamp recipients hurt their fourth quarter sales, adding further credence to the notion that without direct government bailouts the stability of America's companies comes into question.
Those investing in financial markets have certainly taken note. On top of the 326 point decline in the Dow Jones today, the market is down a combined 1,000 points from its peak just a month ago. And, with three well known bankers committing suicide in the last week, people are starting to pay attention.
We could well be facing the beginnings of an all-out financial Armageddon that will make 2008 look like a brief warm up.
This collapse, as noted by the US Treasury Department and Grady Means, is going to have generational effects -- a depressive economic environment for our entire lifetimes.
Preparing for such a scenario is not easy. Grady Means is a former advisor to Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, a former economist at the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, and has managed multi-billion dollar firms over his career. Back in October of 2012 Means penned a commentary and analysis for the Washington Times in which he noted that "America's fall will take global economies with it."
But he didn't stop there. Means gave us a target date. There is a very large probability that the real end of the world will occur around March 4, 2014. The doomsday clock will ring then because the U.S. economy may fully crash around that date, which will, in turn, bring down all world economies and all hope of any recovery for the foreseeable future — certainly over the course of most of our lifetimes. Interest rates will skyrocket, businesses will fail, unemployment will go to record levels, material and food shortages will be rampant, and there could be major social unrest. Any wishful thinking that America is in a "recovery" and that "things are getting better" is an illusion. The central issue is confidence in America, and the world is losing confidence quickly. At a certain point, soon, the United States will reach a level of deficit spending and debt at which the countries of the world will lose faith in America and begin to withdraw their investments. Many leading economists and bankers think another trillion dollars or so may do it. A run on the bank will start suddenly, build quickly and snowball. At that point, we will need to finance our own deficit, and we will not be able to do so. We will raise bond rates to re-attract foreign investment, interest rates will go up, and businesses will fail. Unemployment will skyrocket.
The rest of the world will fully crash along with us.
But that's not all. Even the largest retailer in the world is having problems and seeing negative growth. Walmart announced that last November's cuts to food stamp recipients hurt their fourth quarter sales, adding further credence to the notion that without direct government bailouts the stability of America's companies comes into question.
Those investing in financial markets have certainly taken note. On top of the 326 point decline in the Dow Jones today, the market is down a combined 1,000 points from its peak just a month ago. And, with three well known bankers committing suicide in the last week, people are starting to pay attention.
We could well be facing the beginnings of an all-out financial Armageddon that will make 2008 look like a brief warm up.
This collapse, as noted by the US Treasury Department and Grady Means, is going to have generational effects -- a depressive economic environment for our entire lifetimes.

Whether it's the War on Drugs, the War on Crime, or the War on Terror, by now experience should teach us that our government can neither wage, nor win "wars" against abstract nouns. Elizabeth Warren telling it exactly how it is. What those Senators are saying is a slap in the face to hard working Americans. I am sure that there are some that take advantage of the system, but that should not be blamed on everyone. Its like a Company that refuses to supply toilet paper in the Public restroom because someone keeps stealing it. The many suffer because of one persons greed.

2.7 trillion went missing during 9/11 and no one hiccuped - when the banks got bailed out people heard the 3 trillion number and freaked out and accepted it but did anyone complain even after Neil Barofsky, the lead overseer of the Treasury's bailout program told the US Treasury “the bailout program was fraught with “conflicts of interest,” “collusion vulnerabilities” and “deliberate obfuscation of what banks are doing with the money they received” - he also note there was 35 major fraud investigations relation to the bailout... plus the real kick in the pants he said the true costs of the bank bailouts was 23.7 trillion which of course they all denied... We will never know the true costs and the press keeps on rolling and rolling and rolling....
A lot of money has been leaving the USA for almost two decades...This time around... it's catastrophic.
The cards have been dealt, the bets are in and the dealer is about to show you the first hand....

The Founding Fathers knew government was like a 600 lb gorilla, which needed a very strong cage to keep it locked down, and limit it's strength. It's power was only to be used toward an aggressive attack from outside our republic, and only to act upon the will of the people's house of Congress. How far have we come away from that founding principle? The Socialists and Communists which run both major parties have been over feeding that caged gorilla, while at the same time stripping away a few more bars of it's cage. They are unleashing a beast, which when it is fully free of that cage, will be much harder to lock down again. A restoration of the Constitution is more needed now than in the times of the American Revolution, because the old enemy three thousand miles away in England is now inside our borders in government. If the American Spring march on DC, is the peaceful start of reclaiming the republic

Economic Collapse 2014 -- China Is Now Challenging The Western Oil Conglomerates
Spain unemployment is skyrocketing. Radio Shack is closing 500 stores and many other retailers are following suit. China is now challenging the western oil conglomerates to be the leader in oil price fixing. Obamacare is going to crush the job market by 2.5 million workers. The country is not protected against cyber attacks according to a government report. The US intelligence agency is reporting that Assad is now stronger than ever and they do not see any type of outcome to the civil war in Syria. The FBI is conducting interviews among the Caucasus people in fear they might have terrorist ties.
Bank Run 2014 -- FDIC Insured Bank of Albuquerque Preps for Disaster
A 'Bank Run' is
a situation that occurs when a large number of bank or other financial institution's customers withdraw their deposits simultaneously due to concerns about the bank's solvency. As more people withdraw their funds, the probability of default increases, thereby prompting more people to withdraw their deposits. In extreme cases, the bank's reserves may not be sufficient to cover the withdrawals. A bank run is typically the result of panic, rather than a true insolvency on the part of the bank; however, the bank does risk default as more and more individuals withdraw funds - what began as panic can turn into a true default situation.
Also called a "run."
The FDIC Insured Bank of Albuquerque is prepping for disaster. Kind of an odd thing for a bank to do. You may want to contact your bank and ask if they have similar plans and then perhaps pull your money our before.

DISASTER PREPAREDNESS DRILL
February 15 and 16
Recent natural disasters such as the Moore tornado, flooding in Colorado, and Hurricane Sandy have demonstrated to all of us in the banking industry the need to be prepared for unforeseen events. Accordingly, we will be performing a disaster preparedness drill that may impact the availability of some banking systems, including mobile banking, online banking and more.
The drill will begin at 8 p.m. Central Standard Time on Saturday, February 15 and run throughout Sunday, February 16. Our ATM network will be fully operational all weekend for deposits, balance inquiries, and cash withdrawals. ExpressBank will also be available, but will have limited functionality and will likely experience higher than normal call volumes and extended wait times over the course of the weekend.
To minimize impact to you the weekend of the test, you might consider making any transfers, deposits, or online bill payments earlier in the week before the test begins.
Throughout the weekend we will be posting updates on Facebook and Twitter and encourage you to follow us there to stay informed and up-to- date.
