Trayvon Martin supporters staged a second night of protest against the George Zimmerman verdict in Oakland and Los Angeles -- blocking freeways, hurling rocks at police, smashing windows, attacking reporters and burning American flags as cops responded with "less than lethal" rounds.




Most of the rallies in major cities across the country were boisterous but largely peaceful. However, trouble flared for a second night running in Oakland where "crowds turned violent," according to ABC 7.




Bay Area News Group reporter Natalie Neysa Alund and her cameraman were attacked as protesters "had complete control of 14th and Broadway near Oakland City Hall, preventing any cars from getting through."




When the road was opened, demonstrators descended on frightened drivers who were forced to turn around and leave the area as police departed.




"Oakland police officers that had been near the corner retreated, leaving the helpless drivers without police protection. It's unclear who gave that command," states the report.




Protesters later burned an American flag after attempting to gain access to a BART station and a photographer later complained that he had also been attacked.




WIth rioters having already "left destruction in their wake" on Saturday night by smashing windows and attacking businesses in Oakland, theWashington Post reports that protesters also "began breaking windows and spray painting graffiti" last night.




South Los Angeles witnessed similar scenes, with demonstrators throwing rocks and D-cell batteries at police near the corner of Washington Boulevard and 10th Avenue. Cops responded by firing beanbag rounds.




After protesters began swarming the 10 Freeway in the Mid-City area and blocking traffic, the LAPD called a citywide tactical alert. Images show protesters blocking vehicles.




In Hollywood, riot police confronted protesters who gathered at Sunset Boulevard for an "unlawful assembly" and several arrests were made.




Meanwhile in Atlanta, a commercial building was spray-painted with the words "riot 4 Trayvon," before being covered up by a church owner.




Nationwide protests hit the US following the acquittal of George Zimmerman, with protesters burning flags, smashing police cars and shop windows. Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin, 17, out of apparent self-defense.

The Los Angeles Police Department has halted a citywide tactical alert put in place following Saturday's verdict. The Los Angeles Times reported that upwards of 100 LAPD officers in riot gear were deployed the evening before in order to deal with an unruly crowd of around 80 protesters. The event ended in six arrests, the Times reported.

Writer and physicist Russell Targ discussed his involvement in creating the Remote Viewing program at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) during the Cold War, as well as various remote viewing applications and experiments. After two decades of research at SRI, they demonstrated that ordinary people visiting their laboratory could learn to accurately describe and experience what was going on at distant places, and that in fact, with practice most people can learn to "remote view."

Israel used a Turkish military base to launch one of its recent airstrikes against Syria from the sea, a reliable source told RT. Israel has been under scrutiny since last week, when it was reported to be responsible for a July 5 depot attack in Latakia.News that Turkey assisted Israel in attacking another Muslim state could result in serious turmoil for Ankara, once the information is confirmed. "Our source is telling us that Israeli planes left a military base inside Turkey and approached Latakia from the sea to make sure that they stayed out of Syrian airspace so that they cannot become a legitimate target for the Syrian air force," RT's Paula Slier reports. In response, Turkey has denied that Israel has used its base to strike Syria. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told the media that existing reports of the incident are"absolutely wrong" and those who spread such rumors are in "act of betrayal." "Turkey will neither be a part nor a partner of such 'attacks.' The ones who claim this want to damage Turkey's power and reputation," he added. Israel has declined RT's request for comment and refused to confirm or deny the information.The Israeli PM's office told RT that they "will not be taking part in your broadcast," while an IDF spokesperson renewed the stance that the military is "not commenting on this issue."Relations between Turkey and Israel were strained until March 2013, as a result of a flotilla incident which happened more than three years ago. In protest against Israel's refusal to apologize, Turkey expelled the Israeli ambassador and severed military ties.The two agreed to normalize their relationship after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu apologized to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.Ankara has been known for its assistance to foreign-backed militants, allowing them to train on Turkish territory before infiltrating into Syria. Shortly after the July 5 airstrike, the Free Syrian Army said that rebels were not responsible for the attack, which destroyed Yakhont anti-ship missiles being stored there."It was not the FSA that targeted this," Qassem Saadeddine, FSA's Supreme Military Council spokesman told Reuters. "It is not an attack that was carried out by rebels."

Thousands took to streets across the US on Sunday, as protests against the acquittal of George Zimmerman entered their second day. Zimmerman, a former neighborhood watch volunteer, shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in 2012.
The Justice Department said Sunday that it will restart its investigation into last year's killing to consider possible separate hate crime charges against George Zimmerman. The news follows huge public outcry and calls from civil rights leaders to reopen the inquiry. 

"Experienced federal prosecutors will determine whether the evidence reveals a prosecutable violation of any of the limited federal criminal civil rights statutes within our jurisdiction...and whether federal prosecution is appropriate in accordance with the department's policy governing successive federal prosecution following a state trial," a Justice Department spokesman said in a Sunday statement.
Massive "Justice for Trayvon" marches took place in New York City, Boston, San, Francisco, Los Angeles and other cities across America on Sunday. At least five people were arrested in New York, RT's Marina Portnaya reported. 

US President Barack Obama has called for peaceful reaction, urging Americans to respect the verdict of the jury, which cleared George Zimmerman of the murder of Trayvon Martin. 

"I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken," the president said in a statement. 

In New York City, a few thousand people marched from Union Square to Times Square. Demonstrators blocked traffic while chanting slogans. Police tried and failed to funnel the crowd into controlled lanes.
Some 500 protesters of different ethnic backgrounds took to the streets of Boston, with police describing the rally as "very orderly." 

"Morally it cannot be right, that a child cannot go about his business and go to the store," 57-year-old Maura Twomey told Reuters. "Racism is not just an issue for the black community. It's for all of us." 

Hundreds protested in San Francisco and Los Angeles, with RT's Ramon Galindo reporting that demonstrators shut down the I-10 interstate highway.
On Saturday, large spontaneous demonstrations broke out after the jury announced the not-guilty verdict. 

Demonstrators in Oakland, California smashed windows in protest. There were also reports that small fires burned throughout the city, and that a police vehicle was damaged. 

Twenty-nine-year-old Zimmerman was acquitted on Saturday of all charges relating to the fatal shooting of Martin. The former neighborhood watch volunteer could have been sentenced to life in prison for second-degree murder or up to 30 years for manslaughter if he was found guilty. 

Martin, 17, was shot over a year ago by Zimmerman, who claimed he acted in self-defense. The prosecution argued that Zimmerman was guilty of second-degree murder, stating that he racially profiled the unarmed teen and assumed he was a criminal when he saw him walking through a gated community in Sanford. They claimed that Zimmerman tracked the boy down and started the fight that led to the shooting.

Trump called in to Fox And Friends Monday morning, telling the trio of hosts that he thought Zimmerman was "no angel" and that he should high-tail it out of Florida, but that he also agreed with the verdict and questioned whether the case ever should have been brought given Florida's tough self-defense statutes. "Zimmerman is no angel," Trump said. "I didn't like the fact that Zimmerman was told to stay in his truck, don't move, and he went out and he certainly moved. But he's no angel, we know that, this is not a guy who doesn't deserve certain blame." Gretchen Carlson said it sounded as if Trump doubted the jury's acquittal. "I don't disagree with the verdict," Trump said. "I just don't think that Zimmerman is necessarily somebody who is going to heaven very quickly." "The trial perhaps should not have been brought," Trump said. "A lot of people thought at the beginning of the trial it was so strong that the case never should have been brought. The law is so strong that the jury had to really make that decision." "The law is the law," Trump averred. "The jury has ruled. The six jurors were under tremendous pressure. I will tell you, the six jurors were under tremendous pressure. I thought they may do something different just because of that pressure...I actually thought there's a possibility they may convict on manslaughter, they convict on the lesser ground, just on the basis of the potential dangers to their lives." Carlson asked what advice Trump had for Zimmerman as the "master of getting noticed," as O.J. Simpson lawyer Alan Dershowitz was recommending that Zimmerman make himself scarce. "It's good for everybody if he disappears," Trump said. "This has been really a traumatic verdict for the country. And actually hasn't been as bad as a lot of people thought it would be. Now, we're just beginning, let's see what happens. But he should disappear, for his own sake, and for the country's sake."

It's not unusual for the annual Protestant Orange Order marches in Belfast to turn violent.

The parades are a regular flashpoint for sectarian clashes.

A high profile peace deal in 1998 largely ended three decades of strife in Northern Ireland.

But Belfast is still riven with religious and nationalist tension between Protestants loyal to the British government and Catholics, many of whom favor reunification with Ireland.

The Protestant Orange Order was angered this year when authorities ruled they couldn't march a stretch of road dividing the two communities - an act seen as provocative by many in the Catholic community.

Police drafted 400 reinforcements from other parts of Britain as they battled Protestants demonstrators into the night.

More than 20 people have been arrested.

Al Sharpton Demands Federal Investigation Of Zimmerman: Martin Family Always Had A 'Plan B'

Al Sharpton told Meet the Press host David Gregory Sunday morning about his plans to pursue civil rights charges against George Zimmerman, following the latter's verdict acquittal Saturday night for the murder of Trayvon Martin.

"Clearly there are grounds for a civil rights charges," Sharpton told Gregory.

Sharpton, a key figure in metastasizing the shooting into a national issue in March of 2012, said he and Martin's family had planned from the beginning to ask for a federal investigation if Zimmerman was let go.

"The mother and father of Trayvon Martin and I with their lawyers met with the U.S. attorneys in Florida, the day I went down to organize the first rally there," Sharpton said. "We always said there needed to be a Plan B, but there needed to be a Plan A."

"I watched the whole trial, and no one can say what Trayvon Martin did wrong," Sharpton argued. "'They always get away with it,' the gentleman said. Who is they getting away with what? That's the basis of a civil rights trial."

"Was this not a fair trial?" Gregory asked.

"The trial happened," Sharpton said. "The verdict came in. That does not exhaust the legal options of this family, and the bigger community issue of civil rights. We now have a position on the books in the state of Florida where an unarmed teenager who committed no crime can be killed and the killer can say self-defense. That is dangerous...I think every American ought to be afraid that my child can do nothing wrong and can be killed and you can use self-defense and tell four or five different stories that end up being inconsistent and still walk away."

Gregory continued to press Sharpton over whether he believed Zimmerman got a fair hearing. "You disagree with the verdict, but you don't question that it was a fair trial," he said. "If you wanted him to have a day in court, that happened. That part of the process worked."

"There could have been some things done differently at trial," Sharpton admitted. "But the real object now is to move forward on dealing with the state law and civil rights."

Sharpton referenced a march he and Martin Luther King Jr.'s grandson would be having in honor of the anniversary of Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech. "How do we have this country deal with Dr. King's dream fifty years later, and you can't walk an innocent child through a neighborhood without the child being harmed, let alone killed?" Sharpton asked.

Despite the potential futility of such an effort, Stein stressed that it's "a good fight that's worth doing" for the betterment of future generations.

Survivalism is a movement of individuals or groups (called survivalists or preppers) who are actively preparing for emergencies as well as possible disruptions in social or political order, on scales ranging from local to international. Survivalists often have emergency medical and self-defence training, stockpile food and water, prepare for self-sufficiency, and build structures that will help them survive or "disappear" (e.g. a survival retreat or underground shelter).

Mainstream emergency preparations

People who are not part of survivalist groups or apolitically oriented religious groups also make preparations for emergencies. This can include (depending on the location) preparing for earthquakes, floods, power outages, blizzards, avalanches, wildfires, terrorist attacks, nuclear power plant accidents, hazardous material spills, tornadoes, and hurricanes. These preparations can be as simple as following Red Cross and U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recommendations by keeping a first aid kit, shovel, and extra clothes in the car, or by maintaining a small kit of emergency supplies, containing emergency food, water, a space blanket, and other essentials.

Mainstream economist and financial adviser Barton Biggs is a proponent of preparedness. In his 2008 book Wealth, War and Wisdom, Biggs has a gloomy outlook for the economic future, and suggests that investors take survivalist measures.

Ten-year old cystic fibrosis patient Sarah Murnaghan captured the nation's attention when federal bureaucrats imposed a de facto death sentence on her by refusing to modify the rules governing organ transplants. The rules in question forbid children under 12 from receiving transplants of adult organs. Even though Sarah's own physician said she was an excellent candidate to receive an adult organ transplant, government officials refused to even consider modifying their rules.

Fortunately, a federal judge intervened so Sarah received the lung transplant. But the welcome decision in this case does not change the need to end government control of organ donations and repeal the federal ban on compensating organ donors.

Supporters of the current system claim that organ donation is too important to be left to the marketplace. But this is nonsensical: if we trust the market to deliver food, shelter, and all other necessities, why should we not trust it to deliver healthcare—including organs?

It is also argued that it is "uncompassionate" or "immoral" to allow patients or insurance companies to provide compensation to donors. But one of the reasons the waiting lists for transplants is so long, with many Americans dying before receiving a transplant, is because of a shortage of organs. If organ donors, or their heirs, where compensated for donating, more people would have an incentive to become organ donors.

Those who oppose allowing patients to purchase organs should ask themselves how compassionate is it to allow those people to die on the transplant waiting list who might otherwise have lived if they were able to obtain organs though private contracts.

Some are concerned that if organ donations were supplied via the market instead of through government regulation, those with lower incomes would be effectively denied access to donated organs. This ignores our current two-tier system for allocating organs, as the wealthy can travel overseas for transplants if they cannot receive a transplant in America. Allowing the free market to alleviate the shortage of organs and reduce the costs of medial procedures like transplants would benefit the middle class and the poor, not the wealthy.

The costs of obtaining organs would likely be covered by most health insurance plans, thus reducing the costs directly borne by individual patients. Furthermore, if current federal laws distorting the health care market are repealed, procedures such as transplants would be much more affordable. Expanded access to health savings accounts and flexible savings accounts, combined with generous individual tax deductions and credits, would also make it easier for people to afford health care procedures such as transplants.

There is also some hypocrisy in the argument against allowing market forces in organ transplants. Everyone else involved in organ transplantation procedures, including doctors, nurses, and even the hospital janitor, receives compensation. Not even the most extreme proponent of government-provided health care advocates forcing medical professionals to provide care without compensation. Hospitals and other private intuitions provide compensation for blood and plasma donations, and men and women are compensated for donations to fertility clinics, so why not allow compensation for organ donation?

Sarah Murnaghan's case shows the fallacy in thinking that a free-market system for organ donations is less moral or less effective than a government-controlled system. It is only the bureaucrats who put adherence to arbitrary rules ahead of the life of a ten-year old child. It is time for Congress to wake up and see that markets work better in all aspects of health care, including organ donation, just as they work better in providing all other goods and services.

Starting with the Roswell Incident, "the year 1947 was the beginning of a conditioning of belief systems...carefully orchestrated for future events," he commented.

He believes the Roswell crash was staged "by an unknown intelligence" in collusion with an elite part of the US government. UFOs are neither flying nor objects, but rather part of an intelligence that co-exists with us and has the ability to materialize, he explained.

World War 3 Scenarios & Military Technology

William B. Scott for a discussion about possible World War III scenarios and the latest in military technology. He described one possible scenario in which North Korea launches a missile to knock out space satellites. This could also involve an electromagnetic pulse that damages circuitry on the ground, greatly affecting Americans ability to use ATM and credit cards. Such an attack is "like pouring molasses on society-- everything slows down," he said.

Americans angry at the acquittal of George Zimmerman over the death of Trayvon Martin took to the streets in US cities throughout Saturday night, with more protests expected today.

Spontaneous marches of varying sizes erupted in cities including San Francisco, Chicago, Washington, Atlanta and Philadelphia and were largely peaceful, although there were sporadic acts of vandalism.
The protesters appeared to be heeding the advice of officials and others who urged them not to resort to violence.

Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson tweeted within minutes of the acquittal: "Avoid violence, it will lead to more tragedies. Find a way for self construction not deconstruction in this time of despair."

Several hundred demonstrators marched peacefully amid a heavy police presence in downtown San Francisco soon after the verdict. Many carried signs with slogans such as "The people say guilty".

Hours later angry protesters marching through Oakland - just across the bay from San Francisco - spray-painted cars and smashed windows, helicopter video footage posted by the Oakland Tribune showed. One vandalised vehicle was a police cruiser.

In Chicago, to the cry of "No justice, no peace! No racist police!" a crowd of activists held a noisy downtown rally, the Chicago Tribune reported, while protesters gathered at Times Square in New York to vent their anger
Los Angeles police declared a "citywide tactical alert" when some 200 demonstrators gathered at a park to demonstrate, but police later told local media that it was as a precaution, and that there had been no acts of violence.

In Washington, dozens of mostly African-American youths marched chanting slogans in a city neighbourhood. They were followed closely by patrol vehicles, one journalist reported.

One Washington protester said: "This shows that our children really are not safe.

"Anybody can do anything to them while they are out there minding their business so I think it's a sad day for our justice system and there needs to be some reform. People really need to think about the decision that was made today."

The decision drew angry shouts from some of the dozens of demonstrators who had gathered on the streets but another protester said the outcome of the trial was expected.
"There is nobody out here that is surprised about what took place this evening. People are disappointed but not surprised," he said.

A crowd of several hundred gathered all day Saturday outside the courthouse in Sanford, Florida -- and many were outraged when the verdict was read.

"It's the end of our justice system," said Ashton Summer, a 20-year-old Puerto Rican. "Justice is not equal for everyone."

The ANSWER coalition, which helped organise large protest rallies during the Iraq war, said it would hold marches Sunday in seven US cities, as well as three separate ones in New York.

Celebrities also reacted. Beyonce called at a Nashville concert for a moment of silence for Martin. Elsewhere, rapper Young Jeezy released a song in Martin's memory and Russell Simmons called for a peace.

Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump acknowledged the disappointment of Trayvon Martin's supporters. However, he said, "for Trayvon to rest in peace, we must all be peaceful".

Regarding, the Benghazi assault in Libya, repeated requests for increased security were turned down by Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, Pelton noted. Then, "instead of admitting that this had been a predictable and expected situation, the State Dept. came up with a ridiculous story about a video that incited these people to riot, even though the actual al-Qaeda insurgents were saying, 'no, that's not why we attacked your Embassy,'" he detailed. The problem with al-Qaeda, he continued, is that they are now spread across the globe like a franchise, and can't be attacked on a single battlefield.

Pelton analyzed the situation in countries such as Russia, and Mexico, as well as various nations in Africa, and how AFRICOM (United States Africa Command) has been deployed. He also talked about how private contractors are often ex-military personnel who discover that they can make more money as a contractor, and won't have to be constrained by military regulations. There has been an increase in the use of proxy forces, where for instance in Uganda, the US hired the Ugandan army to go after the Al-Shabaab terrorists in Somalia, he reported.
