A very important issue at this time, regarding the governments of today, is the current lack of transparency due to the increase in censorship.

Within the past year, the United States government set a new high of over two hundred thousand denied Freedom of Information requests, this indicates the amount of secrecy present in the White House, and the mass storage of information the government does not intend for us to see. In the past eight years, the amount of censored documents has risen dramatically from 30% in 2008, to an alarming 64% in 2015.

These statistics alone are astonishing but, these are clear signs that the United States government is continually seeking to hide more and more information from the public eye, to keep us uninformed and unaware of what is happening in the world.

These intentions are only going to produce more ignorance within this country, which will only worsen this already crumbling nation. The government is attempting to keep the American public as their sheep so they will condone anything they do or say.

These events of the government attempting to slowly rid all the information they don't want the public to view will make the citizenry continue to stay uninformed and unintelligent, resulting in a society built upon ignorance. There will be no hope. That's why it is necessary to step up and take action.

Let this message serve as a reminder of the ongoing war between the government and the internet.

A contender to be the 2016 Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump is best known as a billionaire real estate mogul and television personality.
Synopsis

Real estate developer Donald John Trump was born in 1946, in Queens, New York. In 1971 he became involved in large, profitable building projects in Manhattan. In 1980, he opened the Grand Hyatt, which made him the city's best-known and most controversial developer. In 2004 Trump began starring in the hit NBC reality series The Apprentice, which also spawned the offshoot The Celebrity Apprentice. In 2015 Trump announced his candidacy for president of the United States and shortly after the first Republican debate became the party's frontrunner.
New York Real Estate Developer

Trump seems to have been strongly influenced by his father in his decision to make a career in real estate development, but the younger man's personal goals were much grander than those of his senior. As a student, Trump worked with his father during the summer and then joined his father's company, Elizabeth Trump & Son, after graduation from college. He was able to finance an expansion of the company's holdings by convincing his father to be more liberal in the use of loans based on the equity in the Trump apartment complexes. However, business was very competitive and profit margins were narrow.

In 1971 Donald Trump was given control of the company, which he later renamed the Trump Organization. He also moved his residence to Manhattan, where he began to make important connections with influential people. Convinced of the city's economic opportunity, Trump soon became involved in large building projects in Manhattan that would offer opportunities for earning high profits, using attractive architectural design and winning public recognition.

When the Pennsylvania Central Railroad entered bankruptcy, Trump was able to obtain an option on the railroad's yards on the West Side of Manhattan. When initial plans for apartments proved unfeasible because of the poor economic climate, Trump promoted the property as the location of a city convention center, and the city government selected it over two other sites in 1978. Trump's offer to forego a fee if the center were named after his family, however, was turned down, along with his bid to build the complex, which was ultimately named for Senator Jacob Javits.

In 1974 Trump obtained an option on one of Penn Central's hotels, the Commodore, which was unprofitable but in an excellent location adjacent to Grand Central Station. The next year he signed a partnership agreement with the Hyatt Hotel Corporation, which did not have a large downtown hotel. Trump then worked out a complex deal with the city to win a 40-year tax abatement, arranged financing and then completely renovated the building, constructing a striking new facade of reflective glass designed by architect Der Scutt. When the hotel, renamed the Grand Hyatt, opened in 1980, it was instantly popular and proved an economic success, making Donald Trump the city's best known and most controversial developer in the process.

Putin slams EU Parliament's hypocrites for "declaring war" against Russian media "propaganda"

'At war with Russia’: EU Parliament approves resolution to counter Russian media ‘propaganda’
MEPs in Strasbourg have voted on a non-legislative resolution which calls for the EU to “respond to information warfare by Russia.” RT and Sputnik news agency are alleged to be among the most dangerous "tools" of "hostile propaganda."
The EU Parliament's resolution demonstrates "political degradation" in regard to the "idea of democracy" in the West, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday, commenting on the vote.

Putin pointed out that while "everyone tries to lecture" Russia on democracy, European lawmakers themselves resort to a policy of restrictions, "which is not the best way" to deal with any issues.

"The best approach is an open discussion, in which bright and solid arguments to support one's point of view should be presented," Putin said.
Adding that he hopes the Western move to "counter Russian propaganda" won't lead to serious restrictions, the president congratulated RT and Sputnik journalists on their work.

In the Wednesday vote, 304 MEPs supported the resolution based on the report ‘EU strategic communication to counteract propaganda against it by third parties’, with 179 voting against it and 208 abstaining.

Written by a Polish member of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group, Anna Fotyga, the report alleged that Moscow aims to "distort the truth, provoke doubt, divide the EU and its North American partners, paralyze the decision-making process, discredit the EU institutions and incite fear and uncertainty among EU citizens."

The report suggests that Moscow provides financial support to opposition parties and organizations in EU member states, causing disintegration within the bloc.

At the same time, Russia is accused of "information warfare," with such entities as RT TV channel, Sputnik news agency, Rossotrudnichestvo federal agency and the Russkiy Mir (Russian World) fund alleged to be among its most threatening propaganda "tools."

The document places Russian media organizations alongside terrorist groups such as Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).

The report also mentions some "social media and internet trolls" from Russia who are thought to "challenge democratic values."

It called for the establishment of measures to tackle the perceived Russian propaganda threat, by means of "investing in awareness raising, education, online and local media." It also suggests stronger cooperation between the EU and NATO "on strategic communication."

Sputnik has already appealed to the UN, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and a number of international journalists' organizations and NGOs, including Reporters Without Borders, to take measures to stop what it considers to be interference into freedom of speech in the EU.

"The resolution hits straight at a number of respected media, including Sputnik agency, and has an aim to stop their activity in the EU. Moreover, the resolution bluntly contradicts the EU's own human rights and freedom of press norms," reads the letter signed by Sputnik Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan.

During the parliamentary debate that preceded the vote, MEPs campaigning for the resolution said the EU was "at war with Russia, on a collision course with each other traveling faster than a jet fighter," and that with an alleged "aim to split Europe, the Kremlin forces its information into our countries."

"The report is unjustified, it's not objective and is one-sided," Greek Independent MEP, Notis Marias told RT, adding that the total number of lawmakers who voted against the resolution or abstained from voting shows that "the majority of the MEPs in this house do not actually accept" it. Many of those who supported the document are from eastern Europe, Marias said, while those representing the southern part of the bloc either abstained or voted against it.
