Coast To Coast AM - September 9, 2015 World Instability & Singularity Archetype

In the first half, author and adventurer Robert Young Pelton, who has traveled the globe working with private military contractors, discussed the instability in the Middle East, the refugee crisis in Europe, globalization of borders, and the continuous wars going on all over the world. Currently stationed in Italy, near the Slovenia border, Pelton is working with Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS), a ship that rescues people at risk of drowning in the Mediterranean. More migrants are coming to Europe because of the globalization of the Internet, and being able to communicate and see what is happening elsewhere, he noted.

In Syria, there's been a stalemate with the country's civil war, and nine million people have been ousted from their homes, and living in camps in places like Lebanon and Turkey. Many of these Syrians are among the thousands of migrants recently coming to Europe, he reported. Pelton talked about the propaganda techniques of ISIS, and their gory beheading videos-- these may eventually be banned from online viewing, and considered acts of terror, he remarked. A lot of wars without end or resolution continue in places like Afghanistan. "War is actually one of the few things that keeps truly American industries going," such as aerospace, yet this contributes to the negative cycle of never-ending wars, he lamented.

In the latter half, paranormal researcher and philosopher Jonathan Zap spoke about the Singularity Archetype, and how it relates to such phenomena as telepathy, UFOs, and near death experiences. First writing of the singularity in 1978, he connected it to Jungian archetypes, and views it less in a technological sense (such as Ray Kurzweil has postulated in recent years), and more as a primordial form in the collective psyche. "The Singularity Archetype could be thought of as a portal of transformation," standing between two great parallel event horizons-- an individual's lifespan, and human eschatology, the end of our species, he explained.

Telepathic abilities were part of humanity's past and their reemergence, such as in mutual dreaming and ayahuasca rituals, is part of the coming singularity, he suggested. However, when the Singularity Archetype pathologizes it turns into "apocalypticism" (the idea that the end of the world is coming in our lifetime) as a way to displace our fears about death, he continued. Zap also touched on synchronicities (a concept first cited by Jung), which is when two things or events seem to have an uncanny parallel, without any cause and effect. He hypothesized that short term clairvoyance or precognition might be a factor in some of these cases.

 Dr. Bill Miller, a physician in academic and private practice for over 30 years, combines his unique observations about patterns of disease from medicine with current scientific discoveries in many other fields. In the first half, he discussed how the self is composed of a vast interdependent network of cells and microbial ecologies. "Our actual narrative is the unseen world," and the cells that make up an individual are outnumbered 10-to-1 by "microbial life that lives in us, on us, with us-- so much a part of us that we almost live in an illusion of being a singularity, but we really are a vast constellation of life all put together so seamlessly that it fools us into thinking we are just by ourselves," he revealed.

There may be around 100 trillion microbes in the human gut and they are absolutely essential for our well-being-- without them the immune and metabolic systems would break down, he reported. While trying to shield themselves and their children from dirt and disease, people may be inadvertently causing an imbalance in their exposure to microbial companions that are needed for optimal health, he explained (more in this blog post). Dr. Miller also commented on vaccines, calling them one of the greatest advances in human history, saving hundreds of millions of people from the scourge of deadly pathogens. While they do have some risk, their overall advantages far outweigh any hazards, he asserted.

In the latter half, space historian and C2C Science Advisor Robert Zimmerman provided updates on various space missions and news, as well as technological developments. The New Horizons probe has a new target after Pluto, he announced, a small Kuiper Belt object (KBO) known as 2014 MU69 that orbits almost a billion miles past Pluto. Regarding recent photos of the Martian surface in which people say they see various anomalous objects such as spaceships, he believes this is wishful thinking on their parts. The Red Planet is actually a very barren place that at most has struggling microbial life, he remarked.

In recent space news, the first Danish astronaut along with two other astronauts has just launched on a Soyuz spacecraft for a mission on the International Space Station, while a Japanese supply craft is transporting various whiskey samples to the ISS, to test how the alcohol ages in a weightless environment. Zimmerman also spoke about NASA's planned reconnaissance mission in the 2020s to investigate Jupiter's moon Europa, which has a mysterious red material that seeps out on its surface.

Coast To Coast AM - August 27, 2015 ET Hybrids, Crop Circles, & Mini-Ice Age

 Earthfiles investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe discussed the bizarre story of the alleged human-alien hybrid found dead in Los Angeles and said to be involved with the CIA; mysterious and spectacular crop formations found in the wheat fields of Wiltshire, England on the summer solstice this past June, and the breaking story about the sun going to sleep in 2030 and ushering in a brutal mini-ice age across the planet.

During her first two segments, Linda reported on the strange and complex death of Jeffrey Alan Lush, sharing an interview with Laura VanBunker, the adoptive mother of a woman who worked with his fiancé and was certain that the pair were ET hybrids. According to VanBunker, the couple would openly discuss their alien heritage as well as the different types of alien entities that exist and also claimed that a widespread government change would be taking place in eight years. Lush, she was told, was a reptilian alien that had been working with the government in anticipation of these changes. Following his suspicious death, VanBunker's adopted daughter subsequently journeyed to Oregon and ceased communicating with her family except for one letter in which she lamented Lash's passing and stated that she needed "time to heal myself." Next, Linda spoke with crop circle investigator Charles Mallett, who detailed an intriguing incident which occurred at the site of a formation that had emerged in England on June 21st. He explained that a pair of tourists attempted to visit the location to view the formation, but had arrived there shortly after the famer had harvested the crop, so it was no longer visible. However, Mallett said, they spotted a tornado formation which burst from the center of the former crop circle and rose nearly 80 feet in the air. A second, smaller tornado then grew out of the ground near the feet of one of the witnesses. When she attempted to get closer to the vortex, an invisible energy barrier seemingly stopped her progress until the tornados disappeared. During the conversation, Mallett also discussed government monitoring of crop circle formations and what they might be trying to learn. Further info.

In her final report, Linda shed new light on the prediction of UK scientists that a mini-ice age would occur on Earth in the 2030's due to weakening solar activity. In response to that hypothesis, solar physicist David Hathaway declared that "I don't believe it for a minute," citing a faulty mathematical function which used past information in an attempt to predict the future. "I've seen enough about the sun to know that the sun is not that predictable," he chuckled, "in particular, going 20 years into the future." He speculated that the mini-ice age claims received a lot of media attention because they are "outlandish" and journalists misinterpreted the findings in order to generate news. Hathaway stressed that although the cyclical nature of the sun's brightness remains mysterious, its effect on the temperature of Earth is extremely minimal.
Virginia Shooting

In the first hour, political commentator and economist John Lott reacted to the shooting of two reporters in Virginia on Wednesday and the ramifications the event may have on gun laws. Although mass shootings often spur calls for greater gun control, Lott argued that the regulation of firearms simply makes it more difficult for law abiding citizens to be able to arm themselves while criminals will not adhere to such restrictions. Additionally, he pointed to a number of instances where mass shooters specifically targeted locations where guns were likely to not be present rather than places like airports that have strong security in place. Regarding the need for greater mental health screening to prevent these shootings, he contended that a little over fifty percent of the mass public shooters were seeing a psychologist or psychiatrist prior to their attack. Therefore, he suggested that predicting that someone may turn violent is a challenge even for mental health professionals.

 In the first half, aerospace and defense systems developer Sir Charles Shults discussed the rapid advances in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) and why some people fear they will dominate the available jobs for humans, as well as eventually gain an upper hand over humans. "If you build a machine that's smart enough to clean up after you, maybe it'll realize it doesn't want to do those jobs just as you don't," he remarked, adding that the question becomes, can we throttle back the self-interest of the machine in its design? And, "if you have a machine that's perhaps smarter than a human being, how do you know whose interests it's acting in?"

We are so close to opening a Pandora's Box, with an explosion of AI coming our way in the next decade or so, Shults commented. It actually won't be that difficult to produce emotions in the machines, and there's going to be many different types of AI, and "we're not going to know which ones are potentially dangerous and which ones are very beneficial to us until we actually see them in practice," he stated. Because of this, Shults suggested "sandbox systems" or virtual worlds where the AI can be tested before being released into the real world. Further, he continued, everyone who works on artificial intelligence should have to take a course on morality, and unintended consequences, in order to think through how these machines will interact with humanity.

In the latter half, UFO investigator and contactee Diane Tessman spoke about her encounters with aliens that began when she was a child in the 1950s, various paranormal experiences, and theories about the aliens' origins and agendas. While her early alien encounters were benign, she believes they removed a membrane from underneath her upper lip, as she suddenly no longer had it, though she suffered no pain or discomfort. During these encounters, she met a human-like alien she calls Tibus, who has remained with her throughout her life as a kind of spirit guide and shared consciousness.

Tessman recounted some of the odd paranormal events surrounding the Skyway Bridge collapse in Tampa Bay in May of 1980, including the sighting of giant orbs in the sky, a Mothman-like creature, and unexplained beeping sounds in her home (near Tampa Bay). She listed a number of possibilities for the origin of the UFO occupants, which included: computer simulation-- with the aliens similar to avatars sent in to investigate dark plasma halo-- a kind of biosphere that stems from dark matter, which is invisible to us a manifestation of the collective subconscious humans from the future

In the first hour, futurist Paul Guercio and physicist Dr. George Hart, who developed a software-based forecasting technology called the Merlin Project, shared their interpretations of the timetraks (Merlin's graphical snapshots) of the current batch of presidential hopefuls. On the Democratic side, Hillary seems to be struggling, and Bernie Sanders, "actually has the best timetrak of all the declared candidates, Republican and Democratic," said Guercio. In contrast to previous election cycles, Trump appears to be a serious candidate, but will likely be a third party candidate, Guercio continued, while Hart compared his popularity to the character of Howard Beale in the movie Network. Among the other Republicans, according to their timetraks, Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, and Marco Rubio (as a possible VP), appear to have the best chances, Guercio added.

In the second hour, numerologist Glynis McCants offered updates on what she sees in the year ahead, and how the presidential candidates are shaping up. There's been talk that this September will be a month in which possible crises will hit, and McCants concurred, noting that 9/23 is a "double five" energy day that adds up to a "4." This represents a kind of duality in which there could be drama, chaos, and the unexpected, she cautioned. Trump, who is in a personal cycle of "1," has fascinated the public with his opinionated remarks, but will likely not be the Republican candidate, she said, adding that if Jeb Bush remains in the race, next year he's in a "4" cycle, which would match his lifepath number and place him in a strong position.

In the latter half, prophecy and Nostradamus expert John Hogue discussed the final warning prophecies of the Hopi Indians, the biblical prophecies about four blood moons (four lunar eclipses in a row), as well as his take on the presidential race. On September 28, when the last Blood Moon appears, we may see the first flutter of a major economic crisis that is coming in 2016 but it will not be as some Christian theologians, such as John Hagee, promote as the beginning of the End of Days, Hogue asserted. He cited the September congressional vote on the Iran nuclear deal as particularly momentous, and suggested that if it's not ratified, foreign countries could turn against the US, and the dollar will be dropped as the international reserve currency.

The Hopi prophecies describe a cataclysmic end of the old world, and the arising of a new one, which parallels Hogue's view that the world is divided into two groups. The majority, who deal with the world's pressing problems with their conditioned responses of the past, and the minority, who are ready to embrace change and step into the unknown. Regarding the 2016 candidates, he still sees a Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush face-off, as he believes these two are the final choices of the powerful, monied interests.

In the first half, author and investment advisor Catherine Austin Fitts provided an update on the current state of the economy in terms of the surging stock market, debt, and commodities. People should plan for different financial scenarios as well as natural disasters so they can navigate those situations if they arise, she suggested. Many different parts of the economy are being collapsed or "composted," which in turn props up or feeds other sectors, she explained. One of the biggest problems on the planet right now is the significant debt load, with the developed world becoming as highly leveraged as many of the western countries, Fitts remarked.

Janet Yellin, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, says she's raising interest rates in the fall. This will bring up the cost of the dollar, just as commodities earnings are plunging, and the United States is going to "jerk the leash all around the world," increasing the gap between who can afford the rates, and those who can't, Fitts cautioned. Unfortunately, the assault on the middle class is not over-- we have more automation and globalization coming, she continued, but those who are inventive, adaptive, and versatile with new technology can manage to do well.

Quayle asserted that this pre-positioning of military and materials across the US is in anticipation of a "triggered financial event," in which the dollar crashes or credit cards won't work and people begin rioting. Steve believes there's a cover-up of the approach of a Planet X-type body into our orbital plane, and according to one of his sources that by late spring of 2016, every volcano will erupt, and there'll be global pandemonium. His source further suggested that Jade Helm could be a population reduction plan in advance of the Planet X situation, in which resources will be limited.  In the first half, tax change advocate Bill Spillane discussed the 'FairTax' alternative-- a flat retail tax that would replace income and payroll taxes, along with a rebate for those who can't afford it. The current US income tax code is "a giant anchor on our ship, and we're trying to drag that anchor down the waterway and it's slowing us down and causing us all kinds of trouble," such as sending jobs overseas, and making locally made products more expensive, he remarked. The FairTax is not merely a reform-- it's an actual replacement for all forms of federal income taxes, including estate taxes, capital gains, alternative minimum, self-employment etc., he explained.

People will have more money in their pockets and can decide how they would like spend it. According to the plan, everyone will pay the same flat tax rate at the cash register-- 23%. Legal residents will be eligible for a "prebate"-- a rebate on taxes based on the size of their family, which makes the tax progressive, he explained, adding that the amount of tax a person pays will depend on how much they spend buying items. One benefit of FairTax is that it will create enormous job opportunities in the US, as new business investment comes flooding in, he said. Spillane suggested that people contact their local political representatives to push for the H.R. 25 FairTax Act (Congress, currently has 67 Representatives as co-sponsors) and the S. 155 FairTax Act (Senate, currently has 6 Senators co-sponsoring).

In the latter half, astronomy professor Chris Impey detailed the latest news in space exploration. As the environment on Earth changes, space travel could be essential to the survival and evolution of mankind, he believes. The privatization model for space exploration has become more predominant, he said, because private companies can move more nimbly than governments, and by having a profit motive, they strive to keep costs down and be more innovative. The Mars One project, which aims to place colonists on the Red Planet is still in play, though they've pushed back the launch date to the mid 2020s, and there is some skepticism that they can technically achieve their goals, Impey noted.

One of the space technologies he finds exciting is solar sails, which coupled with miniaturization techniques, could harness the sun's energy to move through the solar system. Developing a space elevator could greatly reduce costs of missions in our solar system, he added. One of the most compelling targets for further exploration is Saturn's moon Titan, which has liquid methane oceans, said Impey. If it has life, it would be based on a different kind of biology than what is found on Earth.

Filling in for George Noory, Dave Schrader (email) welcomed co-authors Frank Marra and Maria Bellia Abbate for a discussion on From Landfill to Hallowed Ground: The Largest Crime Scene in America. Their book details Marra's experiences at the Staten Island landfill, where debris from the World Trade Center site was taken after the September 11 attacks. Regarding the book's title, Marra explained that among the 1.6 million tons of debris where the ashes and DNA from more than 1200 people and their unidentified remains turned a once common landfill into hallowed ground. The two discussed 9/11 and its aftermath, as well as Marra's sighting of a ghostly lady at the landfill.

Marra, who was an NYPD police sergeant during the tragic events, recounted how he felt when he arrived at Ground Zero. "The best part of New York City was lying on its side," he said. "Everybody always talks about the day... but nobody talks about all that went into making our city somewhat normal again those days and months after," Abbate added. Marra commented on the incredible efforts of all the first responders and how many of them now endure sicknesses caused by toxic air from the World Trade Center destruction. Work at the landfill was difficult with only rakes and shovels—if you came across a body part it was placed in a bucket and taken to a temporary crime scene tent, he recalled. "I can't believe what these men did on a day-to-day," Abbate said, noting that some who worked at the landfill suffer with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Marra described his encounter at the landfill with a ghostly lady who appears as an African American Red Cross aid worker serving sandwiches or coffee. "I see this woman, I see her walking with the tray dressed in an old fashioned nurses uniform... I go close my car door and I happen to look back and she was gone," he remembered. Several other crime scene investigators who worked at the landfill have also reported seeing the same apparition, as well as black shadows in the vicinity of the parked workers' cars, Marra noted. According to a psychic medium with whom Marra spoke, the ghost nurse might have been a soul collector who was guiding departed spirits to the afterlife. "I believe what we saw was something spiritual," he said.

 In the first half, Katherine Albrecht, a consumer privacy expert and VP of Start Page, the world's most private search engine, discussed the breakneck speed that tracking technology is evolving and how the prospect of chip implants in humans looms in the future unless a movement of resistance is realized. At a new high-tech office complex in Sweden, tenants are consenting to get an RFID chip implanted under their skin in order to gain entry and use services. Albrecht believes that such technology, in which the flesh is pierced, is akin to what the Bible warned about 2,000 years ago-- the mark of the beast.

A few years back, companies like Blue Cross were using chipping for medical patients. Albrecht and her organization were influential in putting a stop to such medical practices by showing that implanted chips can cause cancer. There is also evidence demonstrating that pets can get tumors associated with being chipped. However, if your pet is already chipped, she advised not having it removed unless you can feel a nodule or hard area around where the chip was implanted. Albrecht also spoke out against the encroachment upon privacy by companies such as Google, which she suggested is not a search engine but a "market research company" that tricks people into revealing information about themselves. She recommended StartMail (an offshoot of StartPage), an alternative, private email service that she's involved in, which recently won an Editor's Choice award from PC Magazine for being the easiest-to-use encryption email program.

In the latter half, child psychiatrist Dr. Jim Tucker, who directs research into children's accounts of past-life memories at the University of Virginia, Division of Personality Studies, reported on his latest work focusing primarily on cases in the United States. We have good evidence that some children do have knowledge of events from the past, he said, and the simplest explanation is that this knowledge comes from memories of their own past life, which somehow they were able to retain. Interestingly, the average age when the child's recall occurs is between two and three years-old, and it typically fades out by the time they're 6 to 7, he cited.

Among the cases he detailed, were Ryan - a boy who believes that he was once a powerful Hollywood agent, and a young golfing prodigy named Hunter who at the age of two declared he was the famous golfer of the 1930's, Bobby Jones, after seeing him on the Golfing Channel. He was also able to identify another golfer that he knew in the 1930s. The boy, now nine, has won over 100 golfing tournaments, Tucker stated. The case is unusual in that Jones had been dead over 50 years. Typically, recalled lives are more recent, with the deceased person having only been gone from two to four years, he noted. Additionally, most recalled lives are of ordinary rather than famous people, Tucker pointed out.

 In the first half, biomedical research pioneer Dr. Joel Wallach spoke about the human body's innate ability to heal itself through natural means and supplementation. Our current health care system does not encourage people to take care of themselves, and Big Pharma seeks to treat people over long periods of time, as they wouldn't make as much money curing people of their ailments in a matter of months, he commented. For thousands of years, humans unknowingly supplemented their diet with minerals by putting wood ashes in their gardens, but with the advent of electricity, people stopped burning wood, and encountered more health problems from mineral deficiencies, he said.

The top 20 cultures for longevity around the world all have rare earth (trace minerals) in their soil, he reported. Vegans, he noted, need to supplement their diet with extra nutrients, unless they're living in an environment that is very high in minerals. Wallach argued that cholesterol is an essential nutrient, and not actually the source of problems. But the statin drugs that are prescribed to millions cause a variety of diseases and disorders including Alzheimer's and hormonal imbalances, he remarked. In the second half, author James Barrat talked about the quickly approaching time when we will share our planet with intelligent machines, and addressed how corporations and government agencies are pouring billions into AI, and the possible dangers that may come with this technology. Artificial neural networks based on the way the human mind works have dramatically increased the power of AI software in the last year, and big players like Google, Facebook, and Twitter are acquiring AI companies, with plans to harness the technology for business purposes, he detailed.

While inventor Ray Kurzweil and roboticist Rodney Brooks told Barrat they're optimistic about the coming of AI-- they believe it's not an alien invasion but machines we create ourselves, sci-fi legend Arthur C. Clarke's comment that "intelligence will win out in whatever form," planted a seed of doubt in Barrat's mind. As all electronic products become "cognitized" in a smart grid, users will have incredible conveniences, yet they will also become more vulnerable and dependent, he cautioned. While Kurzweil believes we can create all the nuances of the human brain in a machine, Barrat expressed concern, and suggested that we shouldn't anthropomorphise robots-- they are machines who do not think like us, and may have their own goals and agendas as their intelligence expands.

In the first half, Dave Schrader (email) welcomed author and UFO researcher, Bill Birnes, who discussed a wide range of UFO topics from the highly anticipated May 5 press conference in Mexico, to the disclosure comment made by former Obama advisor John Podesta. Birnes also addressed Pres. Obama's recent comments on the Jimmy Kimmel show about UFOs. A number of presidents have brought up the topic, such as Ronald Reagan talking about seeing an unexplained craft when he was flying in a plane over the Mojave Desert, and Pres. Carter filing a formal UFO sighting report when he was governor of Georgia. Though Obama approached the topic humorously, what he conveyed-- that he was not allowed to reveal anything on the subject, rang true, Birnes stated.

Podesta has been an adamant supporter for open government, and believes the govt. keeps too many secrets, especially regarding UFO files, said Birnes, who added that if Hillary Clinton becomes president, Podesta may try to influence her toward disclosure. Regarding the so-called 'Roswell Slides' which are said to depict aliens and will be revealed in May, Birnes was somewhat skeptical. The slide that's been leaked shows an alien that appears somewhat insectoid in appearance, which doesn't match the more human description of witnesses of the Roswell aliens, he noted.

In the latter half, journalist and UFO researcher, Nigel Watson, spoke about UFO rumors and scares of World War I. Many of the incidents involved pilots seeing unexplained artificial lights in the skies, which they tried to follow. But one of the more sensational cases involved claims about the 'Red Baron,' who was flying on a mission over Belgium in 1917, when he encountered a saucer-shaped craft about 130 ft. in diameter, with undulating orange lights. Supposedly, the Red Baron shot down the craft and two people escaped on the ground-- though Watson felt the veracity of this account, which emerged in 1999, was somewhat questionable.

One interesting incident took place in Turkey in 1915, when several hundred British troops were said to go up to the top of a hill, when a large cloud came over the hill. When the cloud went away, the soldiers had disappeared. He also touched on the British airship scare of 1909, in which a tube-shaped object was seen on the ground that left a 54 ft. long gouge, and a "cigar-shaped boat" was observed in the sky.
