A Russian Proton-M rocket carrying three GLONASS navigation satellites crashed soon after takeoff from Kazakhstan's Baikonur cosmodrome. Immediately after takeoff, the rocket swerved to one side, tried to correct itself, but instead veered in the opposite direction. It then flew horizontally and started to come apart with its engines in full thrust. Making a huge arch in the air, the rocket plummeted back to earth and exploded on impact close to another launch pad used for Proton commercial launches. The crash was broadcast live across the country and fears of a possible toxic fuel leak immediately surfaced following the incident. While no such leak has been confirmed, the rocket was initially carrying over 600 tons of toxic propellants. There have reportedly been no casualties to surroundings structures and the town of Baikonur was not affected. Taking into account the Proton-M rocket and three GLONASS satellites, the failed launch has potentially cost the Russian space industry around $200 million, reported Rossiya24 TV channel. An accident board headed by Aleksandr Lopatin, deputy head of Russia's space agency Roskosmos, has been created to investigate the crash. The emergency ministry of Kazakhstan has warned that toxic fuel from the rocket could pose an ecological threat to the surrounding area. A cloud of toxic smoke emanating from the burning fuel has led to the evacuation of the area in the immediate vicinity to the crash site. Experts point to engine failure as the likely cause of the crash. "It's either the control system or the engine that has caused the accident. If the accident occurred in the first 10 to 20 seconds, than the engine is likely to be the cause," a source in the space agency told RIA. An Interfax-Kazakhstan source at the cosmodrome said the rocket was out of control from the moment it took off from the launch pad. "In line with its program, once a malfunction was detected, the rocket boosted to take itself away from the launch pad and fell about one kilometer from it," the source said, adding that initial telemetry data suggests that the problem occurred in one of the stability guidance jet engines. There will be no launches from Baikonur for about two-three months, a source in Russia's space industry told RIA Novosti news agency. "There will be no launches of Proton-M rockets while the investigation is underway. In two-three days we will know what exactly happened to the rocket. This is a well-known rocket, and the reason for the crash is the human factor and a production failure," the source said. "We've had similar accidents at Baikonur before. After the area is cleaned up, launches will resume -- in two-three months," the source continued. Missouri Woman Faces Jail For Recycling Tires into Flower Planters
July 2, 2013 Report: A Missouri woman says that she is prepared to go to jail after authorities in Sugar Creek threatened her over a recycling project that turns tires into flower planters. Toni "Bones" Shelton told KFVS that she had been repainting old tires to turn them into planters, but the city is frowning on her project. "I was just really interested in recycling and I'm really big on self-sufficiency," she explained. Sugar Creek, however, claimed the number of tires she was storing could attract mosquitos and lower property values.
"We'd asked her to put them somewhere else because there were quite a number of them," Sugar Creek Chief Herb Soule insisted."We try to keep people from accumulating tires because they retain water and they attract mosquitos. They detract from property values in the neighborhood too."
Shelton was issued a citation, but she said she was refusing to pay the fine based on principle.
"I don't want my kids to see me back down and not follow my heart," she said.
Shelton is now storing most of the unused tires inside of an old truck, and Soule said that her home was no longer in violation of any municipal codes.
Her case is expected to be heard in Sugar Creek municipal court next week.

July 2, 2013 - Rush Limbaugh said that Fox News ignored his requests to talk about immigration during his interview on Tuesday. Limbaugh spoke on "Fox and Friends," where he talked to the hosts about the situation in Egypt, the relationship between Palestine and Israel and the politics of health care reform. Later on his radio show, he said that the number one topic he wanted to discuss was immigration, but that the network did not seem to want to get into it.
"Now I told the people at Fox that I wanted to talk about this today three or four times and they wouldn't do it," he claimed. "They were not interested in bringing this subject up. I wanted to talk about this in relationship to the current state of the Republican party and they wouldn't do it."
"I had to bring it up myself to whatever extent I did, and that by the way, is quite telling to me," Limbaugh added.
Earlier on "Fox and Friends," he had warned that the Republican party was getting "skunked" on the issue of immigration reform, and that if it continued to do so, it could lose the House in 2014.
"You think that's a possibility?" Kilmeade asked.
Hopi Blue Star Prophecy & End Times
Ian spoke with Miriam Delicado about her contact with extraterrestrial beings, their message for the world, and how it ties into the Hopi's Blue Star Prophecy and the End Times.
Delicado described a childhood abduction experience in which she was given a small rectangular object and instructed by aliens to take care of it. Delicado also talked about the time she was approached by a mysterious man who tried to recruit her into a secret Russian psychic program, as well as her encounters with five men that looked and dressed alike, who appeared at various times in her life to inquire about alien technology.

Director at Edgar Cayce's A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment) since 1969, John Van Auken discussed the "Sleeping Prophet's" visions for the future, as well as his insights into such topics as the Mayans, Egypt, Atlantis, dreaming, and health remedies. The Mayans were comparable to the Atlanteans in terms of their being attuned to "celestial consciousness," but both groups eventually devolved into more war-like states, Cayce said. Edgar Cayce (/ˈkeɪsiː/; March 18, 1877 -- January 3, 1945) was an American psychic who allegedly possessed the ability to answer questions on subjects such as healing and wars, and even had visions of the world ending. He also gave a reading about Atlantis while in a hypnotic trance. Cayce founded a nonprofit organization, the Association for Research and Enlightenment. Though Cayce himself was a devout member of the Disciples of Christ and lived before the emergence of the New Age Movement, some believe he was actually the founder of the movement and influenced its teachings.
Cayce became a celebrity toward the end of his life and he believed the publicity given to his prophecies overshadowed the more important parts of his work, such as healing the sick and studying religion. Skeptics challenge Cayce's alleged psychic abilities and traditional Christians also question his unorthodox answers on religious matters such as reincarnation and Akashic records. Cayce has variously been referred to as a "prophet" (cf. Jess Stearn's book, The Sleeping Prophet), a "mystic" and a "seer". While giving a reading for a seeker he at times referred to consulting the Akashic Record (the etheric imprint) of that soul's experience.
Cayce's methods involved lying down and entering into a sleep state, usually at the request of a subject who was seeking help with health or other personal problems (subjects were not usually present). The subject's questions would then be given to Cayce, and Cayce would proceed with a reading. At first these readings dealt primarily with the physical health of the individual; later readings on past lives, business advice, dream interpretation, and mental or spiritual health were also given.
Until September 1923, his readings were not systematically preserved. However, an October 10, 1922, Birmingham Post-Herald article quotes Cayce as saying that he had given 8,056 readings as of that date and it is known that he gave approximately 13,000-14,000 readings after that date. Today, only about 14,000 are available at Cayce headquarters and online. Thus, it appears that about 7,000-8,000 Cayce readings are missing.
When out of the trance he entered, Cayce said he generally did not remember what he had said during the reading. The unconscious mind, according to Cayce, has access to information which the conscious mind does not — a common assumption about hypnosis in Cayce's time. After Gladys Davis became Cayce's secretary on September 10, 1923, all readings were preserved and his wife, Gertrude Evans Cayce, generally guided the readings.
Cayce said that his trance statements should be taken into account only to the extent that they led to a better life for the recipient. Moreover, he invited his audience to test his suggestions rather than accept them on faith.
Other abilities that have been attributed to Cayce include astral projection, prophesying, mediumship, viewing the Akashic Records or "Book of Life", and seeing auras.

Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., is reigniting her push for a federal law expanding background checks on gun purchases but with a strong emphasis on the idea that gun owners like herself should get behind stronger regulations.
To kick off her seven-day "Rights and Responsibilities Tour" on Monday, Giffords visited a shooting range in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"I am taking this week to pay tribute to the Second Amendment -- both the rights it bestows and the responsibilities it requires," Giffords wrote in a USA Today op-ed published late Monday. "In these divisive political times, gun safety and gun rights are too often pitted against each other. But Americans can meet in the middle. Now all we need is for our elected leaders to meet us there."
Giffords' seven-day tour stops in seven states, as the website for the campaign says, "to thank senators who voted in favor of the [background check] bill - and to show those who voted against it that there is broad public support in their states for them to change their votes."
The tour stops in Nevada, Alaska, New Hampshire and North Dakota, which are all represented by at least one senator who voted against the failed background check expansion in April. However, according to polling commissioned by Americans for Responsible Solutions, the gun safety group Giffords founded, there is strong public support for expanded background checks in each of those states.
Giffords is also stopping in Ohio, home to Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, who voted for the bill, and Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, who voted against it. She visits North Carolina, where Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C., voted for it and Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., voted against it. Finally, she visits Maine -- the state's Republican Sen. Susan Collins and independent Sen. Angus King both voted for it.
Since the Senate rejected the background check bill in April, gun control has gone nowhere in Congress, even though the families of gun violence victims have kept up public pressure on Washington.
Giffords acknowledged in her USA Today op-ed that she may seem like an "unlikely advocate" for gun rights since she herself sustained horrible injuries after the 2011 mass shooting in Tucson, Ariz.
"But I'm a patriot, and I believe the right to bear arms is a definitive part of our American heritage," she wrote. The former congresswoman wrote she supports background checks because, "As gun owners, my husband and I understand that the Second Amendment is most at risk when a criminal or deranged person commits a gun crime."

Bank of America protester acquitted of vandalism
Today a San Diego jury acquitted 40 year old Jeff Olson on 13 counts of vandalism and he was also facing a 13-thousand dollars fine. It took the jury less than five hours to arrive at their decison. It's the case of a San Diego, California artist who was prosecuted for vandalism, after writing anti-Bank messages on public side walks, using chalk. Olson's anti-bank messages included one that read: "No Thanks, Big Banks" and another that read: "Shame on Bank of America." Over the weekend, in a protest dubbed "Chalk-U-Pie" dozens of supporters drew their own colorful messages in chalk, including the phrase "This is NOT vandalism!". At the end of the ordeal, Olson said he was relieved it was all over.

Asian stocks have fallen after fears about a global economic slowdown were fanned by weak US data.
South Korea's Kospi dropped 6.2%, Japan's Nikkei 225 fell 2.5% and Australia's ASX shed 3.5%.
Investors are worried global growth is slowing more than first thought, and are concerned that major economies are heading back into recession.
The falls follow steep losses in the US and Europe on Thursday, and mark a week of stock market declines.
Concerns over growth and debt have been building over recent weeks and financial markets have been seeing extreme volatility.
Many analysts are questioning if a bear market - one in which the long term trend is negative - has now developed and is here to stay.
"Bear markets tend to happen when sentiments are low and that comes from weakened demand and bad news flow," Chou Chong of Aberdeen Asset Management told the BBC.
"The Western regions are having to face a period of lower growth and dampened demand. That is putting pressure on market sentiment." he added.
A number of industry heavyweights such as computer firm Dell have cut their earnings outlooks in recent days. At the same time, investment banks including Morgan Stanley have been revisiting their growth forecasts for this year.
On Thursday, Morgan Stanley said that the US and Europe were "dangerously close to recession", despite efforts by policymakers to boost growth and calm markets.
"Investors fear that policymakers no longer have the tools to avoid a recession," Frederic Neumann at HSBC in Hong Kong told the BBC's Asia Business Report.
What sparked the sell-off in stocks was Thursday's release of data on the US economy.
Manufacturing activity in the US's mid-Atlantic region slumped to its lowest level since March 2009, according to data from the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank, which is seen as an early indicator of the state of manufacturing nationally.
At the same time, sales in the US housing market fell unexpectedly and unemployment claims rose sharply.
The numbers weighed on sentiment in both the US and Europe.
"The issue now is there is building evidence that the economies themselves are weakening," Mr Neuman said.
"We are shifting from a policy risk concern to a realisation that the economies are not as strong as we believed and that is something that the investors have only begun to wake up to right now."
Mr Chong of Aberdeen Asset Management warned that given the uncertainty surrounding the health of the developed economies, markets were likely to remain volatile.
"Until we do see the US and Europe find a long-term sustainable solution to their growth and debt problems, markets will react to any near-term noises," he said.
The Dow Jones index closed down 3.7% while European indexes lost between 4% and 6%.

The greatest threat we face is from socioeconomic collapse, which could be triggered by mass inflation, leading to the dollar becoming worthless, he said. While the US has had local and regional disasters, we've never had a national event, such as an EMP attack or huge solar storm that would take down the entire grid. People need to be prepared and learn self-sufficiency in the event of such an outcome, he advised, adding that if there's severe damage to the power grid it could take years to restore service.
One of the most important things for preparation is a water filtration system-- "If you don't have water within 24 hours, you're going to be a refugee," he said. People in northern climates also have to consider heating issues, such as having a working fireplace and expedition-quality sleeping bags. He recommended that people have up to a three-year supply of food-- one year for themselves, and the rest to give to charity. Interestingly, he also suggested stockpiling nickels. In contrast to other current coins, the 5 cent pieces are made from copper and nickel, and may at some point in the future have some utility for barter, he said.

Rand Paul (R-KY) may have voted against the Senate's "Gang of Eight" immigration reform bill last week, but he seemingly does not count himself among the conservative critics of the bill who oppose any and all forms of "amnesty" for illegal immigrants currently living inside the United States. In an interview with WNDtv, Sen. Paul took on the critics of so-called "amnesty" who oppose efforts to "normalize" illegal immigrants and absorb them into the United States. "Let's get them work visas, let's normalize them, let's make them taxpayers," he said of the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently residing within the states.
"They're not going home," Paul said, adding that even the most vocal opponents of so-called "amnesty" seem to recognize this fact. "Are they for sending these people home? Do they want us to put them in concentration camps, on buses, and send them back home? I don't think anyone's proposing that."
Paul also addressed the common anti-immigration belief that undocumented workers "steal" low-paying jobs from America's labor pool. "I haven't met any farmers who say Americans will pick crops," he said.

ALAN GRAYSON on The NSA and Prism Programs
Alan Mark Grayson is the United States Representative for Florida's 9th congressional district and a member of the Democratic Party. He previously served as Representative for Florida's 8th congressional district from 2009 to 2011.
Grayson made it a priority to increase the amount of federal money returning to his district. He often said that people in his district had been "exporting taxes and importing debt." During his first year in office, the amount of federal grant dollars returning to the district nearly doubled with a 98% increase.Grayson established a grant notification system that notifies subscribers immediately when a federal grant opportunity in their areas of interest becomes available. He also hired a full-time grants coordinator who focused solely on helping people navigate the federal grants process.
Grayson supported the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and has been outspoken in favor of extending unemployment benefits for Americans who have lost their jobs. Grayson argues that the government has never cut off unemployment insurance when the unemployment rate was higher than eight percent. Grayson also voted for FDA Oversight of Tobacco Products, which gives the FDA power to regulate tobacco products.
Grayson has worked to combat federal waste, fraud, and abuse. In the September 6, 2009 edition of The New York Times, columnist Gretchen Morgenson thanked Grayson for uncovering the fact that, due to the federal bailout of mortgage finance giant Fannie Mae, taxpayer money had been funding the legal defense fees for former top executives at the institution. Grayson requested information about these legal costs after a June 2009 hearing of the House Financial Services Committee. Grayson's work uncovered that, between September 6, 2008 and July 21, 2009,taxpayers spent $6.3 million defending Fannie Mae executives Franklin Raines, J. Timothy Howard, and Leanne Spencer. Taxpayers paid an additional $16.8 million to cover legal expenses of workers at the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, Fannie's former regulator.
In September 2009, Grayson used a parliamentary maneuver called an “extension of remarks” to provide crucial instruction on H.R. 3221, the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2009, a bill that, among other things, included a provision that prohibited funding for ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). Grayson's extension of remarks directed that the legislation defund any organization that cheats the federal government, not just ACORN. The defunding measure passed the House with a final vote of 253–171. Grayson also encouraged the public to report companies covered by the bill and set up a method to report offending companies via his Congressional website

Edward Snowden reportedly is seeking asylum in Russia, as the NSA leaker faces diminishing options for getting out of the Moscow airport where he is believed to be staying.
The Interfax news agency cited Kim Shevchenko, the duty officer at the Russian Foreign Ministry's consular office in Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport, as saying that Snowden's representative, Sarah Harrison, handed over his request for political asylum on Sunday.
The confirmation, though, comes after Russia's President Vladimir Putin publicly issued a condition for any asylum request from Snowden -- he must stop leaking America's secrets.

George Bush Blasts Snowden, Defends NSA Programs He Put In Place: 'Civil Liberties Were Guaranteed'
July 1, 2013 - CNN's Robyn Curnow caught up with former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush in Zambia for an interview that mostly centered on the work they are doing there at a clinic for cervical cancer. But the reporter "couldn't help" but ask Bush about his reaction to the NSA leaks from Edward Snowden. Her first question: "Do you think he's a traitor?"
Without directly labeling Snowden a "traitor," Bush answered, "I know he damaged the the country," adding "the Obama administration will deal with it." The former president also defended the NSA surveillance programs he put in place following the attacks of September 11th, 2001. "I put the program in place to protect the country and one of the certainties is civil liberties were guaranteed," Bush said.
Asked whether there is any "compromise" between security and privacy, Bush said, "I think there needs to be a balance, and I think as the president explained, there's a proper balance." Curnow noted Bush's reluctance to criticize President Obama, something that his former vice president has not shied away from. "It doesn't do any good" to critique Obama, Bush said. "It's a hard job. He's got plenty on his agenda. And it's difficult. And a former president doesn't need to make it harder."
Bush also said he "could care less" about polls showing more people have a favorable view of him since he left office, saying the "only time" he "really cared" about polls was on Election Day. "Ultimately history will judge the decisions that I made and I won't be around because it will take a while for the objective historians to show up. And so I'm pretty comfort with it. I did what I did. I know the spirit in which I did it."
