BREAKING : Chris Dorner Cornered Shootout With Cops in Cabin

2/12/13 - Former-LAPD officer Chris Dorner is reportedly barricaded in a cabin in Big Bear after a shootout with authorities that wounded two officers. A fugitive ex-Los Angeles cop sought in three killings was barricaded in a cabin in the in the San Bernardino Mountains on Tuesday after a shootout with authorities that wounded two officers. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department says two law enforcement officers are being airlifted to a local hospital with unknown injuries. Deputies in the Big Bear area looking for Christopher Dorner responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the area about 12:20 p.m., the sheriff's office said. The people whose vehicle was stolen described the suspect as looking very similar to Dorner. The vehicle found and the suspect, believed to be Dorner, ran into the forest and barricaded himself inside a cabin. A short time later there was an exchange of gunfire between law enforcement and the suspect. It's not clear which agency the two agents wounded belong to, State Fish and Wildlife Assistant Chief Dan Sforza told KCAL. It's also believed Dorner committed a residential burglary of a cabin where a couple was tied up, an officer told The Associated Press. The officer requested anonymity because the officer was not authorized to speak publicly about the ongoing investigation. One of the people was able to get away and make a call. The area is in the Big Bear region where a search for Dorner has been under way since his pickup truck was found there Thursday. A KCAL-TV reporter in the Angelus Oaks area along Highway 38 reported gunfire in his vicinity. The noise of the gunbattle was broadcast by the station, whose reporter suddenly found himself near the fight. Someone could be heard yelling at the reporter to get out of the area. Road blocks were up around Big Bear.

In the first half, biblical prophecy expert Cris Putnam talked about the resignation of Pope Benedict in relation to St. Malachy's Prophecy of the Popes. In the 12th century, the Irish seer, St. Malachy, had a vision of who each Pope would be, and made a list of 112 names, ending with a final Pope named Petrus Romans (or Peter the Roman). Since the resigning Benedict is the 111th Pope, the next one could be the one Malachy prophesied about, saying he would deal with many tribulations, including the destruction of Rome. Whether or not the next Pope is actually named Peter may not be relevant because "every Pope has...a claim to the chair of St. Peter; just the fact that you get elected to be Pope kind of puts you as the Peter in charge at that time, so it could just be an oblique reference to an Italian Pope," he explained. Though, there are a few candidates high on the list who do have the name of Peter, he added.

Putnam found it interesting that Malachy's vision of tribulations and the destruction of Rome seem to correlate to the Book of Revelation, chapter 17, which refers to a "great harlot that sits on many waters" that has been interpreted as the Roman church gone apostate (abandoning its faith). Additionally, there's a prophecy from the ancient Book of Zohar that predicts a meteor shower hailing down on Rome in the Jewish year 5773, which corresponds to the 2012-2013 period, he noted. Putnam also shared a quatrain from Nostradamus that could be interpreted to mean that a young black Cardinal will seize the papacy.

In the latter half, biomedical gerontologist Dr. Aubrey de Grey discussed the amazing discoveries in biological technology, including how stem cell therapy and nanotechnology could be used to not only treat diseases but to halt aging, and actually repair damaged tissues. Yet, "at the moment, there is certainly not nearly enough money being invested in this work; I think it could probably go three or four times faster, if it were appropriately funded," he commented.

"Sometimes the media does have a hair trigger when you find out a murder suspect does have ties to, say, the Tea Party or some radical right group," he said. They simply don't see that they're ignoring Dorner's "left-wing ties" — even though Dorner "wants the approval of liberals!" A direct tie is simply being ignored, he continued. WW3 Report: NATO invades Africa, Israel Bombs Syria

According to the Associated Press this year the U.S. military will be deploying an army brigade code named the "Dagger Brigade" to Africa to operate in small teams in 35 countries. The Brigade will be under the direction of Gen. Carter Ham, head of the U.S. African command. The pretext given for this move is to quote "train countries to battle extremists and give the U.S. a ready and trained force to dispatch to Africa if crises requiring the U.S. military emerge". According to Gen Ham mobilizing those forces for active combat would only require an order from Defense Secretary Leon Panetta.

This announcement came as France began bombing missions in Mali early this year followed by the deployment of ground troops again under the pretext of fighting islamic terrorism. This is Charlie Sheen. You mentioned me in your manifesto so thank you for your kind words." He goes on to say, "I am urging you to call me. Let's figure out together how to end this thing," E! Entertainment reports that Sheen's video was not solicited or sanctioned by police. According to the celebrity news website, Sheen made the video on his own volition in hope of bringing an end to the deadly rampage. Sheen was one of many celebrities mentioned in Dorner's 20-page manifesto posted on Facebook last Wednesday. Israel trying to 'destabilize' Syria, al-Assad says Israel on Sunday implicitly confirmed it staged an air strike on Syria last week as President Bashar al-Assad accused the Jewish state of trying to further destabilize his war-torn country. The foreign minister of Damascus's ally Iran, meanwhile, said he welcomed Syrian opposition leader Ahmed Moaz al-Khatib's stated readiness to hold talks with representatives of the Assad regime. Four days after an air raid which Damascus said targeted a military complex near the capital, Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak spoke to reporters in Munich but refrained from explicitly confirming that Israel staged the strike. Mr. Barak told the Munich Security Conference that it was "another proof that when we say something we mean it." "We say that we don't think that it should be allowable to bring advanced weapon systems into Lebanon, the Hezbollah from Syria, when Assad falls," Mr. Barak said. Wednesday's air strike targeted surface-to-air missiles and an adjacent military complex believed to house chemical agents, according to a U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Damascus has threatened to retaliate, further fuelling fears of a regional spillover of the country's 22-month conflict which the UN says has already left more than 60,000 people dead. Israeli armed forces chief Lieutenant General Benny Gantz on Sunday started a visit to Washington with the Syrian conflict and Iran's controversial nuclear program on his agenda. And U.S. Vice President Joe Biden flew in to Paris for talks on Monday also covering Syria with President François Hollande. In Damascus, Mr. al-Assad accused Israel of seeking to "destabilize" Syria, state news agency SANA reported. Taken together, the U.S. and EU oil embargoes could halt 2.6 million barrels of oil, driving oil prices up and adding to the overall instability of the world economy. You'd think the Europeans would not want to do anything to stop Iranian oil, after all most of Iran's oil goes to Europe. But maybe that's why the EU (with help from the U.S.) took over Libya's oil in the fake revolution supported by NATO. Now they can go after Iran without too much worry about oil supply. Hours after the European Union imposes an oil embargo and sanctions on Iran's central bank, France, Britain and Germany say they are willing to negotiate with Iran if it is ready to talk seriously about its nuclear program. "We call on Iran's leadership immediately to suspend its sensitive nuclear activities and abide fully by its international obligations," the European countries say in a joint statement. "Until Iran comes to the table, we will be united behind strong measures to undermine the regime's ability to fund its nuclear program." In response, the offices of Treasury secretary Timothy Geithner and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton issues the following statement, according to NBC News: "We welcome today's decision by the European Union to ban imports of Iranian crude oil and petroleum products, freeze the assets of the Iranian central bank, and take additional action against Iran's energy, financial, and transport sectors." Iran says a European Union decision Monday to impose new sanctions over its nuclear program is "psychological warfare," Reuters reports. "... Imposing economic sanctions is illogical and unfair but will not stop our nation from obtaining its rights," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast is quoted as saying by state television, referring to Iran's nuclear energy ambitions. Updated at 11 a.m. ET: Russia's Foreign Ministry says the European Union was wrong to impose an oil embargo on Iran over its controversial nuclear program, The Associated Press reports. "It's apparent that in this case there is open pressure and diktat, aimed at 'punishing' Iran for uncooperative behavior. This is a deeply mistaken policy, as we have told our European partners more than once. Under pressure of this sort, Iran will not make any concessions or any corrections to its policies," the ministry says. Updated at 9:45 a.m. ET: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised a European Union decision to place sanctions on Iranian oil exports, Reuters reports. "I think this is a step in the right direction," Netanyahu said at a meeting of his Likud faction in parliament. "For now, it is impossible to know what the result of these sanctions will be. Heavy and swift pressure is needed on Iran and the sanctions must be evaluated according to their results." The Rich in America: Power, Control, Wealth and the Elite Upper Class in the United States

The American upper class describes the sociological concept pertaining to the "top layer" of society in the United States. This social class is most commonly described as consisting of those with great wealth and power and may also be referred to as the Capitalist Class or simply as The Rich. Persons of this class commonly have immense influence in the nation's political and economic institutions as well as public opinion. Many politicians, heirs to fortunes, top business executives, CEOs, successful venture capitalists and celebrities are considered members of this class. Some prominent and high-rung professionals may also be included if they attain great influence and wealth. The main distinguishing feature of this class, which is estimated to constitute roughly 1% of the population, is the source of income. While the vast majority of persons and households derive their income from salaries, those in the upper class derive their income from investments and capital gains. Estimates for the size of this group commonly vary from 1% to 2%, while some surveys have indicated that as many as 6% of Americans identify as "upper class." Sociologist Leonard Beeghley sees wealth as the only significant distinguishing feature of this class and, therefore, refers to this group simply as "the rich." Theoretical physicist Michio Kaku returned to chat with Art Bell about civilizations, string theory, space missions and cosmology. He expressed enthusiasm for the Kepler Mission, a space telescope launching in 2008, that will be capable of detecting Earth-like planets in other solar systems. During its mission, it may reveal as many as 600 planets similar to ours, he noted.

String theory, which posits a vibrating multiverse, has come under criticism in some quarters. While Kaku conceded that it doesn't currently offer much predictive power, he believes the theory needs more time to be considered and validated. For instance, tests by the Large Hadron Collider in 2007 may reveal new information, he said.

Kaku also forecast into the far distant future when our universe will be dying out. At such a time, a Type 3 or 4 civilization (capable of manipulating huge amounts of energy) might construct a massive machine that could make space and time unstable. With an atom smasher the size of a solar system, he hypothesized it might open up a bubble ten light years across, through which our civilization could escape into another universe.
