ORWELLIAN NIGHTMARE -- APPLE Installed SECRET "Minority Report" TRACKING TECHNOLOGY in all iPhones Since iPhone 4
Dipaola's company, inMarket, will today begin turning on a network of sensors in dozens of grocery stores in Cleveland, Seattle, and San Francisco that will allow companies to beam advertisements to people's smartphones at the exact moment they're standing in aisle six trying to decide which brand of beans to buy.
This scenario has been the dream of retailers and advertisers for years, but it's become more plausible in recent months because of an update to Apple's (AAPL) mobile technology. Many observers see the feature, called iBeacon, as the most important part of iOS7, even though more attention was paid to the radical design changes. The technology allows Apple to pinpoint the location of a smartphone user within a few feet by bouncing signals off of inexpensive sensors constantly on the lookout. Because the technology uses Bluetooth Low Energy to send and receive signals, it can do so in confined spaces like stores without draining phone batteries.
Story: Apple's Location-Tracking iBeacon Is Poised for Use in Retail Sales
For developers and retailers, the enthusiasm about iBeacon is based on targeted advertising; we're talking about Silicon Valley, after all. "The more data you have about the customer, the more you can upsell them," explains Hari Gottipati, an independent tech consultant in Phoenix.
Apps such as Google Maps and FourSquare have long used location data to try to improve the average person's mobile experience. But that could be just the tip of the location iceberg as Bluetooth's latest technology revolutionizes how people interact with everyday objects and places.
With iOS 7, Apple unveiled iBeacon, a feature that uses Bluetooth 4.0, a location based technology. This makes it possible for sensors to detect — within inches — how close a phone is. This is opening the door for groundbreaking services that could enhance the average person's life.
"This might be the next big technology,"said Radius Networks chief executive Marc Wallace. "I think there's a huge opportunity for developers to run with this and develop cool applications." In one early implementation, Radius Networks teamed with the Consumer Electronics Association to launch an iBeacon-powered scavenger hunt at CES this week.
"From an opportunity perspective, I'd say everything is in place, and this thing is poised to be huge. The real question is over the next year there's going to be a lot of experimentation, learning, etc.," said Rob Murphy, vice president of marketing at Swirl, which is working with retailers to capitalize on the potential of iBeacons. "There will be a bunch more success stories. I think there will be some failures along the way."
Although it was only recently introduced as part of the iOS 7 mobile operating system upgrade, Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iBeacon micro-location technology is being increasingly used by various retailers and other businesses. Apple's iBeacon technology uses the Bluetooth Low Energy communications standard to send notifications to mobile devices based on their proximity to a transmitter. The system is ideal for indoor tracking and can pinpoint a user's location far more accurately than GPS can.
Last month, Apple revealed that it has started using its iBeacon micro-location technology at all of its 254 U.S. stores. Macy's (NYSE:M) has also installed "ShopBeacons" that use Apple's iBeacon technology in several of its retail locations, while Major League Baseball is exploring the use of an iBeacon-based navigation system for its stadiums.

Guests: Brad Steiger, William J. Birnes
In the first half of the program, George Knapp welcomed legendary paranormal writer, Brad Steiger, who reflected on his prodigious career researching the unexplained and shared his thoughts on what may be behind encounters with otherworldly beings. Based on his experience looking at a vast array of paranormal phenomena, he surmised that "some external intelligence has been consistently trying to make contact with us or to teach us." To that end, he recalled being surprised to notice, when first speaking with UFO contactees in the 1960's, that the messages allegedly imparted to them by ETs were "essentially the same thing I was hearing in spiritual séances." Furthermore, he pointed out that the seemingly silly names used by these entities can be found appearing again and again in recorded history under similar circumstances of 'contact.'
Ultimately, Steiger observed that paranormal phenomena has a way of fundamentally altering the lives of those who experience it and that may be part of a larger agenda aimed at "forever expanding" humankind's concept of reality. Acknowledging the nebulous nature and varied forms this "collective intelligence" appears to take when it interacts with humans, Steiger opted for the moniker of 'The Other' for whatever is driving the phenomena. However, he also theorized that the witnesses or experiencers, themselves, play a key role in how a paranormal event unfolds by unconsciously selecting the form it takes. Over the course of his appearance, Steiger also shared the story of his near-death experience at the age of 11, as well as recollections from when the MIB phenomenon first burst upon the paranormal landscape.
The bitcoins had belonged to Silk Road, an anonymous online black market that authorities say was a conduit for purchases of drugs and computer hacking services -- even a place where assassins may have advertised. It was shuttered after an FBI raid in September, when agents took control of its server and arrested the man they say was its founder in San Francisco.
A spokeswoman for Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney for New York's Southern District, said Friday that the government is still trying to decide what to do with the forfeited bitcoins. The timing of any sale could make a big difference in the amount the government could realize.
The baffling Bitcoin boom is either an exercise in self-delusion — a high-tech Ponzi scheme that will come crashing down — or an imaginative new Internet technology that could change how millions of people around the world conduct everyday business. There is little middle ground.
Called a "digital currency," Bitcoin originated in early 2009 with a software program written by Satoshi Nakamoto. Who is Nakamoto? Good question. It's a pseudonym, and we don't know who's behind it — whether man or woman; individual or group; American, Japanese, Russian or some other nationality. But what seems clear is that Nakamoto owns bitcoins worth "hundreds of millions of dollars," says Jerry Brito, an analyst at the Mercatus Center of George Mason University and a Bitcoin enthusiast.
You can do two things with bitcoins: buy stuff, just as with traditional money; and hold them as an investment or speculation, hoping their price will rise.
Some shopping does occur with bitcoins. The first retail transaction is usually attributed to Laszlo Hanyecz, a computer programmer in Florida, who in May 2010 persuaded someone to order two pizzas for him in exchange for 10,000 bitcoins. Recently, Overstock.com — an online retailer — agreed to accept bitcoins; the Sacramento Kings basketball team will do likewise. According to coinmap.org, about 2,600 stores and businesses worldwide accept bitcoins, with concentrations in Western Europe, California and New York.
Bitcoin's wild price fluctuations seem disqualifying on all counts. A business that accepts bitcoins takes an immediate risk that the funds will lose 5 percent or 10 percent of their worth before they can be converted into traditional money (dollars, euros, yen). By this logic, retail uses will remain limited. For similar reasons, bitcoins flunk as a store of value and unit of account.
It seems like a scene out of a late night infomercial. A man steps out of a fancy car, or off of a big expensive yacht, and starts his sales speech. "Make thousands, tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands of dollars all from the comfort of your own home. How?! By mining for bitcoin!" Dropping into everyone's lexicon late last year, bitcoin boomed in 2013, going from $13 to $900 on a roller coaster of a ride. Other cryptocurrencies called alt coins, like litecoin and peercoin, gained exposure through bitcoin's fame. Mining these coins can provide a significant income to anyone willing to spend the time and money. Here are five steps to take to start a cryptocurrency mining career.

"Considering the definition of an official currency as set out in law, it's not that. It's also not a payment instrument, because the law stipulates that a payment instrument must have an issuer responsible for its operation," Paeivi Heikkinen, head of oversight at the Bank of Finland in Helsinki, said in a Jan. 16 phone interview. "At this stage it's more comparable to a commodity."
Finland is the latest country to try to come to grips with the advent of virtual currencies that aren't controlled by any central bank or government. As regulators in Europe warn of the risks associated with using such software as a substitute for real money, authorities are struggling to design frameworks to protect consumers and businesses from potential losses they have no legal means of recouping.
Globally, Bitcoin has had a mixed reception, with China's central bank banning lenders from handling the virtual money. The U.S. Internal Revenue Service hasn't offered guidance on Bitcoin beyond saying it's working on the issue and that it has been monitoring digital currencies and transactions since 2007. Meanwhile, Texas Senate candidate Steve Stockman is accepting Bitcoin campaign donations.
Britain is reviewing the tax treatment of Bitcoin, a virtual currency that governments fear can be used for tax evasion and money laundering.
HM Revenue and Customs has advised traders that it is looking at alternatives to the current 20 per cent value added tax on purchases of the coin, which is regarded as a voucher rather than a currency. Traders complained that the VAT made their businesses globally uncompetitive and was forcing them to look at moving to more favourable jurisdictions.
The review comes as tax authorities around the world seek to capture revenues from Bitcoin and minimise risks of tax avoidance and evasion. The value of the world's stock of Bitcoin has risen from $150m to $10bn over the past year, adding urgency to regulators' efforts to clarify its status.
The nearly boozy Bitcoin rallies and crashes of 2013 led to endless media coverage, rising mass market knowledge of its existence, and piece by piece, the growing maturity of its underlying network.
No asset that regularly loses or gains 50% in a day can be treated as anything more than a speculative tool, and an incredibly risky one at that. However, in the new year, as the media firestorm has mostly abated around Bitcoin and its network of buyers and sellers has continued to improve and expand, something interesting has happened: Bitcoin has found and stuck to a trading range. bitcoin litecoin "max keiser" "accept bitcoin"
Now, compared to more traditional currencies, Bitcoin still moves around too much for the good digestion of those close to it. At the same time, over the past nearly two weeks, it has shown remarkable flatness, meaning that those wishing to use and accept it for commerce have had a period in which they could trust their sales and purchases to not swing to wild profit or loss by whim of the market.
The stats are grim. Since the 1970s, the incomes of the bottom 90% have been stagnating while the income of the top 1% have soared. In fact, the average pre-tax income for the bottom 90 percent of households is almost $900 below what it was in 1979, and for the top one percent the average pre-tax income is over $700,000 above its 1979 level
Economic mobility is the ability of an individual, family or some other group to improve (or lower) their economic status—usually measured in income. Economic mobility is often measured by movement between income quintiles. Economic mobility may be considered a type of social mobility, which is often measured in change in income.
Socio-economic mobility in the United States refers to the movement of Americans from one social class or economic level to another, often by changing jobs or marrying. This "vertical" mobility can be the change in socioeconomic status between parents and children ("inter-generational"); or over the course of a lifetime ("intra-generational"). It typically refers to "relative mobility" — the chance that an American's income/status will rise or fall compared to others in another income/status group—but can also be "absolute"—whether (and by how much) living standards in America have increased.
Belief in strong social and economic mobility—that Americans can and do rise from humble origins to riches—has been called a "civil religion", "the bedrock upon which the American story has been anchored", and part of the American identity (the American Dream), celebrated in the lives of famous Americans such as Benjamin Franklin and Henry Ford, and in popular culture (from the books of Horatio Alger and Norman Vincent Peale to the song "Movin' on Up"). Opinion polls show that this belief has been both stronger in the US than in years past, and stronger than in other developed countries. However, in recent years several large studies have found that vertical inter-generational mobility is lower, not higher, in the US than in those countries.
The Brookings Institution said in 2013 that income inequality was increasing and becoming permanent, sharply reducing social mobility.
Income inequality in the United States has grown significantly since the early 1970s, after several decades of stability, and has been the subject of study of many scholars and institutions. While inequality has risen among most developed countries, and especially English-speaking ones, it is highest in the United States. Income inequality (as measured by the Gini coefficient) is not uniform among the states: after-tax income inequality in 2009 was greatest in Texas and lowest in Maine.
Most of the growth has been between the middle class and top earners, with the disparity becoming more extreme the further one goes up in the income distribution. A 2011 study by the CBO found that the top earning 1 percent of households increased their income by about 275% after federal taxes and income transfers over a period between 1979 and 2007, compared to a gain of just under 40% for the 60 percent in the middle of America's income distribution. Other sources find that the trend has continued since then. In spite of this data, only 42% of Americans think inequality has increased in the past ten years. In 2012, the gap between the richest 1 percent and the remaining 99 percent was the widest it's been since the 1920s. Incomes of the wealthiest 1 percent rose nearly 20 percent, whereas the income of the remaining 99 percent rose 1 percent in comparison.
Scholars and others differ as to the causes, solutions, and the significance of the trend, which in 2011 helped ignite the "Occupy" protest movement. Education and increased demand for skilled labor are often cited as causes, some have emphasized the importance of public policy; others believe the cause(s) of inequality's rise are not well understood. Inequality has been described both as irrelevant in the face of economic opportunity (or social mobility) in America, and as a cause of the decline in that opportunity.
Yale professor and economist Robert J. Shiller, who was among three Americans who won the Nobel prize for economics in 2013, believes that rising economic inequality in the United States and other countries is "the most important problem that we are facing now today." Pope Francis echoed this sentiment in his Evangelii Gaudium, stating that "as long as the problems of the poor are not radically resolved by rejecting the absolute autonomy of markets and financial speculation and by attacking the structural causes of inequality, no solution will be found for the world's problems or, for that matter, to any problems." President Barack Obama referred to the widening income gap as the "defining challenge of our time."
The Atlantic Council is considered to be a highly influential organization with close ties to major policy makers across the world. It's headed up by Gen. Brent Scowcroft, former United States National Security Advisor under U.S. Presidents Gerald Ford and George H. W. Bush. Snowcroft has also advised President Barack Obama.
Harlan K. Ullman was the principal author of the "shock and awe" doctrine and is now Chairman of the Killowen Group which advises government leaders.
In an article entitled War on Terror Is not the Only Threat, Ullman asserts that, "tectonic changes are reshaping the international geostrategic system," arguing that it's not military superpowers like China but "non-state actors" like Edward Snowden, Bradley Manning and anonymous hackers who pose the biggest threat to the "365 year-old Westphalian system" because they are encouraging individuals to become self-empowered, eviscerating state control.
"Very few have taken note and fewer have acted on this realization," notes Ullman, lamenting that "information revolution and instantaneous global communications" are thwarting the "new world order" announced by U.S. President George H.W. Bush more than two decades ago.
"Without an extraordinary crisis, little is likely to be done to reverse or limit the damage imposed by failed or failing governance," writes Ullman, implying that only another 9/11-style cataclysm will enable the state to re-assert its dominance while "containing, reducing and eliminating the dangers posed by newly empowered non-state actors."
Ullman concludes that the elimination of non-state actors and empowered individuals "must be done" in order to preserve the new world order. A summary of their material suggests that the Atlantic Council's definition of a "new world order" is a global technocracy run by a fusion of big government and big business under which individuality is replaced by transhumanist singularity.
Ullman's implied call for an "extraordinary crisis" to reinvigorate support for state power and big government has eerie shades of the Project For a New American Century's 1997 lament that "absent some catastrophic catalyzing event -- like a new Pearl Harbor," an expansion of U.S. militarism would have been impossible.

Ullman's concern over failing state institutions having their influence eroded by empowered individuals, primarily via the Internet, is yet another sign that the elite is panicking over the "global political awakening" that has most recently expressed itself via the actions of people like Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, Bradley Manning and their growing legion of supporters.
The common theme in conspiracy theories about a New World Order is that a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government—which replaces sovereign nation-states—and an all-encompassing propaganda that ideologizes its establishment as the culmination of history's progress. Significant occurrences in politics and finance are speculated to be orchestrated by an unduly influential cabal operating through many front organizations. Numerous historical and current events are seen as steps in an on-going plot to achieve world domination through secret political gatherings and decision-making processes.
Prior to the early 1990s, New World Order conspiracism was limited to two American countercultures, primarily the militantly anti-government right, and secondarily fundamentalist Christians concerned with end-time emergence of the Antichrist. Skeptics, such as Michael Barkun and Chip Berlet, have observed that right-wing populist conspiracy theories about a New World Order
The world's foremost remote viewing teacher, Edward A. Dames, Major, U.S. Army (ret.) is a decorated military intelligence officer and an original member of the U.S. Army prototype remote viewing training program. He served as the training and operations officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency's psychic intelligence (PSIINT) collection unit, and currently serves as executive director for the Matrix Intelligence Agency, a private consulting group. The technical consultant for the feature film, Suspect Zero, (a Tom Cruise-Paula Wagner production), Ed coached Sir Ben Kingsley, and played the role of an FBI remote viewing instructor in the movie, as well.
Remote viewing teacher Ed Dames returned to discuss the current cases his agency-- the Matrix Intelligence Agency-- is working on, as well as his forecast for the new year ahead. Living up to his nickname of "Dr. Doom," he foresees 2014 to be a dark time, when the mainstream media will no longer be able to cover-up the disastrous effects of Fukushima radiation which will begin to show up on the West Coast of North America. There are almost no sanctuaries in California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia as they will be hit by both airborne and marine radionuclide plume, "and they're going to continue to hit the coast for the next 100 years," unless there's some kind of intervention, possibly ET in nature, he indicated.
Dames and his group have an ongoing remote viewing project that looks at types of ET/alien contact. They recently studied the 1994 UFO sighting in Zimbabwe, in which 62 schoolchildren described a similar alien encounter, and telepathically heard a warning about humans hurting the planet. They concluded the kids were in a catatonic state that was induced from glowing white spheres that beamed or implanted ideas in them. The ETs behind this engagement were actually human in terms of their DNA, but raised on another planet, he added.
The interaction between the core of the Earth and the sun is what is most affecting our planet's weather, and we could be heading into a mini-Ice Age, he said. The solar "killshot" will take down power grids predominantly in certain areas, especially "broad plains with a lot of electromagnetic induction," he detailed. Dames also sees American economic power on the wane, with nations like Russia and China abandoning the "petrodollar" in favor of their own gold-backed currency. As this happens, smaller countries like Saudi Arabia, and even England, will turn away from the United States, he continued. By the late spring of 2014 we'll begin to see various currency collapses, he warned.
