Well, if the debt money system doesn’t get us, the emerging threat de jour - the immigrant tidal wave – may do it.
In
the wake of President Obama’s announcement that the U.S. will be
accepting tens of thousands of refugees from the Middle East in coming
months, Americans would do well to look to the front lines of this
refugee flood -- even in far northern Europe -- to understand its vast
negative consequences.
For example, in Sweden - where both “The
MoneyMasters” and “The Secret of Oz” are popular enough to have been
translated - many Swedish politicians now believe that Sweden’s economy
could collapse in only a decade under the weight of the immigrant
invasion.
At a press conference last week, Prime Minister Stefan
Löfven said that Sweden is in a state of crisis and has run out of
housing for the tidal wave of immigrants from Syria, Afghanistan and
Iraq.
“… we may need to house people in tents.”
Tents with the frozen Swedish winter quickly coming on could well be a recipe for a social unrest disaster.
Sweden
has prided itself on having one of the most liberal immigration
policies in the world. The ruling political parties won power on the
notion that Sweden is a rich country and has no problem handling all
asylum seekers who want to come.
Those who have dared to criticize the immigration policy are immediately accused of racism.
With
a population of only 9.8 million people, Sweden is facing an immigrant
invasion expected to near 300,000 people in 2015. That’s over 3% of its
population – in one year.!
The result? Swedish wages are already
dipping, yet taxes are rising fast. According to Sanna Norblad, local
head of the ST union:
“The pressure is enormous. The work environment has deteriorated severely.”
On
Oct. 1, the mayor of Trelleborg, on the southern tip of Sweden with a
population of only 43,000, saw 14,100 asylum seekers arrive by ferry in
the last 20 days.
Malmö, about 18 miles to the north is a major
ferry arrival point. For the past few weeks its central train station
has been overrun with migrants.
Initially, volunteers tried to
assist by bring in tons of water, food and clothing, but have now they
have been overwhelmed and have given up.
This year, violence has
spiked in Malmö. It has been rocked with car bombings, grenade attacks,
shootings, arson and multi-ethnic gang-related violence.
The flood
of Middle-eastern immigrants seems to bring with them the violence they
were accustomed to in their native lands. And, if the immigration tidal
wave continues, in a few years native Swedes will be a much poorer, and
overwhelmed political minority.
Sadly, the average Swede, who
in the past has always had great faith in their government, is realizing
that one of the richest nations in Europe is suddenly in danger of
becoming a failed state.
Interest in so-called “prepping” is huge as
Swedes begin to contemplate crisis scenarios where the power supply is
knocked out and state infrastructures crumble. According to the owner of
the online store for preppers, Fredrik Qvarnström:
“People seem to be aware that there are problems, but I do not think they know how vulnerable we really are.”

In the first half of the show, long-time scholar, Leslie S.
Klinger, discussed his latest project which showcases the work of
authors who were inspired by the masterful tales of terror penned by
Edgar Allan Poe. Klinger recalled examining the realm of nineteenth
century literature and being surprised to find a number of writers that
produced compelling works which, over time, became "lost in the shadow
of Poe's greatness." He cited more obscure authors like E.T.A. Hoffman,
Ambrose Bierce, and Robert Chambers as writers who were likely
influenced by Poe's adroit use of the short story form for horror
fiction. Klinger stressed that, while he continues to capture the
imagination of readers to this day, "those who admire Poe need to find
out that there's more out there."
Although scary tales condensed
in a short format find their roots in early human history as part of the
Bible and collections of Greek and Roman tales, Klinger observed that
they seemed to dwindle over time because publishing was more difficult
and often focused on "serious books." However, at the turn of the 18th
century, publishing technology improved and allowed for the emergence of
gothic style literature into pop culture. With the widespread
proliferation of newspapers and magazines as well as the advent of the
railroad, short stories became the ideal format for writers hoping to
reach an audience. "It was perfect for a train ride," he marveled, "you
could read the story going to or coming from work." Klinger observed
that this confluence of events, coupled with his prodigious skills as a
writer, are what led to Poe setting the standard for his contemporaries
and influencing a generation of authors.

Open Lines, a number of callers shared their Halloween memories. Mike
in Oregon reminisced about a woman who would dress as a witch while her
husband read scary stories for visitors to their home. One year, Mike
and his friends stopped at the house and heard the tale of the headless
horseman. As they were wrapping up their trick or treating that night,
the group suddenly heard hoofbeats that sounded like they were coming
towards them. Certain that they were about to become victims of the
famed phantasm, Mike and his friends ran away in terror. Virginia in
Florida recounted her childhood experience celebrating Halloween while
living at a Hawaiian naval base. Since there were only a few children
living there, she laughed, adults in the housing area didn't distribute
candy and, instead, gave all the kids money.
Later in the
evening, Allie in Indiana shared a ghost story with the Coast listeners.
She detailed how her friend was forced to move out of her trailer
because "weird stuff kept happening there" such as break-ins at the
location. One night, in an effort to catch these ne'er-do-wells, Allie
and her friend decided to stake out the location from her car. As they
were waiting and watching the property, she suddenly felt like someone
was behind her, so she looked in the rearview mirror and spotted a man
sitting directly behind her friend. Despite being terrified, Allie
forced herself to look in the backseat and saw that no one was there.
Upon coming to that realization, she insisted that they leave as soon as
possible and sped away from the area. When she subsequently explained
to her friend what had happened, Allie learned that the 'person' she saw
matched perfectly with the woman's husband ... who had died a year
earlier.

In the first half, cyber technology expert Charles R. Smith
discussed some of the alarming trends of cyber warfare and attacks, and
how the US is ill-equipped to do battle with criminals, terrorists and
malevolent governments bent on destruction. Various groups like ISIS and
the Russian mafia are trying to create their own cadre of hackers to
breach into systems. Part of the problem is that the US government and
intelligence agencies may intentionally reduce people's security so that
they can retain the ability to monitor people's communications. Simple
encryption programs or keys can increase the security level of
individuals and companies' communications and data storage.
Disturbingly,
it's been demonstrated that computer systems of some electric cars and
hybrids can be hacked into-- with the steering, braking, and
acceleration taken over remotely, "and the movement towards driverless
vehicles makes it even easier for someone to get in," he cautioned. It's
also quite possible that we may see hacking involved in aerospace. One
hacker demonstrated that he was able to use the internal wireless
network of an airliner and access cockpit control functions, he
reported. Power grid systems and facilities are also vulnerable-- the US
itself, employed the Stuxnet virus to damage Iran's nuclear facility
for enriching uranium, Smith cited, adding that this kind of attack

In
the latter half, paranormal communicator and ghost tour guide Chris
Bores talked about his investigations which he says take ghost hunting
to a deeper level through his interactions with spirits. He approaches
his communications by combining elements of psychology, and concepts
from the Tibetan Book of the Dead, and the Egyptian Book of the Dead,
posing yes or no questions to spirits at haunted locations and
evaluating spikes and changes in specialized equipment and meters to
determine their responses. Bores has concluded there are different types
of spirits who haven't moved on-- those with unfinished business, and
others who are confused about their state, and don't really understand
they're dead.
He described his investigation of the haunted St.
Augustine Lighthouse, and their interactions with a spirit girl named
Eliza, who indicated there are rules to the afterlife, and certain
things they aren't supposed to reveal to the living. Bores suggested
that the 'Hungry Ghost' realm as presented in the Tibetan Book of the
Dead connects with what he's seen in many spirits, who seem to still
crave earthly experiences. For instance, the spirit called Jackie on the
haunted Queen Mary is said to be drawn to the attention of
ghosthunters, and their frequent visits to the ship are probably not
helping her move on, he surmised.
