The US govt spends 10% GDP more than it receives in revenue. The US govt spending is counted as part of the GDP. Therefore, the so-called 2% GDP growth is actually -8% GDP decline. The govt and the FED are papering over the truth about the economy. All currencies worldwide are based on the US dollar. Therefore, all currencies will collapse simultaneously. The initial signs will be unexpected spikes in interest rates, bank failures, and legislation to protect (confiscate) retirement accounts.

Lenders pushed minimum wage earners into 200k homes just to make a sale. The mortgages were sold to investment banks, bundled into CDOs, and sold to investors with investment grade ratings by Moody's and S&P. When the homeowners could not make the payments, it set off the chain of events that led to the collapse of the housing market. The next bubble could possibly have us seeing interest rates higher than those during the Carter administration. It will get ugly in a hurry. .

Everyone is forgetting that the paper was the promise to pay the metal. The coins in circulation at the time were all made of 90% silver (I live in Germany). So, of course people who are known as being thrifty and big time savers would pick the metal (they knew) over the paper promise that was losing value daily. Today people don't even question what their coins are made of or why they are made to look like silver but are plated with nickel. Two different worlds and concepts.

In the event of a Dollar collapse, it will not be replaced by new paper currency. The era of paper money is over. It will be replaced by digital currency entered into your personalized debit card.
It will be managed by private banks. Every transaction you make will be tracked. The government can do your taxes. They turn you off or on and can approximate your location. Banks will take a percent on both sides of each and every transaction.

Fiat coins will disappear as will the coin slots on machines. What remaining cash will be regarded as criminal enterprise. There is nothing to love about digital money. Once integrated into this system, you can't get in or get out. It will represent a complete loss of freedom.The Germans who had GOLD were safe from the inflation then cashed into the new currency. Collapse, directed by Chris Smith, is an American documentary film exploring the theories, writings and life story of controversial author Michael Ruppert. Collapse premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2009 to positive reviews.

Ruppert, a former Los Angeles police officer who describes himself as an investigative reporter and radical thinker, has authored books on the events of the September 11 attacks and of energy issues. Critics[who?] call him a conspiracy theorist and an alarmist.
Director Smith interviewed Ruppert over the course of fourteen hours in an interrogation-like setting in an abandoned warehouse basement meat locker near downtown Los Angeles. Ruppert's interview was shot over five days throughout March and April 2009. The filmmakers distilled these interviews down to this 82 minute monologue with archival footage interspersed as illustration.
The title refers to Ruppert's belief that unsustainable energy and financial policies have led to an ongoing collapse of modern industrial civilization.
The film does not overtly take a perspective on the validity of Ruppert's positions[citation needed] and critics have alternatingly described the film as supportive and as critical of Ruppert's views. Smith himself, speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere, said that "What I hoped to reveal was ... that his obsession with the collapse of industrial civilization has led to the collapse of his life. In the end, it is a character study about his obsession."[1]
