Restore the Fourth is a grassroots, non-partisan, non-violent movement that seeks to organize and assemble nationwide protests on July 4th, 2013. Protesters in over 100 cities across America will gather to demand that the government of the United States of America adhere to its constitutionally dictated limits and respect the Fourth Amendment. http://www.RestoretheFourth.net provides a detailed list of protest locations.

Restore the Fourth maintains that justification of the Fourth Amendment beyond the original text need not be given; the legitimacy of which is self-evident. "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." The Fourth Amendment of the Bill of Rights clearly protects all citizens' assets, both digital and physical, against searches and seizures without warrant; they aim to assert those rights. They insist that the proper channels of government work to ensure that all policy complies with the supreme laws of the United States of America in their entirety.

Restore the Fourth requests that American citizens' right to privacy is respected and stands with the Electronic Frontier Foundation and StopWatching.us on their open letter to Congress. As informed members of the American electorate, they endorse and echo the letter's demands.

1. Enact reform this Congress to Section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act, the state secrets privilege, and the FISA Amendments Act to make clear that blanket surveillance of the Internet activity and phone records of any person residing in the U.S. is prohibited by law and that violations can be reviewed in adversarial proceedings before a public court;

2. Create a special committee to investigate, report, and reveal to the public the extent of this domestic spying. This committee should create specific recommendations for legal and regulatory reform to end unconstitutional surveillance;

3. Hold accountable those public officials who are found to be responsible for this unconstitutional surveillance.

The July 4th demonstrations seek to demand an end to the unconstitutional surveillance methods employed by the U.S. government and to ensure that all future government surveillance is constitutional, limited, and clearly defined.

Restore the Fourth aims to ensure that the will of the people is reflected in the government of the United States of America. This movement intends to bring an end to twelve years of Fourth Amendment abuses, and demonstrate the need for a return to the Constitution. All Americans should stand with them in this cause to protect the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Protests took place across the US on Thursday to demonstrate opposition to sweeping National Security Agency surveillance programs.

The events were organised by a newly hatched organisation called Restore the Fourth, named after the constitutionally guaranteed protection against illegal search and seizure under the Fourth Amendment. Rallies and marches took place in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York City, Washington DC and dozens of other US cities.

Ryan Brown, a regional leader for the San Francisco Bay protests who has been co-ordinating with national organisers, said his participation in Restore the Fourth stemmed from concern over excessive governmental power implied by the spying programs. "I see it as ethically disgusting that the government has both the opportunity and the ability ... to collect the data on us individually, without a given reason other than quote-unquote 'protecting our freedoms'," he said.

Restore the Fourth describes itself as a "grassroots, non-partisan, non-violent movement", according to its website. Its central demands are to ask Congress to enact reform of the Patriot Act, which has been used as legal justification for the surveillance programs, to call for the formation of a special committee to investigate the extent of the spying programs, and to hold public officials accountable if they are found to be responsible for unconstitutional surveillance efforts.

Edward Snowden, a 29-year-old system administrator and former undercover CIA employee, has revealed himself as the source behind the biggest intelligence leaks in the National Security Agency (NSA)'s history. Snowden admitted his role in the leaks in a 12-minute video interview recorded in Hong Kong where he is currently staying, The Guardian reported on Sunday.

The British newspaper said Snowden flew to Hong Kong on May 20 after copying the last set of documents he intended to disclose at the NSA's office in Hawaii. The paper pointed out that it was revealing Snowden's identity at his own request. In the interview, he denounced what he described as systematic surveillance of innocent US citizens, saying his " sole motive is to inform the public as to that which is done in their name and that which is done against them."

Breaking: Quebec Crude Oil Train Derailment Sparks Fire And Explosions

7/6/13 - LAC MEGANTIC, Que. - Balls of flames shot several metres into the air after a train carrying crude oil derailed in the Quebec town of Lac-Megantic early Saturday, sparking several explosions in the downtown core. Up to 1,000 people were evacuated in the community about 250 kilometres east of Montreal. It was not immediately known whether there were any casualties. Quebec provincial police Lt. Michel Brunet said it was too early to say if anyone was dead.

"We're told some people are missing but they may just be out of town or on vacation," Brunet told a news conference.

"We're checking all that, so I can't tell you at the moment whether there are any victims or people who are injured."

Lac-Megantic resident Claude Bedard described the scene as "dreadful."

"It's terrible," Bedard said. "We've never seen anything like it. The Metro store, Dollarama, everything that was there is gone."

(CBC) A train carrying crude oil derailed overnight in the heart of Lac-Mégantic in Quebec's Eastern Townships, sparking a major fire that has brought firefighters from the town and neighboring municipalities to the area, and led to the evacuation of 1,000 people from their homes.

Witnesses reported having heard several explosions in the town of about 6,000 located 250 kilometers east of Montreal. The derailment happened around 1 a.m. ET.
It is not yet known if there are any casualties.
A spokesperson for Ontario's Environment Ministry says 73 rail cars filled with crhde oil were involved.
The fire, which can be seen for several kilometers, has spread to a number of homes, although it is not clear how many people have been forced to leave.
Over 1,000 people have been evacuated from their homes after a train derailment led to several explosions and a major fire in downtown Lac-Mégantic. (CBC)

A large, but as yet undetermined amount of fuel, is also reported to have spilled into the Chaudiere River.
The derailed train belongs to Montreal Maine & Atlantic, which owns more than 800 kilometers of track serving Maine, Vermont, Quebec and New Brunswick, according to the company's website.
The cause of the derailment is under investigation.

How To Identify GMO-Free Food NOT Looking At Labels

I can imagine that you do not like this information, because it is uncomfortable.

Just the simple quality and nutrient content is much lower in GMO produced food.
This is why it is so important to have the wild foods and the old types of our raw foods on our table.

Those apples did contain 50 times more nutrients than our modern-timers.
We need the old, wild sorts.
Those are the foods that also have more life force and are better prepared to survive in nature without our protection.

(Telegraph) Venezuela and Nicaragua offer Edward Snowden asylum
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has offered to give "humanitarian asylum" to NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.
"As head of state of the Boliviarian republic of Venezuela, I have decided to offer humanitarian asylum to the young Snowden ... to protect this young man from the persecution launched by the most powerful empire in the world," Mr Maduro said at an independence day event.
Moments earlier in Nicaragua, President Daniel Ortega said his government was willing to give asylum to the US fugitive, offering a glimmer of hope to Mr Snowden, who has been in limbo at Moscow's international airport since June 23.
He said the Nicaraguan embassy in Moscow received Mr Snowden's application for asylum and that it is studying the request.
"We have the sovereign right to help a person who felt remorse after finding out how the United States was using technology to spy on the whole world, and especially its European allies," Mr Ortega said.
Mr Snowden has applied for asylum in 27 countries as he tries to evade American justice for disclosing a vast US electronic surveillance program.

But his bids have been rebuffed by several European nations as well as Brazil and India.
The 30-year-old former National Security Agency contractor, however, has received more sympathy from leftist governments in Latin America.
The offers came amid the ongoing fallout over the rerouting of Bolivian President Evo Morales' plane in Europe earlier this week amid reports that Mr Snowden might have been aboard.
Spain on Friday said it had been warned along with other European countries that Mr Snowden was aboard the Bolivian presidential plane, an acknowledgement that the manhunt for the fugitive leaker had something to do with the plane's unexpected diversion to Austria.
It is unclear whether the United States, which has told its European allies that it wants Mr Snowden back, warned Madrid about the Bolivian president's plane. US officials will not detail their conversations with European countries, except to say that they have stated the US's general position that it wants Mr Snowden back.
President Barack Obama has publicly displayed a relaxed attitude toward Mr Snowden's movements, saying last month that he wouldn't be "scrambling jets to get a 29-year-old hacker."
But the drama surrounding the flight of Bolivian President Evo Morales, whose plane was abruptly rerouted to Vienna after apparently being denied permission to fly over France, suggests that pressure is being applied behind the scenes.

Breaking: Police investigate Adam Kokesh for YouTube video loading shotgun in front of U.S. Capitol

July 5, 2013 - Police investigate man for posting YOUTUBE video loading shotgun in front of U.S. Capitol --- D.C. police are investigating libertarian activist and radio host Adam Kokesh after he released a video showing himself loading a shot gun in the middle of Freedom Plaza in Washington. In the video, Kokesh loads the shot gun four times as he stands in the plaza on Thursday with the Capitol building clearly shown behind him. "We will not be silent, we will not obey, we will not allow our government to destroy our humanity," Kokesh says as he loads the gun. "We are, the final, American, revolution. See you next Independence Day." Kokesh had been planning a march into Washington of 1,000 gun-toting activists for July 4, but the march was ulitmately canceled. Washington Metropolitan Police had pledged to arrest marchers who planned to openly carry rifles into the city in violation of District law.
Washington Metropolitan Police and the U.S. Park Police said in a statement Thursday they are aware of the video and are currently investigating.
"The Metropolitan Police Department and U.S. Park Police are aware that today Adam Kokesh posted a video that appears to have been taken in Freedom Plaza in Northwest, D.C. We are in the process of determining the authenticity of the video."
Washington has some of the strictest gun laws in the country.

Jim Marrs ~ The Illuminati Conspiracy ; How Far Will They Go ?

Journalist Jim Marrs made a case for why he believes there is a conspiracy of a handful of elite against the masses. Marrs said former Secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, represents Rapiscan -- the company selling the scanners. If they really make people safer in the air, why did TSA turn off the scanners on the busiest travel day of the year, he questioned. He also pointed out that radiation given off by these scanners has been shown to "uncouple your DNA."

Marrs encouraged Americans to pay attention, to see the people behind the scenes looting the country, and to stand firm against being controlled by them. He spoke briefly about the Kennedy assassination, the recent sighting of a mysterious missile off the southern California coast, and the difference between a democracy and a republic as well.

95% Of Americans Will Be Dead in the Next 5-15 Years

Survival expert and health guru, Blake Sawyer, argued that the United States will no longer be a viable place to live, and people should consider immigrating to locations in the less populated Southern Hemisphere. Whether through war, disease, famine, natural disasters, or ruthless government, he predicted that 95% of those who remain in the US will be dead in the next 5-15 years. America has been targeted by the "globalists" to be taken out, he added.

Sawyer noted that the United States ranks highest in violent crime, and that countries in the Southern Hemisphere are much more tranquil. In particular, he highlighted nations in the southern region of South America as being

good choices for survivability, specifically Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, and Ecuador. "I...believe that the average American does not know that they're the frog in cold water, and they think they're OK, and they're now boiling," he declared.

The third wave of Survivalism began after the September 11, 2001 attacks and subsequent bombings in Bali, Madrid, and London. This resurgence of interest in survivalism appears to be as strong as the first wave in the 1970s. The fear of war, avian influenza, energy shortages, environmental disasters and global climate change, coupled with economic uncertainty, and the apparent vulnerability of humanity after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, has once again made survivalism popular. Preparedness is once more a paramount concern to many people who seek to stockpile supplies, gain useful skills, and develop contacts with like-minded people to learn as much as possible.

Many books have been published in the past few years [2008-2012] offering survival advice for various potential disasters, ranging from an energy shortage and crash to nuclear or biological terrorism. In addition to the 1970s-era books, blogs and Internet forums are popular ways of disseminating survivalism information. Online survival websites and blogs discuss survival vehicles, survival retreats, emerging threats, and list survivalist groups.

Economic troubles emerging from the credit collapse triggered by the 2007 US subprime mortgage lending crisis and global grain shortages have prompted a wider cross-section of the populace to prepare. James Wesley Rawles, the editor of SurvivalBlog and author of the survivalist novel Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse was quoted by the New York Times in April 2008, stating: "interest in the survivalist movement 'is experiencing its largest growth since the late 1970s'". In 2009, he was quoted by the Associated Press as stating: "There's so many people who are concerned about the economy that there's a huge interest in preparedness, and it pretty much crosses all lines, social, economic, political and religious. There's a steep learning curve going on right now."

The advent of H1N1 Swine Flu in 2009 piqued interest in survivalism, significantly boosting sales of preparedness books and making survivalism more mainstream. Events such as the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami have revitalized the survivalist community.

These developments led Gerald Celente, founder of the Trends Research Institute, to identify a trend that he calls "Neo-Survivalism". He explained this phenomenon in a radio interview with Jim Puplava on December 18, 2009:

July 4th, Boy Shot in the Head Watching Fireworks

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. (WTVR) -- A seven-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was shot in the head outside The Boathouse Restaurant in Midlothian about 9 p.m. Thursday. The boy was shot walking with his father in the parking lot of the restaurant, police said. The father and son were there to watch some nearby fireworks.
"A large crowd had been gathering over by the reservoir to watch fireworks and a young boy, seven years old, was walking through the parking lot with his dad. He was a few step behind his dad and he [the boy] fell to the ground," Chesterfield Police Capt. Brad Badgerow said. "Initially they thought he was just passed out. They saw some blood. They thought he may have hit his head."
But when the child was taken to the hospital, doctors made a startling discovery.
"When medical personnel were treating him, they found what they believe to be a bullet wound in the top of his head," Badgerow said.
Police said it is unlikely that the shot was intentionally fired at the boy, and that the bullet likely came from a gun fired off the premises.
"We don't think this was an intentional shooting. We think that somebody in or around the Brandermill area was celebrating the Fourth of July. Unfortunately we think they were shooting a gun in a reckless manner and this young boy is a victim," Badgerow said.

"This is a terrible situation. We want to reach out to the public to appeal to everybody who may have any information on this at all," Badgerow said. Breaking: Fireworks Explosion at Crowd of 10,000, 14 Wounded

July 4, 2013 - SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- An accident during a Fourth of July fireworks display in Simi Valley injured at least 14 people Thursday, according to Ventura County fire officials. The incident occurred at the Rancho Santa Susana Community Park located near East Los Angeles Avenue and Sterns Street around 9:30 p.m.

Police said fireworks accidentally detonated during the show.

The event, which was sponsored by the support of the Rancho Simi Recreation and Parks District, was stopped immediately following the mishap.

Letters from Guantanamo Bay ~ inmate accuses US military of rape

In the letter obtained by Al Jazeera, Chekkouri describes being sexually assaulted by guards as they search him each time he leaves and returns to his cell in order to talk to his lawyer or his wife. And he says he is not the only one enduring this kind of treatment.
In response to the allegations, the Pentagon described Guantanamo guards as "some of the most professional, most heavily scrutinized guards on the planet" adding that "absurd accusations simply do not withstand intellectual rigor".
Inside Story Americas interviewed Cori Crider, the strategic director for Reprieve, a London-based legal action charity, who is also Chekkouri's attorney. She shared information on his life before he was taken to Guantanamo. According to Crider, Cherkkouri comes from a Sufi family in Morocco, but has not lived in Morocco in many years. He was a travelling student living abroad with his family across the Middle East and South Asia, and was living with his wife and brother in Afghanistan before the US invasion.
Chekkouri was arrested trying to flee the invasion. He has been cleared and awaiting release for a long time now, his lawyer said.
Crider said there is no intention to charge Chekkouri with an offense at any point, and she has tried to take his case to a judge. Chekkouri has done everything he can to pursue the legal avenues available to him, she said, adding that "Barack Obama's task force cleared him, yet still he is there".
Another letter from a Guantanamo detainee, Abdelhadi Faraj, was published on Huffington Post. Faraj is a Syrian national who has been in US custody since 2002. He was cleared for release by a US government inter-agency taskforce in 2010, but remains imprisoned at Guantanamo.
"It is not unusual for prison guards here to search prisoners' genital parts and their rectum 10 times in a single day. Daily, I am forced into a restraint chair, my arms, legs and chest tied down tight. Big guards grab my head with both hands. I feel like my skull is being crushed. Then, so-called nurses violently push a thick tube down my nostril. Blood rushes out of my nose and mouth. The nurses turn on the feeding solution full throttle. I cannot begin to describe the pain that causes," Faraj's letter says.
It continues: "Recently, a nurse brutally yanked out the force-feeding tube, threw it on my shoulder, and left the cell, leaving me tied down to the chair. Later, the nurse returned to the cell, took the tube off my shoulder and began to reinsert it into my nose. I asked him to cleanse and purify the tube first but he refused. When I later tried to complain to another nurse about the incident, the other nurse threatened to force the feeding tube up my rear, not down my nose, if I did not suspend my hunger strike."

BREAKING: Boy Run Over, Killed by July 4th Parade Float in Edmond, Oklahoma

EDMOND, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities say a boy has died after he was run over by a float at the end of a Fourth of July parade in central Oklahoma.
Edmond Police Officer James Hamm says the boy was riding on a martial arts group's float at the city's LibertyFest parade on Thursday morning.
Hamm says the boy fell or got down from the float at the end of the parade and was struck by the same vehicle.

Authorities in Edmond, just north of Oklahoma City, didn't immediately release the names of the boy or the driver.
Hamm says the incident was an unfortunate, freak accident.
