Scholar of ancient text, prophecy, and consciousness, Steven Hairfield discussed our changing times. Through his cross study of the Vedas, Sutras, Nag Hammadi, Dead Sea Scrolls, and works of the Hopis and Mayans, he believes that everything is pointing towards the imminent "awakening of the soul" or "birth of the divine." This transformation deals with a change in polarities both on a personal and planetary scale, he explained.

Hairfield sees massive earth changes occurring as we are coming to the conclusion of two cycles- one of 5,000 years, the other of 25,000 years. He has recalibrated the Mayans' end date of "2012," and predicts that cataclysmic events could come this year, such as major quakes on the West Coast of the U.S., which he said are overdue. Eventually he foresees much less land mass, such as shown in the maps of Lori Toye. An advocate of meditation, Hairfield stressed the importance of experiencing the stillness of mind in order for guidance. He views the upcoming changes as a positive transformation for humankind.

Director at Edgar Cayce's A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment) since 1969, John Van Auken discussed the "Sleeping Prophet's" visions for the future, as well as his insights into such topics as the Mayans, Egypt, Atlantis, dreaming, and health remedies. The Mayans were comparable to the Atlanteans in terms of their being attuned to "celestial consciousness," but both groups eventually devolved into more war-like states, Cayce said. Interestingly, Cayce's view of seven cycles or ages corresponds with the Mayans, Van Auken noted. Passageways in the Great Pyramid at Giza have prophecies carved in stone, which end in the year 2038, and Cayce concurred that these predictions were for the most part correct, said Van Auken.

Cayce believed that souls similar to ours exist in different forms in other dimensions and planets, and that it's possible to communicate with them. Further, he said that the human body was evolving into a new form, and that we would eventually have 12 chakras (energy centers) instead of seven. Regarding reincarnation, he suggested that our individual personalities are absorbed back into the soul upon death.

According to Van Auken, Cayce accurately predicted such events as the Stock Market Crash of 1929, World War II, and the Indonesian tsunami of 2004. His future predictions include a pole shift, and the Great Lakes draining into the Gulf of Mexico via the Mississippi & Ohio rivers. Cayce gave many medical readings throughout his career, and the A.R.E. offers a free database of some of this information.

2/22/13 - Donald Trump stopped by On The Record to share his thoughts on the impending sequester with Greta Van Susteren. Trump dismissed the hypo over the spending cuts, saying that they should be much deeper, and predicted that if the government avoids making any serious cuts for the next few years, there will be a "big fat explosion and it's all going to come to an end." Trump said "not a lot is going to happen" as a result of the automatic sequester, dismissing the "over-exaggerated" alarm and added that the cuts do not go far enough. He told Van Susteren that the nation is going to have to endure far deeper spending cuts in order to get a balanced budget. Van Susteren asked Trump what would happen if the U.S. government resists the urge to cut spending. Trump predicted that if this happens, then in a few years there will be a "big fat explosion" in the nation's economy and "it's all going to come to an end." He acknowledged that action should be taken to make the United States great again, "because it's not that great right now." He attributed the nation's economic woes to both incompetence and partisan politics. Trump allowed that it was a widespread problem in government, but ultimately "the president is your leader," blaming President Obama for being unable to fix the broken economy in his first four years. He predicted that in 2016, China will become the dominant economic superpower, and they will have done it "on our back." Van Susteren ended by asking if Trump has any presidential aspirations in 2016. Trump said he does not, adding that he loves the United States and would be happy if the president could make the country great again, but said that's not likely to happen any time soon.

There's been little sign of movement by Democrats or Republicans toward a deal this week on the "sequester," the $85 billion across-the-board cuts in discretionary programs due to begin March 1. President Obama and congressional Democrats have stuck with their argument that the spending cuts should be replaced at least in part by higher taxes and reduced farm subsidies. And Republicans have resolutely rejected anything that looks like a tax hike.
Nevertheless, the rhetoric about the sequester is intensifying, betraying how worried both sides are -- not about the cuts themselves, necessarily, but about the chance that the public would blame them for what ensues. The Republican National Committee, for example, released a video on YouTube on Thursday arguing that Obama was for the sequester before he was against it. Naturally, it took his comments about the sequester completely out of context, as Buzzfeed's Andrew Kaczynski pointed out. Still, the operative Republican talking point is that the White House came up with this crazy idea, so if it actually happens, it's not the GOP's fault.
Democrats, meanwhile, are trying to focus the public's attention on the personnel and services that will be cut -- such as FBI and Border Patrol agents, air traffic controllers and Head Start slots -- and accusing Republicans of refusing to consider the Democrats' alternative. Although Obama has led the charge on this front, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released videos Thursday blasting 27 individual Republican House members for doing more to protect "millionaires" than the economy.
The committee's videos tout the Democrats' proposed replacement for the sequester without mentioning that it's built around another multibillion-dollar tax hike -- the second so far this year. Yet that's the make-or-break issue here. Neither side wants to furlough air traffic controllers or customs agents, but Republicans want to lock in more spending cuts, and that's one thing the sequester would deliver.
So if nothing changes and the sequester goes into effect, will the public blame Republicans for refusing to consider replacing the cuts with tax hikes on high-income Americans and oil and gas companies? Will they blame Democrats for failing to offer an alternative the GOP might possibly support? Will they blame Obama for coming up with the idea, thinking the prospect of a sequester was so horrible that it would help break the congressional logjam on a long-term plan to reduce the deficit?

2/22/13 - Rush Limbaugh knew that his radio show ratings would be up after his controversial comments from Thursday about being "ashamed of my country" for the first time. He welcomed his new listeners by saying, "I realize that many of you tuned in today wanting to hear more of this... You wanted to hear more about it, and I haven't really discussed it yet and you're probably angry, and I want to tell you why." He went on to explain that he "didn't say this yesterday to generate attention, interest, or whatever. I don't do that. That's not the reason I say anything, any day." But he did admit to waiting until the later part of his show to address the comments because of "the old broadcast trick of hooking you in and keeping you waiting." Limbaugh then spent two minutes replaying the essence of what he said on Thursday's show, which has ironically drawn similar criticism to what First Lady Michelle Obama said in 2008 about being "proud of her country for the first time." Once the excerpt was over, he began to clarify what he had meant, in order to fend off accusations that he's "ashamed" of himself. On the contrary, Limbaugh continued to insist that he's "ashamed" of the liberal direction in which the country has gone, despite his best efforts to "inform" the people. "Anyway, my point with all this is that for 25 years, folks, we've been dealing with the same premise: "Unless we spend another dime, the country is going to cease to exist," and for 25 years I have responded to each premise on what I call an intellectual, point-by-point basis refuting every claim. The purpose of this program has been to create as large a body of informed voting citizens as possible. While we've been largely and profoundly successful at that, the left has beaten us. They have created far more low-information, unaware, uneducated people than we've been able to keep up with. By the end of the segment, there was a real sense of resignation in Limbaugh's voice, a feeling that his brand of conservatism may have hit a wall. "I'm fed up with it," he said. "I can't do it anymore." He concluded by reiterating the sentiment that has drawn support from Sean Hannity and Herman Cain among other Republicans, saying, "The whole thing is shamefully absurd. I don't know how else to say it."

In the first half, author and researcher Greg Little talked about the passing of Edgar Evans Cayce (the son of 'sleeping prophet' Edgar Cayce), as well as Cayce's predictions and writings about Atlantis. Edgar Evans recently passed away at the age of 95. Growing up, he didn't take much interest in his father's psychic abilities, though he did become an engineer based on one of his father's readings. In later years, Edgar Evans became active in the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.), the organization founded by his father. While Cayce's health readings have been called stunningly accurate, Edgar Evans wrote a book called The Outer Limits of Edgar Cayce's Power, which included his father's predictions that had not yet come to pass.

According to Edgar Cayce, the civilization of Atlantis dated back some 200,000 years, and was an island empire spread across the Atlantic ocean, from Spain to the Bahamas. He talked about the Atlanteans using specialized crystals that took light from the sun, and focused it into a beam to generate electricity, and other types of power. Cayce said that Atlantis underwent three periods of destruction, with the most recent possibly around 10,000 BC, when comet fragments lead to a tsunami that caused the main part of the island to sink into the ocean, Little recounted. He also shared that Cayce was in correspondence with both Tesla and Edison. Tesla told Cayce that he had a similar trance ability to his, where inventions would be shown to him in a vision, while Edison discussed his interest in building a machine to communicate with the dead.

In the latter half, Michael Horn, spokesperson for famed UFO contactee Billy Meier, gave updates in the case, and talked about the confirmation of messages imparted to Meier via the Plejarans (the ET species he's been in communication with). Meier, now 76 years old, had his first contacts from the ages of 5 -11, and was tutored by a male ET, who took him many places, including off-planet, Horn detailed. Meier made an intriguing pronouncement in 1982 that Earth had just narrowly avoided a planetary invasion. A planetary system with some 16 billion people was seeking new planets to occupy and had selected Earth. "The Plejarans along with two other groups they are associated with negotiated these people into another location," said Horn, who added that we are not faced with current threats from ETs, though there are three different groups here to observe us, and sometimes their spacecraft are seen in the skies.

According to Horn, Meier was one of the first to warn about global warming and climate change in his writings from as far back as 1951. In 1982, he described touchscreen three-dimensional technology, which he saw "when he was watching a planetary alignment from a spaceship," Horn continued. He also revealed that the Plejarans told Meier that the Fukushima disaster is much worse than people were told, and that contamination from it is quite problematic. In 1981, Meier gave information on a devastating "red meteor" that would hit between the Black Sea and the North Sea either in 2029 or 2036. Horn noted that those dates correspond with when the asteroid Apophis is due to fly by. Additionally, Meier warned of a catastrophic earthquake that would hit San Francisco at time when cars will appear rounded with sweeping windshields.

According to Burgess, Jesus was not divine and was, in fact, married to Mary Magdalene. The two had a child and escaped to the South of France following his crucifixion. While no unique bloodline from

 Jesus exists today, Burgess pointed out that all of us share DNA from people who lived 2,000 years ago. Burgess believes that the facts surrounding Jesus' life and true mission have been twisted by the Catholic Church in order to exercise control over the masses. Barnett talked about Nicolas Haywood, a mysterious man who claimed to represent a secret society known as the Priory of Sion. I spend a lot of time in Western Australia and my friend who lives at Exmouth called me just a minute ago. He said that the locals in the town are all curious about the increase in people, traffic, aircraft etc. travelling to and from the Learmonth (Project Wormwood) Observatory, which is approx. 30 miles down the road. He estimates the people and goods and traffic has tripled over the last 10 days. Much of this has been via the Exmouth airport. There have been some military brass amongst them. It is a similar situation in the town of Carnarvon. Of course, there is no official acknowledgment of anything out of the ordinary. I have asked him to discretely sniff around more and I will keep this group informed.

Unusual Animal Deaths and Disappearances

Linda Moulton Howe, reporter and editor for Earthfiles, presented an update on unusual animal deaths and disappearances. Specifically, Linda spoke about an unusual case in Pondera County, Montana where a mutilated cow appears to have been dropped from the sky.

According to Linda, the dead cow's udder had been excised as well as the rectal/vaginal region. The animal's left eyeball and ear, jaw flesh and tongue had also been removed. There were no signs of predatory attack, she explained, noting that traces of blood and animal tracks (even from the mutilated cow) were also conspicuously absent in the vicinity. Linda said the cow's condition was typical of animal mutilations worldwide, and suggested that these unfortunate animals are being used by a 'non-human intelligence' for genetic research or food.

The evidence seems to indicate that the animal fell from a considerable height, as its body hit the ground with enough force to bounce to its final resting place several feet away, Linda said. She speculated that an advanced beam technology was used to pick up the Pondera County cow.

Former reporter for the Wall Street Journal, Michael Drosnin spoke about the Bible Code, and the various prophetic messages that have been gleaned from it. Based on a computer software program developed by the Israeli mathematician, Prof. Eliyahu Rips, the Bible Code finds hidden messages or phrases in equidistant letter sequences in the Hebrew language version of the first five books of the Bible. What convinced Drosnin of its reality was the correct prediction of Yitzhak Rabin's assassination, which he discovered about a year before it happened. He recounted how he tried to warn Rabin beforehand, and now meets with various intelligence agencies such as the Mossad.

A year before the 2008 election, Drosnin said he found the phrase "B. Obama is President" in the Bible Code, and also learned that there was danger that could be prevented for Obama. He related this information to Oprah Winfrey, who was said to pass this on to Obama. Drosnin also said that according to the Bible Code, it was Barack Obama's destiny to help prevent a nuclear terrorist attack, and that he will be re-elected in 2012.

After the 9-11 attacks, Drosnin said he found references to it in the Bible Code, with such phrases as "twin towers," "airplane," "terror attack," and "it knocked down," all encoded within a few verses. George Knapp was joined by author David Aaronovitch for an examination of the origins of conspiracy theories, why people believe them, and also to make an argument for a true skepticism based on a thorough knowledge of history and a strong dose of common sense. Based on his research, Aaronovitch defined a conspiracy theory as "an explanation for something which is far more complicated and removes responsibility from the obvious people to the not obvious people, in situations where the more obvious explanation is more likely."

Aaronovitch detailed a number of problematic attributes which he feels "attach themselves" to conspiracy theories and those who subscribe to them: Conspiracy theories do not allow for accident, incompetence, or coincidence. The official version of events "almost always, at its heart" has anomalies that cannot be reconciled. Scholars, usually with exaggerated credentials, are named as proponents of the theory. The theory is anti-elite and, thus, the theorist becomes "kind of a minuteman" warning the populace about the "powers that be."

On why there needs to be skepticism about conspiracy theories, Aaronovitch used the example of recent developments in the UK which arose as a result of rumors that vaccines cause autism. He explained that this theory became so pervasive that people began to stop having their children vaccinated. In turn, Aaronovitch lamented, the measles virus re-emerged back into the population after it had been eradicated in previous years. "This stuff has to be combated because it does have consequences for people," he declared. On a far larger scale, he noted that the widespread belief in the fraudulent Protocols of the Elders of Zion in Nazi Germany acted as a proverbial "warrant for genocide" for many misguided players in WWII.

Aaronovich also looked at a number of suspect issues surrounding a variety of conspiracy theories. With regards to the Moon Landing hoax, he observed that to complete such a fabrication would require far more manpower than the actual lunar landing itself. In addition to that, he pointed out that lunar conspiracy theorists often focus solely on the Apollo 11 landing and ignore the many other trips made to the moon. Regarding 9/11, Aaronovich conceded that the official version of events is also a conspiracy theory, but that its very simplicity is what makes this theory much more plausible than a grand overarching plan by nefarious forces inside the US government. To that end, he noted that if the government was truly clever enough to "organize conspiracies," then they would have planted WMDs in Iraq rather than invade the country and find none. "It would have been a much simpler thing to do," he mused, "and yet they didn't."

Lindsey pointed to climate change being caused by an increase in solar activity. The Book of Revelation talks about "a heat wave to end all heat waves" that's going to occur during that final seven years before Christ returns, he noted. As the planet heats up, storms are going to get greater and greater, he added.

With the advent of Pope Benedict XVI's sudden resignation, author John Hogue discussed the prophecies of St. Malachy, the 12th century Irish bishop who predicted all the subsequent popes following a vision. Malachy was on a pilgrimage in Rome in 1140 and while situated on a hill at sunset, he "went into an ecstatic trance; his serving monks around him put out candles and paper and started writing down...his utterances of 2 or 3 word Latin mottoes," Hogue explained. This list was handed to Pope Celestine II, he continued, and was presented as a prophecy of the succession of the Popes with the mottoes representing the name or heraldry of the next 111 Popes, until the Catholic version of the Apocalypse occurs with the selection of the 112th Pope (the Pope after Benedict will be the 112th). Interestingly, Malachy's prophecy disappeared until it was rediscovered in 1595, and there was suspicion that it was a forgery.

The motto Malachy indicated for the 112th Pope referenced the name Petrus Romanus or Peter of Rome, and Hogue analyzed a number of possible candidates with Peter in their name, though he suspects the next Pope will likely be someone hailing from Italy. According to approved Catholic prophecy (which differs from Malachy's), there are several stages leading up to the Apocalypse, including a time of miracles, with mass healings, Marian apparitions, and signs in the heavens. Hogue wondered if the current spate of meteors and fireballs, as well as the coming of the bright comet ISON later this year might relate to this.

He also reviewed prophecies of Nostradamus that could relate to our current time frame, the Popes, and the Apocalypse. When Nostradamus wrote "when the great Pontiff will change lands," this could refer to how the next Pope could become a refugee after the destruction of Rome, Hogue said.
