BRAMPTON, Ont. -- A patient at a hospital near Toronto has been isolated as a precautionary measure after showing flu-like symptoms similar to those characteristic of the Ebola virus, a public health official said Friday.

Dr. Eileen de Villa with Peel Public Health said the steps were taken because the patient at Brampton Civic Hospital recently travelled to Nigeria, which has been hit with an outbreak of the disease.

"Because there are some health concerns ongoing in West Africa, as a precautionary measure the hospital has put in heightened infection control measures, including isolating the patient," she said in an interview.

De Villa said the patient is showing a fever and other flu-like symptoms but cautioned there has been no diagnosis yet.

"The hospital has to do its patient care work and diagnostic work in order to confirm what the exact diagnosis is."

Today is August 8th 2014. If you are familiar with my work as a trader of the capital markets, then you are familiar with my discussions of how I employ many tools to help me navigate this complex endeavor. On August 2nd I wrote a piece here on my Seeking Alpha Instablog outlining how the CBOE SKEW Index was predicting a stock market rebound. Further on August 5th, I wrote another segment discussing how despite the recent stock market sell off a singificant move higher was very likely. (Please see my previous Instablog segments with regard to the articles I mentioned above, it will shed light for you on today's blog). For me it's like this. When too many people are on one side of an equation Im looking to get on the opposite side of that trade. Pundits on the financial channels were screaming that the market was now in for a major correction. I came out publicly saying it was nonsense, and the market was going higher.

Uri Avnery on Gaza Crisis, His Time in a Zionist "Terrorist" Group & Becoming a Peace Activist

Fighting in Gaza has resumed after the expiration of a 72-hour truce expired. Israel said it launched air strikes after Palestinians fired at least 18 rockets into southern Israel after the ceasefire ended. Palestinian officials say a 10-year-old boy was killed earlier today when an Israeli air strike hit near a mosque in Gaza City. Six other people were wounded in the attack. Hamas military wing spokesman earlier called on Palestinian negotiators holding indirect talks with Israeli negotiators in Cairo to refuse any ceasefire extension unless its long-term demands were met. We speak with longtime peace activist Uri Avnery, who has pushed for Israel to engage with Hamas. Avnery is a historic figure within the Israeli peace movement. He was born in Germany in 1923. His family fled the Nazis and moved to what was then Palestine. As a youth he joined the Irgun Zionist paramilitary group which he later quit to become a leading peace activist in Israel. In 1950, he founded the news magazine, HaOlam HaZeh. Fifteen years later, he was elected to the Knesset on a peace platform. In 1982, he made headlines when he crossed the lines during the Siege of Beirut to meet Yassir Arafat, head of the then-banned Palestine Liberation Organization. In 1993, he started the Gush Shalom peace movement. He will turn 91 next month and still writes a weekly column.

EBOLA Set to Become a GLOBAL PANDEMIC - An Extraordinary Crisis to Bring in the New World Order

The Ebola virus is spreading and no one in any position of authority is releasing information to the public about how serious of a contagion this is.

It was just a few weeks ago that the CDC and mainstream media claimed it wouldn’t make it to U.S. shores, but as of this morning, reports are flowing in from all over the country from hospitals that have admitted patients who recently traveled to Africa and are showing possible symptoms of the deadly virus.

In Nigeria, where there have only been a couple of deaths reported officially, the medical community has formally requested help in the form of experimental serums from the United States, suggesting things are much worse there than are being reported.

Moreover, the World Health Organization reports an explosion in confirmed cases over the last 48 hours.

An analysis of confirmed cases from Joshua Krause at The Daily Sheeple suggests that, while the virus almost died out back in April, it is now back with a vengeance and growing at a seemingly exponential rate.

What’s most bizarre and frustrating about all of this is that neither the U.S. government or the Centers for Disease Control have provided any actionable information or advice to the American public. They maintain that they have the facilities to stop any such outbreak and continue to tout the narrative that there is nothing to fear, because they have it all under control.

Cognizant of not wanting to create hysteria, the Centers for Disease Control is keeping a lid on information concerning some of the potential Ebola victims it is keeping track of across the United States, as WHO officials prepare to declare a global health emergency.

A few months prior, Air Force General Victor Renuart said Northcom would provide “assistance in support of civil authorities” during an epidemic, adding “when requested and approved by the Secretary of Defense or directed by the President, federal military forces will contribute to federal support.”  But Renuart also said that “U.S. Northcom does not wait for that call to action.” Since then, the federal government created a new domestic command structure in which, during a government-declared emergency, the military police would work under FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security for domestic operations with the National Guard.

In an apparent attempt to avoid hysteria, U.S. health authorities are withholding details about a number of suspected Ebola victims from the public.

Obama Authorizes 'Airstrikes' On ISIS In Iraq!

President Barack Obama announced Thursday night he had authorized the U.S. military to launch targeted airstrikes if needed to protect Americans from Islamic militants in northern Iraq. (Aug. 7)







President Obama has authorized airstrikes against ISIS militants in Iraq "if necessary" to prevent potential genocide against religious minorities.
