As Hollywood attempts to burnish J. Edgar Hoover's legacy, The Corbett Report peers into the FBI's closet to rummage around its skeletons. From its illegal wiretaps and cointelpro campaigns to crime lab fraud and phoney terror busts, we cover all the bases in this week's edition of The Corbett Report.
Obama's Kill List Sanctioned by Department of Justice: US Becomes Outlaw Nation ... For months, the White House has been leaking how President Obama "carefully" reviews a kill list (assassination) of alleged terrorists (and who knows what other troublemakers end up on the potential target list?). Off-the-record comments (and some on the record) are meant to reassure Americans that the president doesn't take the authorization of kills (with the attendant "collateral damage" of civilians and children if a drone strike) lightly, but seriously contemplates who ends up dead as a sanctioned hit. As has been repeatedly noted by commentators not dazzled by the assumption of extra-judicial death warrants, it is perplexing and dismaying that a Harvard Law School grad who taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago is showing such a lethal disregard for the nation's fundamental legal document. Deciding who shall live and who shall die is generally a power attributed to Gods in most religions; or one can go back to history before the birth of states founded on democracy, when tyrants and monarchs held absolute powers. The authority Obama has assumed without any legislative or court permission goes well beyond the Bush/Cheney torture protocol; this is a kill list, not just a rendition order. The condemning of a person to death without due legal process, without habeas corpus, violates the Constitution in the most fundamental way. In doing so, Obama is undercutting and eroding the most basic guarantee in our legal system, at a time when the tide, ironically, is turning against capital punishment in the US. A Washington Post article today that reveals a hither-too classified document that adds a chilling corroboration of what has until now only been the subject of strategic leaks (for which we might add, no one has been prosecuted because these classified leaks are meant to enhance President Obama's image as a tough guy): The United States can lawfully kill a US citizen overseas if it determines the target is a "senior, operational leader" of al-Qaeda or an associated group and poses an imminent threat to the United States, according to a Justice Department document published late Monday by NBC News. The document defines "imminent threat" expansively, saying it does not have to be based on intelligence about a specific attack since such actions are being "continually" planned by al-Qaeda. "In this context," it says, "imminence must incorporate considerations of the relevant window of opportunity" as well as possible collateral damage to civilians.

Guests: James Colquhoun, Daniel Vitalis
James Colquhoun, director of the film Food Matters, along with health and nutrition expert, Daniel Vitalis, offered insight on why food companies purposely make you addicted to their food, and how eating the right things can make you healthy and stave off illness. There have been a lot of different food fads and diets that have come and gone, said Vitalis, and people are really confused about what to eat. "Either by design or a grand pattern, there's a food conspiracy now," and people out there are starving to death, even though they keep eating and eating, he continued, explaining that many processed foods lack nutrients and are detrimental to health.
Artificial sweeteners like aspartame, and flavor enhancers such as MSG are particularly addictive, as well as unhealthy, said Colquhoun, which suggests to him that these additives are put into our food for economic reasons. The FDA doesn't really protect the consumers' interests, but rather, is there to facilitate various substances into the marketplace, he added. Vitalis addressed the problem of diet foods, noting that while they may have reduced calories, they have low nutrition. To lose weight, he suggested people increase their nutrient to calorie ratio. Colquhoun also talked about the problems of sugar being abundantly used in food processing and manufacturing, and the rise of GMO foods.
Vitalis outlined methods to detox the body including consuming whole fresh food, using saunas, and drinking clean water (preferably from a natural spring). He also advocated eating organic foods, shopping at local farmer's markets, or even growing your own food from heirloom seeds. The announcement last week that Queen “Bilderberg” Beatrix of the Netherlands was abdicating the throne is but a visible sign of some fundamental changes in the secret power structure of the West. In a yet to be publicly confirmed move, David and J. Rockefeller have fled to an Island near Fiji, according to a CIA source. The Bush family, for its part, tried to flee via an airport in Arkansas but were prevented from doing so by the FBI, the same source says. This source, who correctly predicted the resignation of Queen Beatrix is also saying that Queen Elizabeth with [will] resign in favour of her grandson in the near future. These moves are all connected to the ongoing counter-attack against the genocidal Western elitists affiliated with the Bilderberg group, the Council on Foreign Relations and other related organizations. As will be described below, there is a lot more to come. Also, at the time of this writing Lord James Sassoon has not responded to a hand-written letter delivered to him last week at the House of Lords in England asking for comment on the allegations that he bribed 82 politicians (actually paid actors) affiliated with Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party. There are also plenty of indications of escalating infighting within the financial elite. The SWIFT international banking transfer system, for example, is becoming dysfunctional because….
Author Laurence Gonzales (deepsurvival.com(1)) shared stories about how certain people survive life threatening situations and demonstrate miraculous endurance and ingenuity. Almost all of the survivors he interviewed underwent a type of spiritual transformation during the process, Gonzales noted.
One key to their success in surviving was their ability to think clearly, rather than just panicking. Trusting gut instincts was also important, he said, adding that new research is indicating that intelligence may reside throughout the body and not just in the brain.
"The body can do amazing things," if the spirit is willing, Gonzales said of the case of Aron Ralston who amputated part of his arm after he became trapped under an 800 lb. rock while on a cliff. In the case of Vito S., who broke his leg while skiing in a remote location, Gonzales described specific survival techniques he used such as breaking his movements into manageable goals, dedicating actions to loved ones, and repeating empowering mantras.
Laurence Gonzales won two National Magazine Awards from the American Society of Magazine Editors for his work on National Geographic Adventure Magazine, in 2001 and 2002. Since 1970, his essays have appeared in several national publications and his work has won numerous awards. Laurence is the author of Deep Survival as well as a dozen other books. He also participated as a writer, in the Emmy Award winning series, "From the Earth to the Moon". He has been Managing Editor of the journal Tri-Quarterly, Contributing Editor for Paris Review, Articles Editor for Playboy, Artist in Residence at the University of Missouri, Contributing Editor for Men's Journal, and is now Contributing Editor for National Geographic Adventure Magazine.
Survivalism is a movement of individuals or groups (called survivalists or preppers) who are actively preparing for emergencies, including possible disruptions in social or political order, on scales from local to international. Survivalists often acquire emergency medical and self-defense training, stockpile food and water, prepare to become self-sufficient, and build structures (e.g., a survival retreat or an underground shelter) that may help them survive a catastrophe.
Anticipated disruptions may include: Clusters of natural disasters, patterns of apocalyptic planetary crises, or "Earth Changes" (tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, blizzards, solar storms, severe thunderstorms, floods, tsunamis). Anthropogenic disasters (chemical spills, release of radioactive materials, nuclear or conventional war, oppressive governments). The general collapse of society caused by the shortage or unavailability of resources such as electricity, fuel, food, or water. Financial disruption or economic collapse (caused by monetary manipulation, hyperinflation, deflation, or depression). A global pandemic. Widespread chaos or some other unexplained apocalyptic event.
Rogue prophecy scholar John Hogue discussed his new e-book Nostradamus: The War with Iran. He suggested that fundamentalist extremism underlies the thoughts and actions of leaders in Iran, Israel and the US, and they are being swept up in a kind of "messianic fever." A war with Iran could take place as early as this summer, he predicted.
Hogue argued that in the Six Day War (which recently had its 40th anniversary) the Israelis were right to stage a preemptive attack against their adversaries, but he does not see a similar situation with Iran, calling Iran's threats "hot holy air."
He reviewed some of Nostradamus' prophecies, including one that referenced a 3-13 year war between two Northern "eagle" powers-- which he interpreted as Russia and the United States. Hogue also spoke about climate change causing ocean levels to rise in as few as eight years, inundating port cities and disrupting food shipments.
John Hogue writes on the subjects of the occult, parapsychology, mysticism and prophecy. He is considered a world authority on Nostradamus and is the best-selling author of numerous books, including Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies and Nostradamus: The New Millennium, The Millennium Book of Prophecy, The Last Pope, and Messiahs: The Visions and Prophecies for the Second Coming. His work has brought him international acclaim. He has been published in 18 languages and sold over one million copies worldwide. In addition, he has appeared on over 700 radio and television shows on three continents.
Michel de Nostredame (14 or 21 December 1503 -- 2 July 1566), usually Latinised as Nostradamus, was a French apothecary and reputed seer who published collections of prophecies that have since become famous worldwide. He is best known for his book Les Propheties (The Prophecies), the first edition of which appeared in 1555. Since the publication of this book, which has rarely been out of print since his death, Nostradamus has attracted a following that, along with much of the popular press, credits him with predicting many major world events.
Most academic sources maintain that the associations made between world events and Nostradamus's quatrains are largely the result of misinterpretations or mistranslations (sometimes deliberate) or else are so tenuous as to render them useless as evidence of any genuine predictive power. Nevertheless, occasional commentators have successfully used a process of free interpretation and determined 'twisting' of his words to predict an apparently imminent event. In 1867, three years before it happened, for example, Le Pelletier did so to anticipate either the triumph or the defeat of Napoleon III in a war that, in the event, begged to be identified as the Franco-Prussian war, while admitting that he could not specify either which or when
The popular explanation is that the Fed has already rehypothecated all of its gold holdings in the name of other countries. That is, the same mound of bullion is earmarked as collateral for a host of different lenders. Since the Fed depends on a fractional-reserve banking system for its very existence, it would not come as a surprise that it has become a fractional-reserve bank itself. If so, then perhaps Germany politely asked for a seven-year timeline in order to allow the Fed to save face, and to prevent other depositors from clamoring for their own gold back - a 'run' on the Fed.
Now, the Fed can always print more dollars and buy gold on the open market to make up for any shortfall, but such a move could substantially increase the price of gold. The last thing the Fed needs is another gold price spike reminding the world of the dollar's decline. - in a recent article by Peter Schiff
