Benjamin Creme, the official spokesperson for the "world teacher" Maitreya, appeared during the middle two hours of the program. Maitreya (photos), he said, can make himself visible in any form, using "familiars" who become vehicles for his consciousness. In fact, Creme said that it was Maitreya's consciousness that worked through Jesus during his final three years leading up to the crucifixion. Maitreya, he added, also gave advice and instructions to Yasser Arafat, whom Creme characterized as a "great man."

In addition to Maitreya, there are 14 other spiritual "masters of wisdom" who have returned to the world, to assist humanity in moving from one cosmic cycle to the next, including Jesus, who is now located in Rome, said Creme. The other planets in our solar system are teeming with life, though it is on the etheric planes, he noted. UFOs are also made of this less dense, etheric matter but can become visible when they temporarily lower their rate of vibration in order to be seen, he explained.

We can evolve by becoming detached from our emotions, and recognizing that they have no more reality than dreams, Creme advised. He also advocated practicing honesty of mind and sincerity of spirit. In the final hour, Open Lines featured callers reacting to Creme's appearance.

Biography:

Benjamin Creme, a British artist and long-time student of the Ageless Wisdom Teachings, has become the principal source of information about the emergence of Maitreya, the World Teacher. In 1959, Mr. Creme received his first telepathic message from a Master of Wisdom. Not long after, he was informed that Maitreya would return within 20 years and that he (Creme) would be given the opportunity to play an active role in this event if he chose to do so. Mr. Creme has written 10 books, gives lectures, and is interviewed regularly on radio and television. He is also coeditor of Share International, a monthly magazine read in over 70 countries.

Maitreya (Sanskrit), Metteyya (Pāli), or Jampa (Tibetan), is foretold as a future Buddha of this world in Buddhist eschatology. In some Buddhist literature, such as the Amitabha Sutra and the Lotus Sutra, he is referred to as Ajita Bodhisattva.

Maitreya is a bodhisattva who in the Buddhist tradition is to appear on Earth, achieve complete enlightenment, and teach the pure dharma. According to scriptures, Maitreya will be a successor of the historic Śākyamuni Buddha. The prophecy of the arrival of Maitreya references a time when the Dharma will have been forgotten on Jambudvipa. It is found in the canonical literature of all Buddhist sects (Theravāda, Mahāyāna, Vajrayāna), and is accepted by most Buddhists as a statement about an event that will take place when the Dharma will have been forgotten on Earth.

Origins

The name Maitreya (Metteyya in Pāli) is derived from the Sanskrit word maitrī (Pāli: mettā) meaning "loving-kindness", which is in turn derived from the noun mitra (Pāli: mitta) in the sense of "friend".

The earliest mention of Metteyya is in the Cakavatti (Sihanada) Sutta in the Digha Nikaya 26 of the Pali Canon. He occurs in no other sutta in the Pali Canon, and this casts doubt as to the sutta's authenticity. Most of the Buddha's sermons are presented as preached in answer to a question, or in some other appropriate context, but this one has a beginning and an ending in which the Buddha is talking to monks about something totally different. This leads Gombrich to conclude that either whole sutta is apocryphal, or it has at least been tampered with.

Maitreya is sometimes represented seated on a throne Western-style, and venerated both in Mahāyāna and non-Mahāyāna Buddhism. Some have speculated that inspiration for Maitreya may have come from the ancient Indo-Iranian deity Mithra. The primary comparison between the two characters appears to be the similarity of their names. According to a book entitled The Religion of the Iranian Peoples, "No one who has studied the Zoroastrian doctrine of the Saoshyants or the coming saviour-prophets can fail to see their resemblance to the future Maitreya.

Brands, which owns Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, was $29.4 million, or over 4,300 times as much as the pay of an average employee. In 2011, after four months on the job, Wendy's CEO Emil Brolick earned $4.6 million. Jim Skinner, McDonald's outgoing CEO, is slated to receive about $10 million by the end of the year. The Fast Food Forward protest comes on top of similar actions at Walmart stores across the country on Black Friday. The Walmart protests were part of an attempt to unionize the company's low-wage workers (who make an average of $8.81 an hour) by United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW). Extreme social inequality and the rapid increase of poverty have created concern among the upper middle-class layers. Prof. Gary R. Habermas discussed the historical evidence for the life of Jesus Christ, based on the work of a cross-section of contemporary scholars. Christ was a Middle Easterner, perhaps darker skinned than people typically picture him, and most scholars agree that he was a miracle worker. There are around 30 accounts of his miracles in the Gospels that can serve as historical documentation. Further, he is the only founder of a major religion to have miracles associated with him within a generation of his death, he said.

Many scholars also believe that at least in some sense Jesus was raised from the dead, Habermas asserted. "It's generally conceded that the disciples had real experiences," in terms of their witnessing his appearance after his death, he added. Alternative accounts of Jesus' life that claim he was married and had children are not backed up by any early historical data, he noted.

In the latter portion of the show, callers participated in 'Miracle Moment' Open Lines. One caller, who identified himself as the 'Lone Caroler,' said just that evening he'd stopped kids from crossing the street when a car with its lights turned off suddenly came barreling past. Appearing during the middle two hours, expert in theology, Biblical languages, and world civilizations, Mike Heiser discussed the history of apocalyptic beliefs, why for millennia we have predicted "end times," and the current concern over 12-21-12. The end date of the Mayan calendar or the closing of one of their cycles would have been a cause of celebration for the ancient Maya, and they never said anything about the end of the world, he commented. "They were really about the new beginning on the other side; I think we sort of filled in a negative field to it," he added. Further, the Bible doesn't say anything about 2012, though it may be possible to pull out some references to it using the Bible Code, or by juggling numbers mentioned in certain apocalyptic passages, Heiser continued.

He questioned the idea of the Rapture believed by some Christians, noting that this is a New Testament interpretation based on two different events related to Jesus' second coming, whereas certain occurrences in the Gospel described in different ways, are considered a single event. He spoke about the number 666 mentioned in end times prophecy, which he related to the Greco-Roman concept of the 'magic square of the sun,' a kind of occult mathematics. Through a circuitous route, the number 666 indicates something about the cosmic impostor or enemy to God or Christ, he suggested. Heiser also critiqued the work of Zecharia Sitchin, disagreeing with a number of his translations of Sumerian cuneiform, which form the foundation of his theories about Nibiru, and the Annunaki.

Scientist David Sereda discussed pole shifts and a recent FAA advisory regarding magnetic anomalies in the Bermuda Triangle. Sereda said he believes the FAA advisory, which indicates GPS will be unreliable in the area due to Department of Defense testing, is merely a cover story. According to Sereda, a ham radio operator has discovered the magnetic field anomalies in that region are not manmade, thus could
not be military-related. Recent events, including an evenly-distributed vibration that struck the whole planet and the massive bird die-offs, may indicate Earth is getting ready to find its new magnetic north and south positions, he explained. Such a polar shift would cause devestating earth changes, Sereda warned.

The cataclysmic pole shift hypothesis suggests that there have been geologically rapid shifts in the relative positions of the modern-day geographic locations of the poles and the axis of rotation of the Earth, creating calamities such as floods and tectonic events.

The pole shift hypothesis describes a change in location of these poles with respect to the underlying surface -- a phenomenon distinct from the changes in axial orientation with respect to the plane of the ecliptic that are caused by precession and nutation, and from true polar wander.

Pole shift hypotheses are not connected with plate tectonics, the well-accepted geological theory that the Earth's surface consists of solid plates which shift over a fluid asthenosphere; nor with continental drift, the corollary to plate tectonics which maintains that locations of the continents have moved slowly over the face of the Earth, resulting in the gradual emerging and breakup of continents and oceans over hundreds of millions of years.

Pole shift hypotheses are not the same as geomagnetic reversal, the periodic reversal of the Earth's magnetic field (effectively switching the north and south magnetic poles).

Transhumanism : Hidden History and Agenda

Academic researchers, Dr. Joseph P. Farrell and Dr. Scott D. de Hart, discussed transhumanism and the hidden history and agenda that have set humanity on a collision course for the Apocalypse. Transhumanism encompasses the total transformation of mankind, Farrell said, pointing out that its adherents view humanity as malleable and capable of being engineered via technological means—a process he likened to alchemy. "The ultimate goal is to reach a higher level of consciousness," de Hart added.

Farrell detailed four stages of the origin of mankind, starting in the highest state of androgyny and falling progressively lower through the mineral, vegetable, and animal conditions. Just as in alchemy, the transhumanists are attempting to reverse engineer the process in order to ascend back up into the primordial androgynous state of unity, Farrell explained. "The idea of fusing man with whatever could be imagined is part of the agenda," de Hart noted. The two cited examples of scientific research aimed at producing chimerical creations, such as a mouse genetically-engineered to produce human sperm cells.

Transhumanistic research raises the prospect that eventually a human being could be created whose parents are not human, they're mice, Farrell continued. He further suggested that GMO foods may be introducing genetic modifications in the people consuming them. Both men also referenced ancient stories, including the Old Testament tale of the Tower of Babel, as warnings against civilizations reaching beyond what they should, violating the dividing line between the powers of god and man, and getting put back into place for it.

Bell also talked about the advancement of satellites, which can knock things out of the sky with EMP pulses. Law enforcement is developing devices to remotely shut down the electronic ignition of cars they're chasing, he added. Victims of electronic harassment can use counteraction technology to block energy or absorb microwave radiation, he stated. One of his recent inventions is the QBAM (Quantum Biological Administrating Machine), a quantum healing device.

Fred Bell, a flying saucer contactee, was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After high school he joined the Air Force. He was trained to work on radar and was stationed at a facility where numerous UFO contacts were tracked. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic and it's supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the earth with lot of radiation energy. It's been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse and calculations suggest it'll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012. Reason three: The atom smasher Scientists in Europe have been building the world's largest particle accelerator. Basically, its a 27 km tunnel designed to smash atoms together to find out what makes the universe tick. However, the mega-gadget has caused serious concern, with some scientists suggesting that it's properly even a bad idea to turn it on in the first place. They're predicting all manner of deadly results, including mini black holes. So when this machine is fired up for its first serious experiment in 2012, the world could be crushed into a super-dense blob the size of a basketball. Reason four: The Bible says it If having scientists warning us about the end of the world isn't bad enough, religious folks are getting in on the act as well. Interpretations of the Christian Bible reveal that the date for Armageddon, the final battle between good an evil, has been set for 2012. The I Ching, also known as the Chinese Book of Changes, says the same thing, as do various sections of the Hindu teachings. Reason five: Super volcano Yellowstone National Park in United States is famous for its thermal springs and old faithful geyser. The reason for this is simple — it's sitting on top of the world's biggest volcano and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting every 650,000 years or so, and we're many years overdue for an explosion that will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. The pressure under the Yellowstone is building steadily, and geologists have set 2012 as a likely date for the big bang. Reason six: The physicists This one's case of bog — simple maths mathematics. Physicists at Berkely University have been crunching the numbers. They've determined that the earth is well overdue for a major catastrophic event. Even worse, they're claiming that their calculations prove that we're all going to die, very soon. They are also saying that their prediction comes with a certainty of 99 per cent; and 2012 just happens to be the best guess as to when it occurs. Reason seven: Earth's magnetic field We all know the Earth is surrounded by a magnetic field that shields us from most of the sun's radiation. What you might not know is that the magnetic poles we call North and South have a nasty habit of swapping places every 750,000 years or so — and right now we're about 30,000 years overdue. Scientists have noted that the poles are drifting apart roughly 20-30 kms each year, much faster than ever before, which points to a pole-shift being right around the corner. While the pole shift is under way, the magnetic field is disrupted and will eventually disappear, sometimes for up to 100 years.
