Bill Holter of MilesFranklin.com gives a U.S. dollar and gold update. Holter warns there is a biggest short squeeze in history coming for gold and a big reset for the U.S. dollar coming sooner than later. Holter says, “You have to ask yourself, what is the dollar going to be reset against? My thought is the Chinese have every reason to argue to reset gold higher because they have gold. . . . Any country that had gold, their gold would be revalued higher. If they hold gold in reserve means their reserves would be revalued higher. If everybody else is showing their gold, it would force the U.S. to show its gold. Mathematically, I don’t see any way the U.S. does have the gold. . . . I do know that, at some point, there will be a massive short squeeze in gold once the derivatives chain breaks. Once Greece defaults, or some bank defaults and the derivatives chain breaks, there is going to be a massive outburst of I want my gold, and I want it now. This will be the biggest short squeeze in the history of history.”

Holter predicts, “We will be in marshal law by this time next year,” and adds, “There is something wrong and there is a storm out there, and the historical safe haven for all-time has been gold. The hope is to reset the system without crashing it, but I am not sure it can be done. There is just too much debt outstanding. I think everything will be reset, and China will lead the reset.”

Viral pandemics are a major threat to the United States, perhaps amongst the worst we have ever faced. Pandemics may occur naturally, by an accidental release from a laboratory, or bioattack by a nation state or terrorist organization. Bioengineering and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are particularly dangerous. The technology is advanced, widespread, and inexpensive. Some scientists believe that a new, bioengineered GMO could pose an “existential” threat to our species.

Even if the virus is not very lethal, the breakdown in economic activity and loss of law and order that ensues could kill millions of Americans if the collapse is severe and enduring. Today’s world is more dependent on “just-in-time” deliveries of food and essential supplies, more vulnerable to disruptions in economic activity, and generally less able to survive quarantine situations. “Collapse” (defined here as a cessation of most economic activity and widespread lack of law and order for a prolonged period of time) is likely to result from a viral pandemic or other disasters that trigger panic, loss of food/water/medicine for many citizens, and subsequent breakdown in law and order.

The U.S. military, and National Guard in particular, will play a key role in recovering from a severe pandemic, especially in avoiding or coping with a collapse in economic activity and law and order. Most of the guard troops deployed for Hurricane Katrina response and recovery operations were used to support law enforcement. Looting and violence in other recent public disturbances also suggest that military forces will be needed during a pandemic to back up security at medical facilities, help law enforcement maintain order, conduct quarantine enforcement, and transport (or escort) food and essential supplies.

Webster Tarpley is an American historian, economist, journalist, lecturer and a critic of U.S. foreign and domestic policy.

He received a BA degree summa cum laude in English and Italian from Princeton University in 1966. While a student at Princeton he became a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and was a Fulbright Scholar at University of Turin in Italy. Tarpley also obtained a MA degree in humanities from Skidmore College, as well as a PhD from the Catholic University of America in History.

As a European based journalist in the 1980s, Tarpley wrote a study on the assassination of Prime Minister Aldo Moro. The study claimed that the murder was a false flag operation orchestrated by Propaganda Due (a Masonic Lodge) with the cooperation of senior members of the Italian government secret services that was blamed on the Red Brigades.

As an activist historian he first became widely known for his book George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography (1992), a masterpiece of research which is still a must read.

During 2008, he warned of the dangers of an Obama presidency controlled by Wall Street with Obama: The Postmodern Coup, The Making of a Manchurian Candidate and Barack H. Obama: The Unauthorized Biography. His interest in economics is reflected in Surviving the Cataclysm: Your Guide Through the Worst Financial Crisis in Human History Against Oligarchy. He is currently completing a study of Pearl Harbor as an episode in Wall Street's war against President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the New Deal, and FDR's economic bill of rights. His books have appeared in Japanese, German, Italian, French, and Spanish

Ron Paul was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He also was a key member of the Gold Commission, advocating a return to a gold standard for our currency. He was an unwavering advocate of pro-life and pro-family values. Dr. Paul consistently voted to lower or abolish federal taxes, spending, and regulation, and used his House seat to actively promote the return of government to its proper constitutional levels. In 1984, he voluntarily relinquished his House seat and returned to his medical practice.

Dr. Paul returned to Congress in 1997 to represent the 14th Congressional district of Texas. He serves on the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, and the International Relations committee. On the Financial Services Committee, Rep. Paul serves as the vice-chairman of the Oversight and Investigations subcommittee. Dr. Paul is the author of several books, including Challenge to Liberty; The Case for Gold; and A Republic, If You Can Keep It. He has been a distinguished counselor to the Ludwig von Mises Institute, and is widely quoted by scholars and writers in the fields of monetary policy, banking, and political economy. He has received many awards and honors during his career in Congress, from organizations such as the National Taxpayers Union, Citizens Against Government Waste, the Council for a Competitive Economy, Young Americans for Freedom, and countless others.

Dr. Paul's consistent voting record prompted one Congressman to comment that "Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers' ideal of the citizen-statesman. Nepali Information Minister Minendra Rijal said there had been "massive damage" at the epicentre, from where little information is emerging.

In the first half, Harvard professor of public policy and author Robert D. Putnam discussed his groundbreaking examination of why fewer Americans today have the opportunity for upward mobility. Americans have always believed in the equality of opportunity, but now, he argues, the central tenet of the American dream seems no longer true or at the least, much less true than it was. Among his surprising findings were that smart poor kids (lower third of parental income, top third in test scores) have less chance of graduating from college than not-so-smart rich kids (upper third of parental income, bottom third in test scores).

Resources and support are increasingly available only to richer kids, as middle and upper class families deploy "air bags" to cushion their children from stressful or traumatic experiences or from mistakes they have made, while poorer families typically don't have these options, he explained. We have mostly become a two-tier society, in which poorer kids simply don't have the same chances to excel, he said, and "that poses some serious risks to the whole country," in terms of possible civil unrest, as well as a future economic drain. Putnam suggested more use of apprenticeships attached to community colleges as a stepping stone to good jobs, and holding politicians accountable for correcting the imbalance, and bringing back the American dream.

In the latter half, author, clairvoyant, and earth mysteries investigator, Betsey Lewis, talked about her latest work on transformational events taking place on Mother Earth. There are certain powerful energy centers on the planet including Mount Shasta, Stonehenge, Sedona, and Lake Titicaca, she detailed, and according to shamans and indigenous people, mountains can have more positive energies. Lewis shared accounts of communication with spirits, including with her deceased sister Kathy, who seems to have the ability to turn a radio on and off, and also touched on such topics as alien abduction, cattle mutilations, and pyramids.

In the first half, constitutional attorney and president of The Rutherford Institute, John Whitehead, talked about the rise of the police state in the United States. America has become plagued by bureaucracy, secrecy, perpetual wars, militarization, and surveillance, he declared. Essentially, we've become a nation of suspects, and the citizenry has very little recourse against any kind of action by the police, he said. By "police" he includes various kinds of law enforcement such as Homeland Security and FBI agents, who have SWAT teams, and use hollow point bullets (which explode on contact).

The current US government is not what the Founding Fathers had in mind-- it's a business or corporate concern, Whitehead continued, and the expansion of the Dept. of Homeland Security combined with the NSA could really be considered the new 4th branch of the government. This new branch of government is sending out a signal that they can come after their adversaries-- "if you step out of line, we're going to know everything you do, we can arrest you in the middle of the night," and you have no privacy, he outlined. The Patriot Act, which eviscerated the Constitution, has authorized military equipment like grenade launchers, tanks, and assault rifles to be given to local police departments, essentially creating a "standing army" which George Washington warned against, he stated. In the latter half, neo-renaissance scientist and conceptual designer, Elliott Maynard, discussed why integrating traditional, linear science with non-linear consciousness technology will yield breakthrough solutions for the global problems we face. He has laid out a new paradigm or operating system for the future human, that incorporates changes in consciousness, such as using coherent thinking to reduce conflict at the quantum level. We'll also have hybrid robots that interface with electronics but are part organic, he added.

Intelligent population management, he suggested, is an important aspect of the future, and we need to have an increased educational outreach in third world countries. He spoke about "supersensonics," a concept developed by the late Christopher Hills, involving merging intuition and psychic abilities with high technology for amazing and innovative results. Maynard also touched on such subjects as the rain forest, coral reefs, alternative energy, after-death communication, channeling, exopolitics, and interspecies communication.
