Thousands of Libyans have been forced from their homes as the Islamic State of Libya and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) group tries to advance on more areas. Fighting between government forces and ISIL are continuing near the fighters’ stronghold in Sirte. Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid explains.

London’s New Muslim Mayor Slams Trump -- Bill Still

The new Muslim Mayor of London has wasted no time in office to slam Donald Trump. Newly-elected Mayor Sadiq Khan said on Saturday: "If Donald Trump becomes the president I'll be stopped from going there by virtue of my faith, which means I can't engage with American mayors and swap ideas," Kahn told Time magazine. "I'm confident that Donald Trump's approach to politics won't win in America." Well, Mr. Mayor, perhaps you should stop getting your international news feed from Facebook, because that’s not what Mr. Trump has said. What Trump has made very clear in several subsequent statements is to halt immigration of undocumented Muslims. In other words, if you can’t prove who you are, don’t even bother trying to come here. Let’s hope that London has more stringent identification requirements than have been applied to our current president or our junior U.S. senator from Alberta, Canada. Mayor Kahn, in a typical newbie’s comment, charged Trump was turning communities against each other and that this is not: “… conducive to living successfully and amicably.” Ahhh, you probably mean amicably as long as Sharia law is allowed anywhere, anytime in London? Eh? He also described himself as the “antidote” to hatred, and said that he brings unique experience to the table when dealing with Muslim extremists. Yes, Mayor Kahn, I’ll just bet you do. But here’s the thing; I wonder if your unique experience will decrease the rate at which Muslims attain political hegemony over England, or not? That is the Shakespearian question of the day. Kahn also blasted the Brexit community saying that the UK leaving the EU would be: “… catastrophic for our city.” Hmmmm, that may also depend on one’s political perspective, eh? The UK votes on Brexit on Thursday, June 23rd. I’m still reporting from Washington. Good day.

A security researcher disclosed vulnerabilities in the poorly secured web domains of a Florida county elections, but he ended up in handcuffs on criminal hacking charges and jailed for six hours Wednesday.
Security researcher David Michael Levin was arrested and charged by the United States law enforcement after breaking into and disclosing some serious vulnerabilities in a couple of elections websites in Florida.
Levin, 31, of Estero, Florida was charged with three counts of gaining unauthorized access to a computer, network, or electronic instrument.
He spent six hours in jail last Wednesday before being released on a $15,000 bond, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement officials said

In the first half, Andrew Newberg, MD, a pioneer in the field of neuroscience, and business and personal-development "NeuroCoach" Mark Robert Waldman discussed their groundbreaking work examining the pinnacle of the human experience: enlightenment. Enlightenment is the life transforming experience that includes profound feelings of oneness, clarity, and surrender. Through brain scan studies on Brazilian psychic mediums, Sufi mystics, Buddhist meditators, and others, Dr. Newberg discovered specific neurological mechanisms associated with the enlightenment experiences which are available to everybody. One finding Newberg reported is that the parietal lobe (which relates to one's sense of individuality) tends to quiet down as a person begins to experience oneness, and lose their sense of self during meditation. Regular meditation practices can affect permanent changes in people's brains in just 8 weeks time, Newberg added, in areas that support memory and attention functions, and the thalamus, which is connected to sensory inputs and communication. Waldman shared exercises that people can try out, such as deep breathing, making multiple yawns which can immediately calm a person's mind, and the use of a "mindfulness" bell as a concentration focus and stress reducer. Making the "om" sound, especially within a group, is another way to alter and calm consciousness, he said. Many times if you have a specific problem, and then enter a meditative state, you can ask your intuition or 'inner wisdom voice' for a solution, Waldman shared. ---------------------------- In the latter half, doctor of philosophy, and minister Kelly Maroon spoke about her work accessing and reading the Akashic records for both people and pets. The Akashic records are a kind of GPS or footprints of the soul that contain everything that has happened in your past, and your past lives, she explained. Accessing your records can help improve oneself, heal old wounds, and find your authentic path, she noted. Angels, masters, and light beings guard our records, and communicate with Maroon about what they contain, she continued. In addition to animals also having their own Akashic records, humans have "totem animals" and animal spirits that guide us through our lives, she stated. Maroon uses different tools, such as the Native American medicine wheel, when conducting her readings. The records typically reveal details of past lives (according to Maroon, George Noory is an "old soul," whose various lives date back over 6,000 years), and by processing and understanding issues from these lives, people can often break through blockages, she cited. If someone wants to attempt to access their Akashic records on their own, she suggested entering a prayer-full state, and prepare five well-thought out questions in advance.

US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says London's newly-elected Muslim mayor could be an exception to his proposed ban on Muslims entering the United States. Trump said he was happy about Sadiq Khan’s win, adding there'll always be exceptions to his proposal. Trump proposed a temporary ban on Muslims entering the US following the terrorist attacks in Paris and California last year. Meanwhile, Sadiq Khan has said that he wants to meet with US mayors, but that he'd have to visit the country before January in case Trump wins the November 8 election. The UK Labour Party candidate has become the first Muslim mayor of a major European capital. His victory has sparked islamophobic protests in Britain, especially among far-right extremist politicians.

'Well, this is a nice way to start off': Trump scolds CNN's Chris Cuomo in awkward interview opening

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo on Monday confronted Donald Trump over his repeated attempts to cast former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as an "enabler" of her husband's decades-old marital infidelities.
In an interview on CNN's "New Day," Cuomo told Trump that a panel of voters responded negatively to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee's line of attack.

"We have a panel of independent voters, they are smart as heck, and most of them don't like it," Cuomo said, noting that the panel found the attacks "hypocritical" coming from Trump.

"What is your thinking on this line of attack?" he added.

Trump immediately criticized the anchor for not congratulating the real-estate mogul on his Republican presidential primary victory, which was made all but certain with last week's victory in Indiana.

"Well, this is a nice way to start off the interview," he said. "First of all, you should congratulate me for having won the race."

When Cuomo noted that he congratulated Trump during a previous interview, Trump sarcastically thanked the CNN anchor and slammed the network, referring to it as the "Clinton Network."

"Thank you very much," Trump said. "So warm and so well felt."

He continued: "You start off with this question, which is not surprising, because I understand CNN perhaps a lot better than you do."

Cuomo restarted his line of questioning, saying he was "surprised" Trump chose to label the former secretary of state as "an enabler" of her husband's past infidelities.

"Why waste time with that?" Cuomo said.

"She is playing the woman's card to the hilt. I watched over the weekend, and everything is about women, and, 'Donald Trump raised his voice,'" Trump said, imitating Clinton. "It's all nonsense."

Trump has faced backlash over gender-centric attacks on Clinton, who looks likely to be his opponent in November's general election. The real-estate magnate maintains high unfavorable numbers among female voters, which may be attributable in part to his long history of controversial statements about women.

On Monday, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee accused Cuomo of blowing Trump's comments about Bill Clinton out of proportion. But immediately after chiding Cuomo, Trump noted that the various 1990s scandals were a "big thing."

"You took a small amount of the speech and you build it up like it's the biggest thing in the world," Trump said. "But it's a big thing."
